14R SE is using Nvidia GT640M instead of ATI 7730M...

Curious about the FPS too, though I would be getting the 15R with FHD instead.
*
Gaming on FHD resolution will decrease FPS, but you can always lower the resolution.. the 7730M should be able to handle most, if not all games smoothly at HD+ resolution hmm.gif

im suspecting the nvidia 640m is giving problems. even nvidia official website doesnt have driver support for 640m and 650m. used the auto detect driver and it cant detect my driver version too. gonna contact dell technical site tmr and send them the minidump file.
*
It'll take some time before official Nvidia drivers are available since these GPUs are new...
I've experienced the same thing with my GT555m last year hmm.gif

Alright I'm going to order dell SE version but I'm really confused on which one one to buy the 14R (2999), 15R (2999), or 15 R (3399) (32GB ssd) (FHD) sad.gif

Which one is the best for gaming & other work like assignments ?
*
You might want to check with devour again since he just mentioned that the Inspiron 15R SE offered by dealers are a bit different from what you get online i.e. they come with Nvidia GT640M instead..
You do get better software support (Photoshop etc) for Nvidia cards, although that depends on what softwares you're using hmm.gif
But if you're only using for gaming, I guess getting the AMD card will do as well nod.gif

What do i do with the stock HDD if i plan to replace it with a SSD?
Sell it ? I've got plenty of space left on my external Hard disc
*
Most ppl place it in a caddy and then use as external HDDs...
You can try your luck selling it if you want.. but the chances of ppl interested in it is low hmm.gif

Why is it so cheap leh?
Typo?
The graphic card is Kepler yeah?
*
My guess is typo... its not uncommon hmm.gif
It should be Kepler based on the description, which is the same as the RM2.9k 14R SE

GT 640M is a decent GPU.
IMHO, I think it is a great laptop for the price.

Only thing I'm worried about is.. it is Dell.
Hopefully it doesn't break down since I'm in Australia.

Anyone know if I can claim warranty from Dell Australia if I buy from Dell Malaysia?
*
For Dell, 3 years warranty = international warranty..

You can transfer your warranty to Australia through Dell's website nod.gif
International warranty is applicable if the country you are in is also offering the laptop you're using nod.gif

Dell 15R SE shouldn't have GT640M. Only the Dell 14R SE has it. Do you have the links to the techhypermart?
*
Retail versions seem to have it, although we're not too sure at the moment hmm.gif
