from design maybe, but in actual world, lots of ppl complain abt this, iincluding the China users where Lenovo is based. that's why many owner modify them by moving their hdd to the dvd drive bay. so far haven't heard similar cases on the asus n56.

would like to hear more from owners...

Bro, now if my Y480 and my friend's N56Vz put together inside an air cond room, my Y480 is cooler than my friend's N56Vz....lol

But there's quite a lot of lowyat.net members move the HDD to candy bay just to put SSD inside the HDD placa, the HDD SATA port there is SATA 6Gb/s....lol

BTW, NVIDIA 304.79 vs 304.48, which one better?
Now I installed 304.79, but sometimes after such a long time(mostly is after gaming and after long time) the driver stop working and when I open NVIDIA control panel it say no GPU is detected, but after I restart it it come back normal...lol

BTW 304.48 install conclusion:
1)It drag my boot time
2)When play NFS Hot Pursuit can't choose NVIDIA GPU
3)WOT fps very unstable
So plan to switch back to 304.79

Lenovo Malaysia say that they currently renew their warranty site, so our two years warranty will be updated 1-2 months later...

"DDR stands for Double Data Rate. SO any DDR3 (and DDR2) rating is double the actual speed. So ram running 800MHz is running DDR3 1600. Notice the ram specs only say DDR3 1600 without MHz at the end."

Just delete all the partition inside the HDD by using the Windows Installer....
And recreate it

BTW, actually I found that Windows Index Score does not use NVIDIA GPU to render Gaming Graphic and Graphic score if we use either 304.48 or 304.79 Beta driver...sweat.gif
Hope NVIDIA can be faster release WHQL driver for our GPU(of course bug-free)

I got U2 for my Y480, it's 4 fans(default 2 fans, I added two more fans)
U2 is fit for Y480, but if u wanna ensure every vents got one fan(Y480 got 3 vents, one is at processor, two is at RAM) u may need to move upside a bit and remove the rubber upside the cooler pad....
If u wanna perfect cooling, u can go for U3, although is big but u can move any fans without any problem...

Actually U can just remove left hand side one, but seems legit so remove two, if not remove and u move up, it will block ur processor vent...

And u2-u3 have a 20 bucks difference...want to save up if really dont need it...

U need it, is for HDD cooling...lol
other part does not any cooling, the way I bought U2 is need to speedup the air flow, so HDD can maintain at 44 when idle, now without cooler HDD maintain at 49(BTW I got play game before and although got shut down also let it rest for a while and start ot back)...sweat.gif

BTW just now I mention wrongly about the vent, there are three vents for three part: Processor, RAM and HDD...
just the HDD vent is a little bit down to HDD...lol

BTW got anybody can confirm with me Y580 in Singapore is FHD version or HD version if bought more than one week ago?
coz my friend bought at RM3749(after convert), free a logitech wireless mouse, a 16GB sony pendrive, a lenovo headset but he dunno is HD or FHD version(I got tell him check but he still din reply me), if he bought is HD version then totally expensive...lol
