Good now got additional 2 years...EWP also ok...hehe 3+2 =5 ....

exora use iridium spark plug. that why costly...
*
You sure? I asked and was told only 3 yrs and no EWP. So when does 5 yrs start?

I think it is better to change CVT fluid at 30K instead of 60K. That is based on friend who had CVT car who suggested half the interval.

Hi all, just came back from test drive yesterday, Exora Bold premium CVT ..... power is ok, handling ok, looks ok from outside, inside as usual proton quality and seats are hard ....... hmmm

My current Livina 1.6A Luxury .... the leather seats are much nicer and comfortable.
*
Pro and cons. Lavina NVH is better. Seats are comfortable like sofa. Exora seat are "German" in character meaning it is hard but not uncomfortable.

But Exora has air cond vent for ALL 3 rows and to some people, air cond is very important. Exora outside look better than the bread-loaf-like Lavina

So need some feedback and advise.

Last time I also like you, compare Livina with Exora Campro, but now with CFE & CVT my target is clear. Already order Exora CFE since mid Mei, still waiting.

I heard waiting list for Exora coming to 3 months. Proton quality now improved not many major problem but still struggle with small problem like power windows now settle after 25 years. We need be patient with proton, hopefully take over by Hicom will improve everything. Our nation hope!
*
There are still little nagging quality issues.
1. Dashboard got sound
2. Alignment is slightly off.
3. Once in a blue moon, there seem to be some grrrrrr sound from front suspension over pothole.
And this is from Day 1.

Things that are inherent, just the nature. Nothing you can do.
1. Below 60kph, car noisy full of whimming sound from CVT

My small wish
3. Change position of the autocruise - at times fingers hitting while driving...
*
Your hands should be placed at the upper part of the steering wheel. So what is your hands doing down under? rclxub.gif

I did a little searching and found it interesting.
The traditional position is the 10-2 position.
With airbags, 9-3 is recommended so arm not caught by exploding air bags.
Some goes as far as 8-4. So I presume you are using this?

Which dealer did you place booking ? or Proton Edar outlet ? Elegance Brown need to wait, Silver, Cocoa Grey, White within 1 mth .... what is the interest rate offer ? What is your discount ? Dealer give 1.5k .... Proton Edar no discount .....

Not sure will improve under DRB Hicom ... doh.gif
*
AFAIK, amount that much only applies to CPS model. No official discount for CFE unless the salesman want to give you his commission out of his own pocket but even then, no way 1.5K.

Exora CPS model official discount at Proton Edar is RM3k ..... dealer give 5k.

I just wonder whether really selling so well the Exora Bold CFE or just gimmick my Proton or DRB Hicom ......
*
Unless one is severely budget constrained, once you driven the CFE, nobody will want the CPS.

My eb also got hiccup problem when idle or not moving. If what longy said about variable valve timing is true then sucks lah. I thought they tested the engine and car for 250,000 km already,  cannot believe proton.

About the fan spinning thing,  if I drive without turning on the aircon,  it will spin for 5 minutes after I shut off the engine, everytime.
If I drive with aircon on, the probability the fan will spin after turn off engine is like 1/30. So rare, and if it spin, it's like for 2-3 minutes only.
*
My EB have never once got it's fan running after engine switched off. Never during town driving. Not even after driving for 30 mins at 90kph. No engine funny sound either. Nothing. Should I be worried? LOL

You are lucky! biggrin.gif
I went to ipoh, constantly 160km/h and when I stop at petrol station and switch off the engine, the fan didnt keep spin
So i think distance and speed doesnt affect the fan

I just wish the fan will not spin when someone i know are around, it just hard to explain to them it is not faulty. They also like, why new car behave like this? / proton engine fail is it? Maybe because it is a proton, if its a toyota, maybe they will be like " wow..so efficient to cool down the engine  drool.gif  "
*
Why not tell them a tall story? Tell them this car very intelligent. It's boiling water and coffee ready when you gets back to car later drool.gif

Innova was on my list ......but since I don't really need just another car I keep waiting for the right MPV with good value for money that meet my spec. Innova offering is not good enoug to make me change to another car.

