since most ppl suggest otto vs algae, i had 1 bad exp la. 1st attempt growing glosso, after couple weeks, root already quite deep but these otto manage to pluck it out. now i already manage to grow a glosso but not yet full carpet. algae here & there.. anyone have same bad exp or any suggestion? i prefer to get as natural as it can be. so, no chemical bombing as it will only lead to another attack.

im really not into memorizing [my weakness, really] those algae name since i have both marine & freshwater tank, so the list are double sweat.gif
1. on the glass tank. green, like hair/cotton.
2. on the leaf of [idk what the plant name], white, like hair/cotton.
3. on the rock, looks like green paint. already coat the rock.
4. on the rock, even on the green paint algae, brown coloured, fluffy like cotton.
5. brown coloured on the glosso stick.

maybe u pening with the explanation, i also pening searching for the names. some say 'this algae' & 'that algae' but when i search it, based on picture from google, not the same. sweat.gif

thanks for the suggestion tho

Me... Brought otto, yamato and some plants that I don't know the name. tongue.gif

Put the otto and yamato in mineral water bottle, but mine is domestic flight so they allow me to bring in my cabin luggage. What will happen to the mineral bottle in the checked in luggage I have no idea... But should be ok. Just make sure its half water and half air.

For the plants, just carry in plastic bag, sprinkle some water in the plastic bag enough already. No need to keep submersed. Cause the water not going anywhere since its sealed in the plastic bag.

I put fauna after 3weeks setup.1st week a few plant,2nd week put glosso, end of 3rd week i kena algae.that time i put 6 otto,4 sae, 6yamato. I can see that yamato make a landslide & cover all the white sand with amazonia. I also see otto & sae plucked out glosso & some other flora. Now my fauna only left yamato since i giveaway all the otto & sae.

wat i do for mine=

1. put clorox (undiluted) just enough to cover my diffuser. leave it for 5 minutes (or until ceramic of my diffuser is white)
2. wash with water...put antichlorine just enough to cover the diffuser again (leave it roughly ard 5 minutes)
3. using 12cc syringe, (connect with co2 hose, fit perfectly in my case) connect with the diffuser, suck the antichlorine into the diffuser slowly... then when antichlorine dry, terbalik n slowly blow the antichlorine out
4. repeat step 3, n then rendam ( in 2 part water : 1 part antichlorine solution) for roughly 10-20 minutes n it is good as new! biggrin.gif
