how often you guys change/regenerate your purigens? and how long does it takes for you guys to safely to use it again after regenerate it? i only soaked them in clorox for 4-6hours, then soaked them in water + 1 capfull of de-chlorinator for 6-8 hours before using them again. is it okay for long term? it wont harm the fishes right? or the good bacta?

QUOTE(arrow @ Jul 22 2012, 05:49 PM) There should be instruction at the box, if i not mistaken you should soak with 1:1 water to clorox for 24hrs , then rinse well and soak with de-chlorinator(forgot the amount) for another 24hrs before rinse again with water, if i was you i will test with feeder fish/shrimps before putting it back into the main tank, so far i use the Purigen for 1yrs++ but i haven't regenerate it as it still not exhausted yet. thanx bro. ive been regenerating them for every 2 weeks. maybe they turned yellow because of the tannins due to lots of bogwood i dumped each time. so far water stays crystal clear(am i using too much? 1 purigen per feet, so 2 ft = 2 purigen), fish and shrimps not dying but i have to repeat the process every 2 weeks. will try to follow on your advice then.

if youre scared, put some blanced/boiled zucinni, small piece only, remove lefovers after 6 hours. also, take your algae wafers, crushed them into dust, and applied on the blanced zucinni, not a 100% working method, but it help, even it has a low percentage of success rate. i thought mine using this method.

QUOTE(arrow @ Jul 29 2012, 10:32 AM) you really a purigen maniac........ @@, btw did you try seachem matrixcarbon, it is a good partner of mr.purigen. 250ml treat 400L, rm30++ hurm, but it says it will only last for a couple of months.. so should i get it or pair my purigen squad with ADA Bio-Rio? Heard after Bio-rio loses its capabilities, it still can be used as very porous lava rocks? bro arrow, suggest me which one
btw, just successfully install my MIC C filter today. The problems i experience so far is a slight hum sound when i reduce the intake flow(my 2213 also gave the same hum sound) and a few broken clips(duh..you get what you pay, this is not Eheim suction clips lol) but so far, quite please with it.

QUOTE(deric79k @ Jul 31 2012, 12:59 AM) Where u get boraras? theres a few sellers selling them in the lyn pet sectionQUOTE(kimimaro_kun @ Jul 31 2012, 08:10 AM) nice wing.. how much per pieces??? can it clean the gsa and gda on glass and plant??? got it free from a friend when i was in Miri last 2 weeks. well, they arent as good as those SAE, ottos or yamatoes~, but they still eat my hair algae on the wall of my tank, i find they are much more gentle, unlike ottos, they dont swim here swim there, swim up or down when transferred to a new place, but just slowly 'melekat' at the tank dindings QUOTE(kimimaro_kun @ Jul 31 2012, 08:10 AM) this Boraras Brigittae can put inside shrimp tank? since the size is almost the same with CRS this one i can safely say, they are shrimp safe like ottos lol. not 100% sure, but from the looks of their mouth it seems they cant even open wide enuff to eat those shrimp eggs
btw, where to get very fine brown sand? or where can self collect from the wild? looking like the one in the desert type. heard they are not very suitable for aquascaping since they are too fine?

QUOTE(deric79k @ Aug 2 2012, 10:53 PM) Don't need so many fans. Wat size u use? U should try my fan hurm, maybe next time, nowadays, i just use aircond, easier and hassle free since i can cool down 3 of my tanks in my room all at once. btw, you are using AC fan type? Not DC?
