QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jun 7 2012, 06:23 PM) May I know why this is cheaper than the 15R SE in dell website? actually this is the roughly priced... i did chat with dell sales n got a quote. 3yr in-home warranty + backlight keyboard is 31xx only... compare to online which is 3340.. warranty is very important for a notebook especially if u are using with dedicated GC, if u buy outside normally they only comes with 1 year warranty. If you are to extended you require to go bac to dell for extension. the price is usually more expensive than u get direct from dell + warranty. So actually after much calculation it is still the same after all. by the way, i opt for 14" cos 15.6" is too heavy for me.http://www.techhypermart.com/notebooks/del...6-notebook.html RM2609 with everything same except 4GB RAM, this one even better with 1600x900 screen and GT640M GPU. Since I can always add another 4GB RAM myself, is it better to get this than the RM2999 from dell? Added on June 8, 2012, 8:38 am QUOTE(LittleGhost @ Jun 7 2012, 08:00 PM) I did consider momentus XT previously too, but in the end get SSD, 1st momentus XT is stil hdd base, so everything is still "fragile". 2nd i read somewer regarding the reliability of the "cache" which said if the cache spoil, then ur hdd is gone. and 500GB is the 1st gen which is 8GB of cache if i'm not mistaken. in malaysia market stil cant get gen-2 which comes with 16gb cache. tat would almost on par with SSD in some performance.Added on June 8, 2012, 8:40 am QUOTE(tcchuin @ Jun 8 2012, 03:15 AM) you will have to use the 'dell chat' or call them and ask if there's any student discount for specified model. there's not much diff if the model is "hot" model, unless u get those that there are doing promo for studentThis post has been edited by iori_argami: Jun 8 2012, 08:40 AM |

QUOTE(vjin17 @ Jun 8 2012, 12:21 PM) payment made... no refund available...Added on June 8, 2012, 2:20 pm QUOTE(zellleonhart @ Jun 8 2012, 11:46 AM) You didn't understand my question, the point is not the price. The 15R SE offered in techhypermart has GT640M and 1600x900 screen at RM2609, while the one in Dell website is ATI 7730M (weaker) and 1366x768 screen for RM2999. FYI, 15R SE is with 1600x900 screen... and FYI, some spec available to reseller doesnt meant u can get it customize from Dell website. You get it? This GT640M spec is NOT available from Dell website and why you all keep telling me Dell can get backlit and fullHD but my question is the GT640M and 1600x900 screen 15 inch screen with 1600x900 screen is just perfect and GT54640M is faster too. Any comment about this? Regardless of the 3 years warranty, is techhypermart trustable? Regarding trustable, i believe this should not be discuss here. As it involve company etc. You can always call them up to check whether the spec they provided is real or jus cut and paste. Added on June 8, 2012, 2:22 pm QUOTE(vjin17 @ Jun 8 2012, 02:09 PM) haha okok will try call them and see.. i havent receive my laptop yet, work in progress.. i do not think they will provide u $$$ bac... most probably some rebate voucher or so. This is why my dell sales agent haven get back to me as yesterday he keep pushing for my confirmation. He seems to know the rebate is coming and wana close the deal b4 today.but how they gonna give the discount ? just curious o.0 impossible they give me money back rite.. QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Jun 8 2012, 10:59 PM) 1. getting an i7 will mean higher heat, best to avoid if you're using for gaming only... get an i7 only if your work requires the additional processing power i care not of the hdd, as will change to SSD myself... as for the i7, it is required since i run VMs on my machine..2. 500GB (7200rpm) is actually better than a 1TB (5400rpm) HDD since its significantly faster 3. as what iori_argami has mentioned, RAM its better to upgrade yourself since its cheaper doing that~ |
