Both ways should not harm your car. If any starting procedure by any way will harm your car/engine, Proton surely will not allow that way (to start your car) in the first place. So, no worry.

For Forte, got 4 ways to start the car :

1. Press brake & then push the start button to start the car
2. Push start button once (enter ACC mode), then press brake & push the start button again to start the car
3. Push start button twice (enter ON mode), then press brake & push the start button again to start the car
4. Push the start button once & release, then push the start button again & hold for 10 seconds. The car will start without a need to press the brake. This contingency procedure will be used when the brake switch failed.

I've use method 1 for my Forte (applicable to Preve also) for 2 years+, nothing wrong whatsoever with the starting mechanism wink.gif That i can reassure u..

So that u can use your car accessories like radio/CD without starting the car. Push the button the for second time (still without pressing the brake), the car will enter ON mode where all the check lights lit up. Push the button again for the third time (again, without pressing the brake), the car will back to OFF mode. In any mode/step, if u press the brake & push the start button, the car will start harmlessly...

Already fucuked the branch manager until he running out of words. As of now, i will hold to his words that he will try his best to make sure that the car will be delivered to me the latest by 10th of June. Let see if he will live up with his words..2 weeks to go

2 months 1 week+ already. I dont mind to wait if i book the car late, but seeing others who booked the car this month already got their cars & it's CFE some more, that's hard man. It's not a matter of time but more on their terrible car allocation system. Somehow I'm skeptical that Proton got such system in the first place..by judging on how they allocate & distribute their cars in this case, it's just like a random & unsystematic car delivery. icon_question.gif

Lol..i booked almost 2.5 months ago..still got nothing..no news whatsoever as of now. Silver color also. Already fucuk the branch manager & the Proton i(dont)Care by phone & email sweat.gif

Already call & email Proton i-(dont)Care last Monday. They said will give me feedback in 3 days working time..but no feedback whatsoever until now. Crap customer service i must say...

My SA called me by middle of April. He said, if i pay full downpayment, they will have reason to chase for my car for a fast delivery. So, several days later, i went to the showroom & pay DP in full. But no such thing as fast delivery..WTF

Perhaps u are right..i'm too kind to them. When i met the branch manager last time to fucuk him, he ask me to wait the latest until 10 of June. He said he will do at his best to deliver my car during that period. As of now, i will hold to his words first. If by 10 of June still no car, i will either ask for refund & change to another branch that has ready stock or i will proceed with my original plan to buy a Fiesta instead & say bye2 to Proton forever...

most of the ppl here i see is once sign the LOU... within 1 - 3 weeks they pay the down payment they will get their car.

Yup..i have the official receipts from the branch. The booking receipt dated 19 Mac 2012 & the full DP receipt dated 23 April 2012. I dont know what's wrong with this Alor Setar branch..they seems to receive many Preve CFE..but none of them are a silver colored one. Got several silver Preve arrived also, but it's a non CFE variant..crap!

Proton should expect that silver color usually will have high demand & should produce more. Instead, many blue lagoon Preve CFE arrive at the showroom..& some of it is still at the storage yard for weeks coz no buyer..what a waste
