For the 14R SE, I chatted with Dell sales agent on their website, I don't think it is mistake since they confirm the price with me. If add with 3 years warranty the price will be around 2.5K, if minus student discount 5% which will be around 2375.

I dunno much about GPU, is 640M Kepler weaker? Which one is better?

GT 640M is a decent GPU.
IMHO, I think it is a great laptop for the price.

Only thing I'm worried about is.. it is Dell.
Hopefully it doesn't break down since I'm in Australia.

Anyone know if I can claim warranty from Dell Australia if I buy from Dell Malaysia?

You didn't understand my question, the point is not the price. The 15R SE offered in techhypermart has GT640M and 1600x900 screen at RM2609, while the one in Dell website is ATI 7730M (weaker) and 1366x768 screen for RM2999.

You get it? This GT640M spec is NOT available from Dell website and why you all keep telling me Dell can get backlit and fullHD but my question is the GT640M and 1600x900 screen

15 inch screen with 1600x900 screen is just perfect and GT54640M is faster too. Any comment about this? Regardless of the 3 years warranty, is techhypermart trustable?

I am curious about this too, if really 1600x900 with GT640M the gaming performance should be much better than 1920x1080 with 7730M.

Retail versions seem to have it, although we're not too sure at the moment

for those who purchased the 14/15R SE @ 2999 with the 7% epp discount earlier.. now you can ask for refund of rm200. guess last until this week. call up Dell and they agreed to refund me.

bad news...my new 15R SE rosak... just 2 days only...no gaming...

I'm pretty particular about sound quality - im no expert or an audiophile by any means... but i appreciate a good sound...

Because the speakers are located under the laptop (not directly under of course), the sound reflects of the surface you are putting your laptop on and you can sense that little bit of echo-ish sound to it and sometimes it sounds muffled.
