My anticipation is, 2Q is going to be worse than 1Q, 1Q only capture 1 months (slightly less than 1 month, indeed), and the operating is already red (means the collection of tickets not even enough to cover running cost, don't talk about depreciation and financial cost etc.). 2Q is the first quarter that is going to capture the impact of MH370, so if 1Q loss 2.65 sen, 2Q is likely to be worse. Someone might say the NAV was 24 sen last month, thus make sense to buy at 22 sen etc., but right now the NAV is 21 sen, so the argument still valid?. Put it into the real time mode, now is already half 2Q passed, so there might be another 1 sen or 2 lost by now, just the account will not be published until July the earliest. Also government might bail it out, but sometime I just wonder why government keep telling us GST is a must to reduce the deficit on one hand and keep bailing out company with big buck on the other hand; sometime it is hard to justify that, if they have to. Just my 2 sen…

Do you think they can sell the asset at the book value during auction? Chances is no, 50% discount is very very great price you can get. Normally when company fold, you will see equipment worth RM1,000 going for RM50, and creditors will ring fence whatever is charge to them, plus other asset if they think the asset value worth less than what they due. Even building will be write down, bank will dig out ten thousand reason like roof leak, toilet cloak, lift rosak to justify that...

Judging from the way they burn money, the NAV probably nearing RM0.19 by now, and the most important thing is, they don't seem to have a plan to turn around the company, and government don't seem to have the will to bail them out yet, if this situation drag until year end, the NAV should be around RM0.13 then... I don't think that's wise to gamble like that, as your fate is on others' mercy. At least Najib make a right move now by exploring chances to let it bankrupt, he should done that last round... rclxms.gif bailout is not some entitlement...

No, it is because of him, he gave a wake up call to the people, but there are so many people in the street actually buying the share after the MH370 incident, some relatives of my also saying they have 'tips' that MAS might go up etc. I hope they had listened to me when I told them to forget about that, the price then was not justified...

Sometime can, if you have a lot of assets, rather then letting the assets depreciate and overhead running for nothing, small loss might be justifiable. But for MAS, that mught not be the case... Cost cutting is immediate priority, but the service quality cannot suffer too much...

You go and check on bursa, how many of the carry Malaysia in their name; some also have Sarawak, Penang, Perak, Selangor etc... If government need to bailout every one of them when they run into trouble, then I want to register a company with all the words loh... Malaysia Perlis Kedah Pulau Pinang Perak Selangor Negeri Sembilan Melaka Johor Pahang Terengganu Kelantan Sabah Sarawak Bhd...

One thing puzzling, why majority passengers boarding our national airline are foreigners? Malaysian too poor to travel with them, or have no faith on them? hmm.gif
