yeah. i used to do the swimming butterfly stroke but now it's water polo butterfly stroke. which is a bit different in the kicking. that's all..

yeah new shopping mall in setia alam.

so what's the hint for breathing and arm pushing backward? I find that both of this is tiring after 25m perhaps my technique is wrong.. I breath every stroke

the usual ones would be kick twice (dolphin kicks), do a wave-like body motion, then move your hands like you're shaping a round lantern or the first curve or a woman's body. after completing one round,  push your hand downwards to push your body up. then breathe. (lol.. it's kinda hard to explain in words.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hLn218BD-lQ

the hint would be the wave-like/snake-like body motion.

sometimes you dont have to breathe once every stroke, you can do two strokes and breathe at once.

lol, this video I saw plenty times liao. kicking I think is fine, as I kick twice, strong first kick and 2nd tiny kick for the purpose to come out and breath. for the arm side, what's the purpose to push the water? I do forming a woman body curve but when doing this the arm is not stretch and hardly push to move forward. if I stretch my arm and straight push behind, then my hand would be tiring and become weaker and weaker after each stroke.

for breathing part, exhale part seem incorrect as when my head surface I still haven't completely exhale and this cause me have no time to inhale before head go back into water..

wow, everybody keep talking about skill.... Best la...
May i know, do swimming can make us fit? How bout body shape? smile.gif
*
want fit body ar sweat.gif I think swimming quite hard to achieve that. even Michael Phelps his body shape also not very muscular 1. it'll stop growing at certain limit and u need to carry dumbbell or any weight lifting workout to grow ur muscle. the resistance u face at water is same, weight training u can increase the resistance by put on the weight of dumbbell or equipment..

it's like that. swimming butterfly is tiring. at first, you find it hard to bring up your arms. but once your get used to it, and get used to the flow of the body, you can bring up both your arms and you find that it's not as hard. do more push ups to strengthen your arm muscle. oh yeah. a flyer ( good in butterfly stroke) usually have big and nice arms broader shoulder.
when you almost finish forming woman's body curve, push down your hands and lift up your forearm ( in line with your shoulder)  and then only spread out your lower arm and join your hand together.

your hands must be strong enough to be able to push the water so that you lift your (upper) body higher.
*
well said notworthy.gif to9 i will try the thing u just mention laugh.gif
i was thinking the way i swam may not technically correct and thus creating unnecessary resistance / drag.

think there's no standard width. 3k inn is 6 lane so i suppose is 10m. but chin woo pool's width seems longer.

yesterday i swam at 3k inn. think every monday there'll divide 1/3 of pool reserve for some kid's training session. those kids really swim very good neh, know all the stroke.

Added on June 2, 2012, 1:24 ambeen swimming on yesterday (Friday) at bukit jalil national aquatic centre v sen. inb4 swam at 3k inn 50m pool, this time bukit jalil swim have the feeling of the pool length seem to be longer than 50m coz my front crawl stroke feel like tired and never ending before reach the other end, lol. after check the internet it was 50m pool at 8 lane, strange.

again, I cramp my right leg when I do front crawl sprint. right leg suddenly feel the excruciating pain when I sprint for about 25 metre..

once you go swedish, you'll never turn back. It is like the cheapest and most comfortable goggle ever. It also has the widest visibility because the eye cup is not covered with bulky rubbers. Many of the competitive swimmers use it AFAIK.

The strap on mine is getting loose and I need to find a replacement soon. A pair costed me around €2 only, which is less than RM10.

ic, think hardly get le as I never saw this also. inside Speedo outlet definitely don't have. but then some Speedo goggle, that series of goggle do have parts can buy. even got parts, those parts also not cheap. parts like those strap, the fixture thingy at nose to tie left and right goggle glasses, 1 side of glass, etc.

My cousin gave me her extra access card in exchange for occasional treats at buffets and movies of her choice.  rclxms.gif   The pool is on the 15th floor. Could meet up on the 15th floor or Papa John's on the ground floor. I will flash you in. When you leave you will not need the access card. Mornings before 9:30am are best for me, but I don't mind swimming in the evenings either as long as I have a swimming buddy to keep me motivated to do a few extra laps. I think the pool timings are 6am-1Opm daily. I contacted Times Square 0321178000 and was told that the pool is 740 sq feet and 4 meters deep. Still cannot figure out the length in meters but it certainly does look lenghty. So anyone keen for swim soon ? Please?...ok........pretty please?  nod.gif
*
hi there, interested to swim at times square. lately been swim quite frequent v the forumer here, senyii.

i think it definitely would be great if u can grant me the access. but preferable on evening. so which evening u wanna invite me to swim over there? tongue.gif

may i know what are the facility they provide such as hot water supply, tower service etc?

Perhaps you could suggest a time that is convenient to you. I would love to swim tomorrow if it is not too soon. The facilities are very basic just a cold shower. Towels are not provided and no hair drier.
*

Added on June 8, 2012, 8:44 amtimes square pool is great i would say, though the shape it not entirely square like the other olympic swimming pool does, however it still a square size pool partially. so u still can swim from end to end for a length seems to be more than 50m laugh.gif it's quite lengthy from end to end compare to the other pool we used to swim.

thanks fins for bring us there.. notworthy.gif

i do free style but i feel v tired, maybe i doin it wrong, my leg must kicking non stop to balance my body n leg but i make me really tired, any technique?
*
the reason is because u're creating unnecessary resistance that dragging u from gliding smoothly.. makesure ur bodyline as horizontal as possible.. one of the reason u need to kick harder i believe is because of ur head and shoulder lifted up too much therefore ur leg drop and thus more resistance as u can't glide smoothly.. try don't lifted up ur shoulder, breath by rotate ur head 90 degree from facing down to facing side only..
