QUOTE(Holi^oNe @ May 15 2007, 01:54 PM) Just dropped by to inform that our store Manawerx Trading has successfully been relocated. We are now open for business. Thanks to everyone who have supported us ~! Lepakboy , do you have a decklist for the deck you're playtesting ? might wanna test it out. Somehow mono-blue / mono-red seems very popular for block at the moment. Heya, wish i could supply the list but the dude who was playtesting for the PTQ has gone off to America lol. He was only on a part time course here in the UK. My other mates are instead testing for nationals. I will see if i can contact the dude via E-mail and see if i can grab the list for ya. Just wanted to ask that as a store do you support other formats such as legacy / more casual forms such as highlander? Just curious

Just returned from the biggest MTG event in Great Britain, the 2007 M-Fest.
Man it was hectic weekend and quite happy with the performance of everybody from my local store. 4x members won 1 & 2nd in a 2hg Sealed Challenege and in another event got 2nd and 4th in a Historical Sealed event. I myself who was there merely for fun was enjoying myself playing the less crowded and considerably cheaper Gateway events (Absolutely useless because the prize for being first is only 2x Summer Mtg Cards which were Foil Treetop Village and Faerie Conclave). Still competition was tough and eventhough it was suppose to be a (casual less competitive event), I sure as H**L didn't win easy. Faced Solar Flare, GW Aggro with Tarmagoyf's and Trolls, Mono Red Gargadon burn, Korlash Control, Blink 187 and one Boros deck.
I only decided to post because I've been reading your comments about the Blink decks. Well I must admit that yes, Blink is good however from experience of watching ppl play, and listening from the pro's themselves, each build is unique. Unlike other decks such as Bridge where you follow a certain set of prefixed cards (4x Stinkweed imp , 4x Magus of the Bazaar etc) Blink has to be customised. There is the control version that plays Grand Arbiters, then you've got the more aggro version with things like Avalanched Raiders.
Personally I think Korlash Control is one of the most easiest to pilot and do well however the most versatile has to be Angelfire. Its just so consistant and fun that once you start you can't stop.
Oh saw the UK Vintage National Championship. Simply Awesome ! At one point everyone on the table (which were about 12 of them) had a Black Lotus in play. Flash was there as everyone expected coupled with the usual Control Slaver and various other combo decks. I sure wish I can play that format someday.

This is a response to XenoFr3ak Sorry no pictures of the event because I was filming it instead. I filmed the last game between Craig Jones and Enduardo for the last place in the UK National team. Char U FTW ! I do however have a picture of my set of Edge of Autumn redesigned by the artist himself Attached thumbnail(s)

QUOTE(Holi^oNe @ Aug 1 2007, 01:05 PM) The guy is a new artist for M:TG isn't he ? He's only credited with 1 card on gatherer. What's he doing at M-Fest . Must have been quite boring signing same cards over and over Lol well Wizards was the one that invited him. He has been commissioned to do more art for them so prepare to see more of his work showing up in newer sets. Dave Kendal and RK post were also there but all I got were their signatures. Nothing special.

To Evofantasy.
I've done extensive testing with my mates using Korlash and I must say Its weakest match-ups are Angelfire, Narcolepsy, MGA (US National's Build) and R/G Aggro with Gargadon.
Angelfire is certainly the worst matchup possible. It is almost always 80% to Angelfire. Simply because Faith Fetters kills Korlash (adding Boom//Bust into the mix, even if they do not draw fetters, a bust kills korlash instantly). You're losing out of the most important card of all. Rise//Fall. Fall is evil when done on turn 2 usually slowing down your opponent (especially control down at least 2 turns). Rise also has amazing synergy with Korlash either by retriving one from the graveyard or even better, removing fetters from the one in play.
If aggro is prevalent in the m'sia meta, GBW Wish decks might be a potential killer. Lifegain via Loxodon Hierarchs, Fetters, Darkheart Sliver, and Wishing for Debtor's Knell, Glare of Subdual, Teneb, etc might just be the perfect deck. Our group didn't play GBW Wish decks because we feared a control and dreadge meta which was right for the grinders but completly irrelavent in the finals.

