My eb also got hiccup problem when idle or not moving. If what longy said about variable valve timing is true then sucks lah. I thought they tested the engine and car for 250,000 km already, cannot believe proton.

About the fan spinning thing, if I drive without turning on the aircon, it will spin for 5 minutes after I shut off the engine, everytime.
If I drive with aircon on, the probability the fan will spin after turn off engine is like 1/30. So rare, and if it spin, it's like for 2-3 minutes only.

My EB have never once got it's fan running after engine switched off. Never during town driving. Not even after driving for 30 mins at 90kph.  No engine funny sound either. Nothing. Should I be worried? LOL
*
You are lucky! biggrin.gif
I went to ipoh, constantly 160km/h and when I stop at petrol station and switch off the engine, the fan didnt keep spin
So i think distance and speed doesnt affect the fan

I just wish the fan will not spin when someone i know are around, it just hard to explain to them it is not faulty. They also like, why new car behave like this? / proton engine fail is it? Maybe because it is a proton, if its a toyota, maybe they will be like " wow..so efficient to cool down the engine drool.gif "

hi guys,

now my odo at 323 km

as reported earlier, i got 6.3km/l full city drive. is this normal before 1st service? kind of high. the way i check if pump full petrol, reset odo, drive until the petrol meter drop a few level, then pump full again, check how many km i travelled, calculate manually
*
That is normal...the fc will drop after your 5k mileage smile.gif Last time my fc also like you full city drive, now 6K already become 9.5KM/L. I also when travel I drive fast average 160km/h, maybe fast break in reduce the fc

Why not tell them a tall story? Tell them this car very intelligent. It's boiling water and coffee ready when you gets back to car later  drool.gif
*
They wont believe one, unless other carmaker also got the same fan running thingy biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

Everyone got complaint when service, but sc also not sure what's the problem and lazy to check until detail.

But from what I heard, Preve got own service team...since we share same engine, I think solution will be there soon enough. smile.gif

3. rattling sound inside the dashboard. not sure where it originated. Hard to believe. Check your sun visor -

confirmed not sun visor.
*
I think mine comes from the small piece of dashboard that located at the driver side A pillar. That small piece of dashboard near the small triangular window

QUOTE(Longy @ Jun 30 2012, 10:57 AM)
My EB 1.6 CVT Premium is two months old.

As I was settling down from all the earlier minor hiccups of EB, I received a letter from EON last week, asking me to go and check " variable valve timing " ( VVT ) at the nearest SC doh.gif . I am not sure how serious is this problem. Has anyone else here received this letter?. Can the Sifus give some info on this VVT?

For those long waiting new EB owners, I had to wait patiently for more than two months. I found the system works like some Govt offices. My SA pushes to his local manager, the manager could not do much. Call I care , standard replies. Latter I came to know there are red tapes inside as well. After I loose my patience, the car arrived within 1 week.  hmm.gif

I hope I can keep my EBP for atleast next 5 years without any major problems. rclxub.gif
*
Can you please upload the letter, i dont get from them sad.gif

Is vvt leakage related to one way valve?

I think if its related, then should be no problem

planning to get exorabold. Heard from sales guy, another new exora model coming up this year? supposedly CFE engine in the std addition? Also, for EBpremium, the backseat got headrest?
*
Maybe not new model but upgrade like 4 airbags and rear fog light or if lucky enough, eb will have ESC thumbup.gif
Because the Australian EB specs will have like what I mention

Yeap, all seat have own headrest

Bros,

Any of u have changed the stock speaker? Will it void warranty?
Im thinking of upgrading the ICE to a better one.

Also, i saw a bro mentioned that hhe changed the 2nd row seat by taking out the middle seat. How much does it cost and can u share a picture of how does it look like now?

My intention was to get prime, but since i'm not able to get it before Raya, changed to EB.
*
I think you misread, he said he take out the 2nd row left seat only
The middle 2nd row seat cannot be take out without the right seat because it attach together. It's either take the left seat or middle&right seat icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi All bro here,
I am a newbie here. Received my EB in June2012.
About 2 weeks after, my EB had problem.
While waiting at traffic light (with engine running) out of suddend "CVT alarm" indiciated at panel. Try press the fuel paddle but car not moving. So call proton hotline, where he advise to off engine, open front bonet & disconnet battery terminal.
Then he asked to re-connet battery terminal.
After, "CVT alarm" cleared. Can move as usual.

But what really frustrating me was yesterday (about 1.5 months after above incident).
"CVT alarm" indicated at panel when slowing down upon road hump. Off the engine for 1 min then switch on. "CVT alarm" cleared and i start the engine. Moving again. Then it happened again! Argh....
This thing happened 4 times yesterday.
Finally i gave up, drive back home (luckily not too far from home) and switch my other car.
Hmmm....bad experience to me.
Anyone can share/help me in this matter.
To the extend i feel like to sell my EB now!

In dire need....huh
*
Have you go to SC? first time I heard EB have problem with cvt

Personally i prefer lokatoo than papago, the interface much better smile.gif
I only use papago when destination cannot be found in lokatoo
I already put garmin too, but the font is so small

i already book for EB CFE. all about CVT problem and issues rises has been highlighted during these days...anyone can put in here EB & CVT solving LOG record? either solve by manufacturer or by user itself. They can be informative to new user like me so i can verified the previous problem is already solve, reoccurs or new problem. TQ in advance.
*
Agree with his idea smile.gif
joefbi, after you get your EB do join Exora owner club malaysia EOCM, more infos and exora owner there. You can join TT and discuss abt exora bold.

Just got my EB..

Fill in full tank got smell inside cabin. Think a few users got this also. Any clue yet why this happen?

Also realized got wind noise from driver side at above 100.

Then, the fan sound after u switch off the engine, woahh!! That is loud.. Worried neighbour will complain at night.

Other than that, all good.. Acceleration is good as expected.
*
I got 2006 neo, after refill the fuel, the smell of petrol fill inside cabin. But so far nothing happen, i guess its normal for proton

Tips, to reduce wind noise, take out the door visor

hmmm.... just wondering.. grand livina is about 90k right.. and exora bold cfe is 80k.. doesn't this make this bold cfe quite expensive? since livina's price include excise tax + ap + import tax and what not, still only 10k only more expensive than exora bold cfe..
*
The turbocharged engine and the cvt make it expansive I think smile.gif

Grand Livina 1.6L (M) Comfort OTR RM86,813.50
Grand Livina 1.6L (A) Comfort OTR RM89,813.50
Grand Livina 1.8L (A) Comfort OTR RM98,815.30
Grand Livina 1.8L (A) Autech OTR RM105,800.00

Grand livina tax total is 95% (10%import duty, 75%excise duty, 10% sales tax)
Without tax, grand livina 1.8 comfort only cost RM52K

While EB tax total is 85%
EB Premium without tax cost RM44k

price different without tax is rm8K

RM 8k extra we get lemon turbocharged engine, cvt, bigger space, reverse camera, electronic flip side mirror, 16 inch rim including the spare tyre thumbup.gif
