It could work but ideally, you'd want the DOF to come in first and establish the technical planning. And then from there, you select the manager/coach that is most suitable for the task. It just makes the candidate selection process a lot simpler. Instead of comparing one system to another, you only have to pick the very one that conforms to the technical outlay i.e the football philosophy.

It's a lot like building a house. You want to first meet the architect so that he can start designing and producing the blueprint. Only then you can hire the contractors based on their ability to construct the design.

try telling that to Guillem Balague. He's been trying to tell people that Pep said "MONTHS", not "MONTH". yet the media buzzes about Pep ready to take offer to any club after 1 month.

Although if you ask me, a former Barcelona manager in the form of Frank Ridjaard (can't spell his name right) hasn't been on fire ever since he was courted to some middle east club. (not sure what's the real picture, but then...)