When Exora CFE came out it was never in my list either (I do not trust Proton Quality) but my friend push me to test drive the car. After the test drive I kena racun already. THis is the car that I need - people mover, sexy look, aircond all round, good power, not too big for daily use, RM90 road tax, dvd player, sport rim, bla...blaa...bla ... and for 80k.  So here I am stuck with EB ...... but again so far I'm happy with my EB, hope it stays that way for long time to come  tongue.gif

I was looking at D segment saloon and ended up with this also rclxub.gif

The difference is between having to take a loan or no loan. No loan = no worries.

my experience so far after 3 months. now odo meter 3K

1. Steering feels vibration if speed more than 100km/h -> sent to my trusted tyre mechanic. done some tyre balancing and swap. now no more vibration.
2. occasional funny air cond smell during start up -> plan to complaint on next service.
3. rattling sound inside the dashboard. not sure where it originated. Hard to believe. Check your sun visor
4. OWV and OVV issue - so far does not encounter any weird noise yet.
5. so far no sudden engine die off. touch wood.
6. cabin filled with petrol smell after refuel.

thx,

I have been thinking on one possible reason for engine shuttering or about to 'die fire'.

AFAIK, Exora's CVT does have a clutch but it is the wet type. Even though it is wet, it is still a clutch so I presume it will have similar characteristic of any clutch like the one found in manual transmission, though to a less degree.

For example. With the Exora CVT, if you are on a slope and did not give the engine more petrol, the car will slip back just like a manual transmission would. But a real Automatic Transmission wouldn't.

Now in a manual transmission and if you starting to engage/disengage the clutch and if you do not give the engine enough petrol, engine will shutter or 'die fire'. The same thing may be happening here with the Exora because it happens when you change gear (put into Reverse etc). So why not give the Exora engine more petrol and see if the problem goes away. If it does, then that should be it.

My 2 sen

wud like to share my experience,  smile.gif

changed my hu about a month ago. opted for the cheapo china hu since its cheaper & looks ok.
did asked proton whether will void warranty, they said no. only for the clarion warranty.

lesson learned:
- asked the shop about warranty. i never asked, later onli he told its 3 month onli  sad.gif
- double confirm with them whether they r going to cut any wire. they actually did.
- confirm 1st whether there will be any other hidden charges. i kena:
--- need to buy antenna extension cable - rm15.
--- need to buy special usb adapter - rm15. cannot use others, will burn the hu  hmm.gif
- according to them, eb hu frame is not std size, so need to potong a bit. refer pix. otherwise wont fit nicely.
- installation time is ~45min instead of 20min claimed by shop.
Wait till Proton void your electrical warranty and only then you will learn your lesson the hard way. Legally, Proton has every right to void your warranty for messing around with your car's electrical system.

There is nothing to see. You can go ask your lawyer friend. You can go to court and the court will still rule in Proton's favor.

Cool down guys lol, actually i agree with optiplex330 because now its seems OK but when you have any problems for example (damage to ECU) they will say because of the HU the ECU had a short circuit and warranty void. also i noticed that they have cut the original wiring of the car which is a disaster when come to claim warranty as it is clearly stated in the user manual ((do not modify anything or else bye bye warranty)).

The only solution to this case is when you have any electrical problem in the car you should reinstall clarion HU and go to the SC unnoticed. but with your case cannot cuz u already sell in mudah. GOD  icon_question.gif  YOU
*
Many people do not know that, if SC found out:

When they cut wire, you say goodbye to your electrical warranty

When you use your own oil, you say goodbye to your engine warranty.

When you change to bigger rim/tires, you say goodbye to your drive train warranty.

Engage lawyer to fight your case in court also no use.
