We are doing our best to limit the amount of pro teams to join in this tourney, regarding the pro players forming a team with their friends, if there is a pro player in the opposing team can't you take it as a challenge? Shouldn't you guys have been training in tmm or scrims? To have a edge over the opposing team is to draft up a good hero line up, plan a start, work as a team, and the most important communicate with your team.

This is the worst tournament and i ever joined. Thanks for it. smile.gif

1) Organiser that shouted at players when briefing? (no respect at all)
2) Don't even have any good planning. Just imagine your opponent can sit either next to you or even behind you. (can hear or even see our computer when playing)
3) Flipping coins not player decide whether they want side or 1st ban or 2nd ban? Marshal choose for players? better you sit and play la !
4) The day before the competition. you guys sent us a sms about changing the rules or updated? IS 1.58AM DUDE THINK BEFORE YOU DO THAT CAN?
5) You guys mention is a "AMATEUR competition" end up change your fking rules SO FKING LAST MINUTE and allowing SO CALLED BAN PLAYER to join? BETTER DONT FKING BAN ANY PLAYERS OR TEAM. So EVERYONE JOIN.

To Ian Cbt president of don't know what club. you need a lot more experience in organising tournaments. please do more research on how and what kind of attitude should an organiser have.

there will be more complain coming soon. =)

Hmm, I was at the tourney as well as a participant. Let me try to answer in the organizer's point of view.

1) Organizer shouted at players when briefing
- The CC is too loud with other players playing. we're not the only players there because i think kdu didn't book the whole cc to us?

2) About the placing of seats, kinda headache abit. but every team also share the same problem as you do. Me and my mates were sitting quite far away but we manage to communicate. At the end of the day, the talking and discussion during the game is important, yes. But whats most important is the "already-acquired-team-chemistry"? If you guys play together long enough, with less talking, u guys should be able to react in situations right? Can see or hear, if you're so particular about it, why not get a headset? or probably request the marshal and address the problem about the seating beforehand than to rant about it now?

3) Flipping coins is all about luck. Its an amateur tourney. We didn't even have a LCD that project plays or even live casters to comment on our gameplay. so i guess its understandable? if you're so particular about everything, go join dreamHON instead? Besides, they didn't force us to join and play, we decide to join ourselves.

4)About the late notice, probably is their fault. No argument there.

5)Change rules? i've re-read the rules and regulation in the google doc file and it's clearly written that game marshal's decision is final. no arguments will be entertained? and what is the rules changed? who are the banned players? do you have their IGN?

If its so unfair to you, what about my team?
We were at the middle of a game with full items ready to engage but one of our member's pc is restarted due to an accident. We didn't rant about it, we just take it as a loss. No hard feelings. We enjoyed the game but sadly it did not ended in a way we expected. At the end of the day, is the experience that counts. Weather u win or lose, its just a game. Don't be so uptight about it. biggrin.gif

First off, this shows the immaturity of this guy who literally has no idea that organizers have different level of expectation in hosting tournaments. So what if they are not experienced? Everything starts from experience and they will take note to make better changes in future tournaments. Firstly I understand you are frustrated that you have lost and you have nothing to blame so you have no one to blame besides the organizing parties.

It is literally the first time I ever seen someone who paused a game and complained about a game chat which clearly your team have lost terribly. Seriously its a doh.gif HILARIOUS! From a spectator point of view, to watch a game as such is interesting but to end with such bad sportsmanship and complain about everything else but your own behaviour, FCKING FUNNY DUDE! look at the mirror before you start pointing fingers to others and make sure that you know what you are complaining before you know what you are saying. You are an ignorant and immature player. It is so disappointing to see gamers with such mentality to behave as such in tournaments as such. As a spectator and an experienced gamer who travels to watch matches in Korea, LA, etc, I've never seen such childishness.

Rules are rules, if you can't abide it, don't join and whine like a freaking baby looking for his pacifier. If you are not happy for the tournament, feedbacks are great to improve future tournaments, if you continue whining about it JUST BECAUSE YOU LOST TO A TEAM WHICH U THINK IS NOOB, do practice more on your personality and groom yourself before you start gaming.

I was literally laughing out loud when I saw the "pause" just to complain that.. opposition team is sharing sportsmanship and even his teammates acknowledge it. FUNNY! And I seriously had to walked out of the cybercafe just to LAUGH IT OUT! Grow up kid, losing a game makes a player better in future. Work hard and stop whining. Accept the fact that you lost, and compete in the next 'NON-AMATEUR' tournament where you will have better organizers. rclxms.gif

-Spectator who finds this whiner hilarious and fcking stupid-

To rimau and his teammates,

I've got no idea why you and your teammates are so sore about, I simply only said gg out of respect and good sportsmanship. Please don't be blinded by your own ego and immaturity. It was a good game after all smile.gif probably because i immortal-ed team happy.gif

Yours,

well, it is actually debatable.

