Above is a vid showing the disallowed goal for USA in 2010 world cup.
And one of the commentator said, in american football, the referee have to use a microphone to announce it to the 80,000 fans why he made such a judgment or decision.
And I think its right. Football referees should give reasons with video back up of those big decisions he made. Big ones include yellow card, red card, free kick, penalty and disallowed goal. what cha think?

no need to explain.. as a player and manager they should know about this rule.. that's why for manager they have license approved by FIFA.. for spectator, we should learn and learn.. not questioning..
A direct free kick offence occurs when a player commits any of the following in a manner considered by the referee to be careless, reckless or using excessive force:
-Kicking or attempting to kick an opponent -Tripping or attempting to trip an opponent -Jumping at an opponent -Charging an opponent -Striking or attempting to strike an opponent -Pushing an opponent
Or commits (one of) the following offences: -Holding an opponent -Spitting at an opponent -Handling the ball deliberately (except for the goalkeeper within his own penalty area).

There's nothing much we can do as humans. Mistakes will always be made ..
That was one poor refereeing decision, though. The goal was perfectly legitimate when USA scored but if they did not, he should have given a penalty because it looks like 3 American players were being held.
There will never be consistency either.
As for fouls, dives, cards, tackles, goals .. if we're going to review every incident, it will take alot of time but yeah, I would just prefer the referee making the call, then reviewing in his report why he thought something was such and such.
