tested the avenger, battleship & a couple more movies in 7.1 with tiamat then i change back to my old turtle beach x41, even ask my wife listen to the difference..... Hate to say this, the headset that i been waitin for 8+ months sucks. Too much echo, when the actors talk they sounds abit robotics, action scene nice explosion bass but everything sounds so echoish compare to X41 crisp & clear sounds. The soundcard im using is the latest Asus Xonar Phoebus so i dont think thats the issue.

Games like diablo 3, guildwar 2 does support 7.1 and they sounds fantastic still with X41 compare to the echoish sound from tiamat. I tried tinkering with every possible settings with the soundcard n headset but still cant find where to make it sound good. Hope someone in the forum can help me out ? Anyone else has tiamat 7.1?

Tiamat tat bad ar. Can u explain more about "echoish". Out of topic abit, i tried x41 before, the bass is weaker and volume kinda low, Hw u solve it on pc ar

echoish like karaoke lol..... even those mtv from youtube sounds so bad with tiamat or the movie/music blurays i d/l. The sound/voice is just not clear. Play games like battlefield 3 is ok with accurate surround but honestly i still prefer x41 clear & crisp & accurate surround too.

for the x41, what sound card r u using? last time i use the old xfi and it sounds weak, then i change using Rampage 2 extreme Xfi soundcard it was good but now using the Xonar Phoebus it just blow my mind out( im only using 30% of the volumn on the headset now, the explosion is good, bullet sounds clear as hell).... Does your X41 auto-off all the time also?

I think most of the headset also dependent on the soundcard also, i have Roccat kave 5.1, Steelseries siberia 7H also and they all sounds better than tiamat 7.1. (minus the true 7.1 surround from tiamat.)
Im still hoping im wrong here, and someone can help me fix this problem!! Dont wanna feel wasted rm689 on this headset....arghhh

Btw heavyarm, are u able to ask your distributor whats wrong wif the tiamat echoish sound? please let me knw if u manage to try it n doesnt sound echoish. Im going to try reinstall my windows n games again n see if it helps or not.

x41 needs a headphone amp bro heavyarm.

On the PC, having a soundcard with a dedicated headphone amp will improve the sound clarity so much I wonder why there isn't a headphone amp on its wireless receiver. Mistake by Turtlebeach.

@JackMin
Back onto the Tiamat query, did you try disabling all software sound processing from the Xonar Phoebus? That includes equalizer profiles too if you had any.

From the limited time I had with the Tiamat 7.1, it is a very good sounding headset to me. Certainly no "echoish" sounds that you mentioned.

SSJBen : yes i tried disable the enviroment effects, the Dolby home theater and only set 7.1 in the speaker sections. When without the Dolby home theater, the headsets sound even worst like a 'spoiled speaker'.....

I attached 2 pics, my headset is currently plug to the mic in, front, ctr/sbw, rear and Side/SPDIF out of the soundcard. So i dont think there is any problem with the connection is there?

I think that's the problem there then.

You're supposed to connect to

- Mic In
- Line In
- Front
- Ctr/Sbw
- Rear

Make sure the green labeled cable goes into Line In.
Side/SPDIF out is used for connecting to a device with a Digital Output, the Tiamat 7.1 doesn't use Optical or HDMI so yeah, it doesn't work.

Any1 who own blackwidow's mind sharing their experience with it? like how long you've owned it and issues with is etc etc  smile.gif

Got my blackwidow ultimate today. laugh.gif I fell in love with the blue LEDs, not the new green ones. They didn't have the windows key layout in stock for the original BW ultimate so I went with the mac version. Works well on windows 7 professional, although it's not stated on the box. At times like this I appreciate having a smartphone with 3G connection for fast lookups.

line in isn't supposed to output any sound. it's only used for recording from an input source

Tried the mx browns bro, the store had the stealth editions on display and the browns just lost the charm (of what makes mechanical keyboards special) since the clickety experience of the mx blues ( that tactile feedback complete with sound) are what made me fell in love with mechanical keyboards in the first place. smile.gif

I just HAD to get the mx blues. The browns were definitely not up to my taste. I can see why some people would prefer to get the stealth edition though. I live alone in my room so there's no roomate to get disturbed with the sound of the keyboard.

The only thing that might be bothered are my friends over VoIP when we play starcraft 2 together later on. I might need to find some way to filter the keyboard noise through the mic. Or maybe the sound won't reach through the mic, who knows?

I used to be a fan of silent efficient scissors type of keyboards, but then I never thought keyboard clickety sounds can be so exciting to hear. It's nothing like the cheaper keyboards sounds I grew up listening.

Mouse buttons should be standardized. Do you have problems with clicking, besides the fact that its harder on that button?

What are you using it for? Music or gaming? For the former, dont get it. for the latter, if i were you i`d wait for kraken and decide then.

no but it's something i might have to get used to. just have to register clicks harder than usual. double click wasn't a problem since i got used to the crap mouse at my office tongue.gif . but knowing that it's stiffer on the left button is a little irritating sweat.gif

Added on August 29, 2012, 5:01 pmp/s i'm currently on qck mini mousepad, any recommendations which razer mousepads to go with orochi? my orochi sometimes get uneven glides with all the batteries weight added in. mousepad's 3 weeks old only. smile.gif
