12-50 is a very good lense...
just that it lacks the bokeh...
other than that its just fine...

which set of photos or which review were you looking at ?  the 12-50mm m.zuiko lens review (Dec 2011) pics looks mighty fine to me ...

btw, the pics were taken with E-P3 as E-M5 was not in the market at that point.

weight, length n size is comparable with my belated Tamron 17-50mm f2.8

but i love it coz i actually hold on the lens when walk around instead of the body XD

firstly, you said ALL of his pictures were like that .. which is why i found the remark astounding.

anyway i'm not sure if it's your expectations or other reasons .. the Hulu Langat pics which were actually taken with the 12-50mm lens looks fine taking into consideration the location (waterfall area).

not sure if you realized (or read the words in the article carefully) but a few pics were not taken with the 12-50mm lens and some were 100% crops which attempts to show how well (or otherwise) the details are captured.  the body used was a E-P3.

all in all, i think for the focal length coverage and very decent macro mode ... the lens is a good value.

Anyway, here's what every (90%) OM-D owners faced when we first purchased the camera; We asked for screen protector and "none" are available in the market (malaysia) specially designed/ready-cut for our precious. I was one of them... I got the smaller cheap (free) screen protector applied when I got my baby OM-D from the shop I bought. The (free) screen protector I've got from the shop is small and it did not cover fully on the LCD screen. It makes the screen ugly when viewing the shots.

Then I ordered the "Lexerd Screen Protector" from eBay. The screen protector is ultra thin and ready-cut for OM-D. 



The package includes:
1 x Screen Protector
1 x Squeezie Card
2 x Fingers Latex Gloves

But the edges looked damn ugly, it did not laminates properly no matter how I tried it. This is how it looked like...:





I then thought that it'll slowly settle in... But after more than 5 days, it's still looked the same and was very disappointed with the money spent for this item. cry.gif
Continue my search and found out that even the 3M screen protector acting the same and it was full of craps in eBay for our OM-D.

Then I managed to get myself this:





I am now more than happy. The film quality is superb and is very easy to apply, no bubbles, no un-sticky edges (like the Lexerd), Crystal Clear (anti-glare also available), will not affect the sensitivity of the touch-screen and perfectly cut.

This particular lens is perfect. No rattlesnake sound or whatsoever. Super fast and quiet.
It focuses on the target I wish to target without any hiccups at all. Really Niiiiceeeee~ Kekekeke...