Hrmm does anyone else not like the idea of tribal ? The last time they did that in onslaught people just played Goblins. Well hopefully they executed it better this time by making everyone else a little more balance giving us more choices than just Goblins and Beast.
sigh ... don't mind me as I'm just missing engineered plague

QUOTE(evofantasy @ Aug 8 2007, 03:33 PM) rakdos is awesome i think... dark confidant provides u with gas that not many decks can ahndle... I would so dearly love to play Rakdos however Dark Confidants seem to have a grudge against me. When I was playing UB Tog in Extended, Confidant was amazing in testing however during the PTQ I flipped Meloku 3 times. Pretty much game vs decks like Boros deck wins etc. I thought hey this won't happen to me in Standard ... yet .... I still managed to flip Gargadon 5 times during the recent Standard. LoL. I'll stick with Angelfire for now.

QUOTE(evofantasy @ Aug 8 2007, 05:24 PM) haha that's bad luck... dun think gargadon in rakdos would be good idea anyways... i notice nowadays lots of angelfire decks try dbl striking... Most run a lone copy of Sunhome , the Boros Guild land. The deck is seriously good evident from testing the various wins around the world. The only deck it really suffers to is the Mono Red Burn decks out there. Post sideboard its slightly better with Faith Fetters. But even when I sided in 3x Faith Fetters, I barely scraped a victory and that's only because I managed to cast 4x Helix and 2x Fetters

QUOTE(XenoFr3ak @ Aug 8 2007, 05:58 PM) How about UB Teferi Control ... will it be killed also ?? There are various UB Teferi builds out there ranging from the tutor version with Mystical Teachings to the more aggro version with more creature kill and less counter magic. Mono Red is fast ... and I do Mean fast. Better pack up on spell snare's Turn 1 Mogg Fanatic Turn 2 Keldon Marauders (-2) Turn 3 Suspend Gargadon (-6) Turn 4 Solifuge (-12) From then on its just burn burn burn and laugh at Tendrils. Its annoyingly hard only because you want to side out Damnations, but then you need it incase you get overruned. And its useless to side in more because most of the time you'll be using it on 1x Keldon Marauder or Mogg Fanatic which they sac in response to Gargadon. Post side they also have Cycroclasm .... Sigh ..wish force spike was still legal (I've just started testing the US national build. Will let you guys know the results)

QUOTE(evofantasy @ Aug 8 2007, 06:26 PM) erm i was thinking decking pyroclasm haha... with it i can wipe up the board faster since its 2 mana cost and most of their red are weenies... my current deck runs 4 remands but not sure would spell snare be better? Remands are still good as it gives you a boost in tempo However if you're playing control or even control aggro Spellsnare's are awesome. Nothing beats the look on people's faces when you spellsnare their Helix, Scab Clan Mauler, Incinerate, Remand, Rune Snag blah blah blah Most important is probbaly Boom//Bust.

QUOTE(evofantasy @ Aug 8 2007, 06:36 PM) uh boom/bust if they bust then spell snare wont work rite... maybe i'll side spellsnare and see... against rakdos late game i'm the the lead and have a high chances of winning... No but the most devastating play is turn 1 Dual land U/R or R/W Turn 2 Flagstones - Boom your land and search for Hallowed Fountain. Vs Rakdos you kills Dark Confidant and probbaly the most davastating - Rise // Fall

QUOTE(evofantasy @ Aug 8 2007, 07:06 PM) btw if there's no creature in my grave but there is in his grave... i chose rise to bounce his creatures rite, must i return a creature hin his grave to his hand as well? Well they must have valid targets so either Bounce his creature and return a creature to his hand or Bounce your creature and return a card to his hand.
