Congrats to torres. He made the right decision to leave us.Just not the manner in which he left.

Anyway good news for those who don't think rafa is the right man(including me tongue.gif ).

Torres will be going back to spain.Don't get your hopes up.Besides he isn't the player he once was.

Please stop clinging to the past and let's start looking forward.

I've always wondered why everton were a hopeless club.I guess it has a lot to do with karma.

I was reading rafa's website and i saw something particularly interesting.

Hi rafe I have a question which is off the topic ... I became the fan of liverpool ever since i witnessed a special brand of football livepool played under you especially after the arrival of fernando torres.... you changed the system from 442 >451 then liverpool had most of possession /1 touch movements/ played the ball with speed everything was perfect on the way suddenly a change on your mind ...... what's made you more special for barry than alonso........?

Response:

Hello, we were playing 1-4-2-3-1 it depends of the movements of the wingers. Barry is a good international english player, good professional and can play in three positions. Good for the team and good for the future and good for the club. Alonso submit a transfer request. Thanks.

I read further comments and i saw this. This doesn't help change my mind that he isn't the right person.

Mark anfield
Rafa, what do you think is the more effective style? A team with superior defence but inferior attack or a team with superior attack and inferior defence? I.e chelsea v barca/bayern.

Response:

Hello Mark, the balance is the key, but better defences win more leagues. Thanks.

I don't like his slant towards defending.Real madrid conceded more than barca this season yet they won the league.
His tactics suit italy the best not the premiership.

Van de boer rejects LFC saying he is loyal to ajax.

Some fun quips from rafabenitez.com forums

A 'John Henry' wrote
"Brilliant again Rafa. Do you want the job?"

another 'John W Henry' posted
"hello Mr benitez,

greetings from Boston. I shall get in touch with you soon. The outcry of fans wanting the return of the rafalution on my twitter these past couple of days haa been crazy. After seeing cheski's success there is no doubt that you are my man. Talk to you soon lad. "
It hilarious what some fellow fans write!

But you can almost sense some of humour from rafa himself.
*
LOL.I saw another comment.

Time to quit this punditry and get to the real job now.

for me i dun mind if he has big ego, but i mind until now he is waiting to see if there's any offer from other club before deciding to accept us, so clearly we are 2nd grade club to him
*
No he is not.No manager wants to one of the many. He's just waiting for the offer from FSG.

I don't think it's a difficult choice between roma and liverpool.

Added on May 22, 2012, 2:32 amDeschamps ruled out Liverpool job.

Do we gonna like to ask everyone??!
*
That's a wrong approach. We are not at the level of madrid or barca. We are not even the level of united, city or chelsea.

We are currently in the third level. We have got to get used to rejection just like how top players have rejected us in the past.

Rafa Benitez has not been approached by Liverpool and I believe there is no plan to do it for now

Think again though imagine if he was only a small partner/investor in FSG while Roma is of his own property, he invested a sum of money in FSG, FSG in turn buys Liverpool but the club does not belong to him or any other partners because legally FSG is considered to be another entity (a person). Depending on how much he invested in the investment group he will get an annual return for his investments whereas at Roma, his Dibenedetto group that purchased the club consists of other investors as well but he is the largest shareholder and also the current president of the club.

So if it were you, would you have a better manager at a club you have more shares in (Roma) or less (Liverpool)? Maybe he saw some negatives of AVB and decided not to go with him.
*
if you were Dibenedetto would you want to piss off fellow shareholders and chairman?

there is no reason why avb wouldn't do well at roma.

SO, if we brace it... that AVB is coming, how would you guys think? Actually, I've a personal preference, why not martin o neill? tongue.gif
*
No thanks.Martin O neill is another known admirer of british players.

not sure if liverpool fans can tolerate another few transfer windows of that nonsense.

read this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/...own-talent.html and take a look at aston villa now.

As usual fans getting carried away by pointless stats.

If anything, stats cost damien comolli his job.

The most important stat for a player is goal and assist especially if you are a winger, creative midfielder or striker.

Owners can be proven right too as mike ashley did with newcastle.he came in for a lot of criticism but now those nay-ers have zipped it.

I also don't understand why SOS are calling for FSG to reveal information when the liverpool way is keeping things behind closed doors.

I think it's best if you guys stop splitting into this pro Kenny, anti kenny group. He is sacked. All done and dusted. Please stop name calling, sarcasm that might lead to "cyber war" in this thread.
*
Can you honestly tell who is doing all this splitting job with the name calling?

Ian Ayre today insisted Liverpool are continuing to make progress as they edge closer to making a decision over their stadium.

Update on the new stadium
*
I swear i hate the term progress after this year.Ian ayre is telling the same thing he said last year.

If we want a new stadium, first we have to get into the CL.Anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.

What about rafa benitez as director of football?I am sure he would work well with martinez as manager.
If things go wrong, rafa can always become caretaker.

However,i think a potential power struggle will erupt if rafa benitez is director of football and andre villas boas becomes our manager.Their ideologies are very different.

I am not too sure benitez would be keen to take up DoF as he still wants to manage and win things.

If you read between the lines,AVB wants proper backing from the owners and assurance they won't sack him halfway through like roman did.
