Question for any laptop is
"Will it overheat"?
Ideally should spend some time with a display unit, loading in games and playing them
BUT
in Malaysia does such a setup exist?

Better to get the laptop, confirm got 1-to-1 exchange within a week,
Use annual leave,
use that laptop for 1 week with extreme gaming (at least 1 day, try gaming for 24 hours).

Then you will know.

There is 1 to 1 (for MANY computer dealers),
BUT
BIG, HIGH TEMPERATURE, UNUSABLE PROBLEM has to happen within 1 week.
e.g. graphic card stops working,
e.g. display dead
e.g. cannot boot

Small problem like:
My keyboard got issue with some keys
or
Doesn't detect USB device ...

You will be waiting a LOOOONG time

As long as you are not the unfortunate one, that is okay.
Consumer laws weak in Malaysia therefore
After sales support must be strong.

Besides, most people have no choice but to buy retail, pay via iPmart there are problems too.
Just too bad for users that don't have the chance to "thrash" their machines just after they get it.

i do agree on the weak enforcement part... we r too smart to find the loopholes in the system

Best Support, no doubt  - Dell, HP, Lenovo ... All these got option for onsite support NBD ........ Option means, when you buy/add-on warranty, open eye big big, there are multiple types of warranty, some onsite some no, so dont blame ppl if you dont make it clear when you do your purchase, esp if you buy from fair, you must enquire in DETAIL. Sometimes unit with "sales" come with carry in warranty, means u need to go their center no on-site ...... Ask ask ask and read read read ...

Want to risk yourself, Asus ... Check out a long thread, you will know how GREAT Asus laptop support is
Acer laptop, commercial got onsite support NBD ... Acer consumer laptop, not sure, better ask

NBD = Next Business Day Support

Lenovo... i never deal with consumer laptop, but business class laptops for my companies

We are using E430, E440 and E450, E440 giving the most issue to us, we had logged more than 20 cases to Lenovo, but each time their engineer onsite, they are not able to find the root cause. All of the necessary logs, print screen, etc, that they request are send to them periodically, and their engineer also collecting data and clone an image of the HDD for testing purpose, but still not able to catch the bug.

we had complaint till their AP (Asia Pacific) CS level. Yes they are fast respond, but always no permanent solution on our cases. At the end of the day, we discovered that the pre-install Lenovo SW is the root cause that giving us blue screen, slow files loading, etc. We had feedback to our Lenovo AP Account Manager, but they keep defending on their bloody SW, until I deliver 1 unit of E440 that without any Lenovo SW to their SG Office and let them test run, then only they send down their engineer to our office and uninstall all un-necessary Lenovo SW. this case had been dragged for 7 months!

For Dell, so far so good, each time if there is case logged, they respond very fast and follow up closely. I kinda like their service

FYI, we had 150++ units of Lenovo, 40++ Dell, 15 MS Surface Pro 3, and 10++ Asus  in my company, each unit subscribed 3 yrs NBD, except Asus that doesn't have option on NBD.

Below is the cases logged statisic for your reference (year 2015, Jan till August):
Lenovo - 27 cases
Dell - 6 Cases
Asus - NIL
MS Surface Pro 3 - 2 cases

Hope above info can help you out biggrin.gif
