Did a comparison of the different markets Fighter Aircraft Collection is selling in, and suggesting that our Malaysia / Singapore market will be similar in issue numbers as South Africa (sorry to disappoint you guys), I think we might not be getting the followings:

1. Su 27 Flanker (major crap!!!)
2. Mig 21 (very crap!!!)
3. Heinkel 162 (crap!!!)
4. F9F Panther (crap!!)
5. Mig 3 (crap!)
6. F 86 (crap...)
7. T-6 Texan (crap?)
8. Mirage III ( ok, this has to be crap!!!)

Time to get those of Ebay then....

Any defects, missing parts, or concerns to look out for when we all go get the issues?
Would appreciate any heads up info that might help with quality control...
Thanks!

The thing about the Bf110 is that it's 1/100 scale which is damn weird. It doesn't fit with the WW2 aircrafts (1/72) and it doesn't belong anywhere near the modern planes. I have no idea where to put it with...

Did a little reading and found out that the Bf110 was developed primary as a heavy fighter aircraft, but it failed miserably in the Battle of Britain and was relegated to night fighter where it proved more successful. on the eastern front, Bf110 did provide ground attack capability and functioned as a fighter bomber. So technically, it belongs with the fighter aircrafts and not with the dedicated bombers, but this is only important if you were segregating your warplanes into their roles and era, which I do for my collection... Otherwise, just lumping them together would suit most everyone fine... biggrin.gif

I must say it is a welcome gesture as the bombers have already run out at Allscript . It's a shame there is no B52 in it. Will be a nice addition for those who missed it. Guys, if you don't have this yet, grab it while you still can. Talked to Allscript and had a gut feeling they won't be bringing more of these planes in as the response has been less than satisfactory... Sad...

new here. How to buy the mag and model?
*
You can go or call up Allscript as they are the sole distributor for these magazines...

ALLSCRIPT ESTABLISHMENT (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD,
NO 16 JALAN TP3,
TAMAN PERINDUSTRIAN SIME UEP,
47620 SUBANG JAYA,
SELANGOR DARUL EHSAN, MALAYSIA

TEL: +603-80207112/+603-80207122/+603-80207312
FAX: +603-80207119
E-MAIL: vathi@allscript.com.my

However, you can't get anymore bombers unless someone is willing to sell it. No more stocks available at Allscript.
As of todate, the P-47 is available at your local stores. Past issues you have to get from Allscript. Ms Vathi is quiet helpfull. Depending on her mood, somethings also like thunderstorm brewing, he...he...he...

p/s : look at our past posts (ahem.. from the beginning page 1 ) to get a review of the planes in this series and decide whether you want them or not.

Yahoo! Allscript, please continue to prove me wrong! I am very excited to know we will be getting the He162 and the Mig21 as my predictions based on the market indicated we would not be having these 2 planes. Keeping my fingers crossed for the Su27 now.

Adding to that, last 2 planes for Australia is not even fighter aircrafts. More like imports from the bomber series.

Just modify my magazine for issue 11 and 12 to fit in the binder icon_rolleyes.gif
and surprisingly, the magazines are not quite hard to modify as i imagine biggrin.gif
*
Yeah, the mag quality can be found wanting sometimes... Hence the easy modification. Cant say the same for my Air Combat Collection though. Too hard and too thick to modify like the later. And most of the plastic fittings on the plane snap easily, my Bf110 radar antenna snapped off while I was trying to straighten it. Either the plastics are too soft or too hard. The antenna behind the pilot of my F4U was snapped off clean without me even realising it. Until I opened it up and saw the piece rattling about... Used superglue for both remedy and is now looking fine.... biggrin.gif

Guys, if you had to choose only one, between Amercom's Hawker Hurricane and Fairey Swordfish, which would you get?

Definitely the Fairey Swordfish. Even though a biplane, it performed very well as a torpedo bomber famous for disabling Germany's Bismarck before the Royal Navy finally sank it. It also outlived its intented successor the Albacore but finally in the end was replaced by Barracuda, a monoplane. smile.gif
