@.@
thx~~

anyway, izit worth that extra different of Rm 362.07 for
1) i5-3210M to i7-3612QM ,
2) 500gb hard disk 7200rpm to 1tb hard disk 5400rpm
3) 4gb ram to 8gb ram
*
1. getting an i7 will mean higher heat, best to avoid if you're using for gaming only... get an i7 only if your work requires the additional processing power nod.gif
2. 500GB (7200rpm) is actually better than a 1TB (5400rpm) HDD since its significantly faster nod.gif Upgrade to hybrid HDDs or SSD instead if you have the money nod.gif
3. as what iori_argami has mentioned, RAM its better to upgrade yourself since its cheaper doing that~

Hey guys,

I order the inspiron 14r, but forgot to tick 'include the Genuine Windows 7 64 Bit CD' for an extra RM10.
How am I supposed to reformat my laptop if something happens to my laptop?

Thanks.

There will be a program that walks us through the process yes?
I'm not sure how to do it so.. :/

How many empty CDs do we require?
*
I've never used the ones on the Inspirons, but it should be similar to that of Vostros hmm.gif
yes, the procedure is actually the same for all manufacturers.. there should be a program (most will pop up and remind you, very annoying laugh.gif) that you can use the make those recovery discs, usually you'll need 4 DVDs

Do you know any EPP coupon discount number?
*
To be honest, I have no idea.
I would suggest you to try and bargain with a few Dell sales agents, I'm sure they can give some really attractive prices.
One of my friends managed to get a quote for the i7 FullHD Inspiron 15R SE at only RM2.7k- crazy... but in the end he ended up getting a Lenovo Y480 haha tongue.gif

Do I need to be physically there to pick up the order or can someone else like my parents receive the package on my behalf?

You can ask someone else to receive for you, no problems there, just need to sign some documents laugh.gif

Anything I can do to fix it?

Thanks

My Inspiron 14r Special Edition no longer detects my laptop's built-in wireless adapter.

I have to use an external USB Wi-Fi adapter now (Asus WL-167G V3).

Drivers updated? hmm.gif
If not, call for warranty support nod.gif Your laptop should be less than 1 year old right? hmm.gif

Is the 14rSE i5 worth the buck?

When compared to a similarly priced lenovo z480, which one would be better?
*
QUOTE(PF T.J. @ Sep 22 2012, 11:45 AM)
Nope, the amount of heat and power consumption of 7,200rpm HDD are negligible nod.gif

Here are the specifications for the laptops you are considering:
14"
Dell Inspiron 14R (Special Edition), i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M(28nm Kepler)@RM2049[2.38kg], 4GB, 500GB(7200rpm); backlit keyboard optional *price promotion until 27/09/2012
Lenovo Z480, i5-3210M + Nvidia GT640M@RM2299, 4GB, 1TB(5400rpm) W7HB, colors: grey/red/blue, 2 years international warranty

The Dell has better speakers, better on-site warranty support (if covered [recommended]), faster HDD, lower price and W7HP... so the choice is obvious I think?  brows.gif

To all Sifus here,

Could I get a Dell 15R SE (with Ivy Bridge) but without a dedicated graphics card?

I don't actually need the dedicated graphic as I want the notebook to run as cool and as energy efficient as possible.

Thanks.

Unfortunately no sad.gif
But you can take a look at the cheaper Inspiron 15 with i3 smile.gif

Thanks for the reply.

Is that mean Inspiron 15 with i3-3217U/3227U (is it Inspiron 15R SE or no SE?) have that option?

I would also would like to know if it is possible to get model that come with no OS as I really don't like Windows 8 thus I want to install Windows 7 myself.

Thanks.