- You down all enemy's 11 towers, 6 rax, while u still have plenty of yours intact, a "gg" could mean "great game, we enjoyed it alot. thank you"
- You are at a middle of a balanced game where kills and tower are pretty much balanced, a "gg" could mean "we surrender"(if the team initiates the concede vote) or " this is actually a pretty balanced ,well played game."
- You and your team agree that the game is outplayed where enemy has out-farmed you or your team, a "gg" simply says "thats it, we had enough, the win is yours."

Valid? biggrin.gif

Which smartass brain who thinks with their butts say GG = sign of surrender? doh.gif SO you are saying KOREANS SC players say GG means SURRENDER? It's good game. This abbreviation has been used since Starcraft and probably earlier too. Get your facts right!

Lol. If everyone who had no experience not run any tournaments, who do you think will run tournaments? You think every person who picked it up and made one happen started off with experience? Stop being such a child.

BTW. You have not seen the "worse" tournament ever. I doubt you've been around long enough for that.

While it is important that an organizing team attempts to ban "pro" teams from joining, it is a sad and horrible truth that there will be players who will attempt to join, even when they are banned. This is highly due to the infrastructure in place (or lack of thereof) to support player banning/team banning. While we can say its an amateur tournament, what qualifies as "amateur" is still highly debatable at this point as organizing teams do not share data between each tournament. So, take what you get, face the challenges as they come and turn out as the better player/team. That is how you win. That is a victory no one can take away from you.

So stop whining and win the next tournament.

I think everyone should calm down.

Every event will have its hiccups despite best intentions.

The rules were changed to prevent (as best they could) professionally / sponsored players from sneaking in and tilting the balance too much. The rules weren't changed to discriminate against any teams in particular and the rules were presented again before the tournament to be read and signed by all participating teams. The club has done its due diligence in ensuring that the teams aren't unbalanced.
The fact that the rules were being refined and were SMS-Ed to everyone the night before actually represents the clubs dedication to ensure their rules are solid.

Sign only if you feel that the terms are acceptable.
Same applies to all documents you will find in life. Read in, and sign only if you accept.

The idea of Amateur-only is to provide a fighting chance for all teams. The reason 'mini' isnt stated in the title is because it should be apparent in the prize-money offered.

As for tournament organizers not being experienced? Seriously?
It is being run by a university club to the best of their ability. Of course criticisms are welcome as we hope to improve upon the execution of future events. The club is learning as well. Managing the number of people involved is definitely not an easy task and I think the event has gone as smoothly as it could.

An event's success rate is usually evaluated based on the number of satisfied players vs. complaints.
That being said, we appreciate the feedback and no hard feelings. Those are definitely things to consider for future tournaments and we definately want to improve. We hope to continue having your support in future tournaments. Do let us know if there are further ways you feel we cold improve (without the emotions)

Some teams lose, some win. Dust off, get up and try again.

Thanks,
Ivan

Then I shall say that your mentality and ego covers ur brain to accept the facts that "gg" means good game to compliment sportsmanship. That is why we say the maturity level of gamers in Malaysia is like a 5 year old kid. If someone says GG, then they take it offensively. Childish yet immature. Grow up and take it like a man. It's sportsmanship. Google "sportsmanship" kid. brows.gif

16 teams group stage + single elimination isn't a mini tournament. The reasoning for this format is to allow the teams to gain as much experience from their matches as possible. Considering the timeline, this isn't a mini tournament.

Amateur tournaments are aimed at teams that want to improve without too much difference in skill levels, in normal cases teams that have won titles are banned. If one person can strike so much fear in you and your team that you need to complain and rage in the forums, it is likely you won't get further than this.

Again, while the organizing team does their best to not allow teams to cheat, it is common that players will still try. Also, I AM reading the facts.

"We will only allow ONE(1) Pro/Sponsored player in each team. More than that will not be accepted." as stated in the Rules and Regulations that you agreed upon when entering the tournament.

I rest my case. You're a whiner, SIR.

Also...

Terms and Condition
All rules are subject to change at any time by KDU GC Marshalls and Referees with or without notice to participants. The decisions made by Marshalls and Referees are final and is not disputable. Failure to acknowledge decisions made by Marshalls and Referees can lead to disqualification. Each team is given a 15 min timer to set their things straight. Failure to start a match and delaying the opposing team can lead to team disqualification.

While it may seem like its targeted at you, do remember rules made are a blanket ruling. It's not personal. So take some time off to cool down and join the next tournament you find. Geez.
