Another tough start to the season. We could be out of the title race by October. =X

I would say if we get both M'Vila and Giroud to add to Podolski this would be one of the most satisfying summer in recent memory.

I really like the look of Giroud. Present him a chance and he would have no qualms sticking the ball in the net. Reminds of Eduardo only Giroud is much bigger, stronger, faster and equally comfortable hitting the ball with either foot. Looks good in the air as well. All the attributes you would want in an old fashioned striker.

Song/M'Vila + Arteta/Wilshire in the middle with Poldi left and Walcott/Gervinho right and Van P right behind Giroud?

The possibilities are endless. Very mouthwatering indeed.

Beautiful players playing beautiful football for the Arsenal next season. RVP/Podolski/Giroud. Most good looking strike-force in world football

We will have a sharp increase in female supporters next season IMO. brows.gif

How the hell did Venky's come to that decision? no wonder they have been relegated. Shebby Director of Football? LOL

I guess the bright side is we won't have to listen to his nonsense on ESPN/STAR for the foreseeable future.

Lol you must be joking, if passing sideways and backwards and doing nothing in the final third meant France outplaying Spain, then yeah.

With France now out, Giroud announcement within the next few days?

I was a little underwhelmed by M'Vila though. Great technique and tackling. Passing considered very good for a DM but his work rate was very poor. Seemed rather contented to wait for the ball rather than go for it.

I'm not sure if he is just being cautious about his ankle injury but he didn't strike me as better than what we already have in Song and to an extent Diaby. But I guess with the latter always out injured it wouldn't hurt to have more bodies.

Same here dude. Damn Nasri, spoiled my yellow jersey lol

I had RVP on mine last year as well. Podolski seems an attractive option but till now still no news on the number he is wearing and I can't waitttt any longer to get my hands on the new jerseyyy

bcos im tired of player who dont know how to repay good faith done by this club.if he want to sign, he done it already smile.gif

Say you are working and your current company pays you 2k a month, showed great faith in you in the past 8 years even though due to some circumstances you screwed up a tonne of jobs and decided to give you a raise this year to 5k a month after a good year, nothing more nothing less. Suddenly a mega rich company comes in and offer you 15k - 20k a month salary. Would you show loyalty and stay or leave?

I know it differs in in a sense their earning megabucks but players' careers are short and realistically this will be RVP's last big contract before he reaches the twilight of his career. To you they might be termed as "players" but its their rice bowl and their job. Sometimes its also not just about the money and there are a lot of other things to take into consideration. If he signs then superb, if he leaves then its perfectly understandable and I won't begrudge RVP the same as I didn't begrudge Thierry when he decided to move to Barca.

If this has been posted before I apologise. Anyway here is RVP's full statement:

QUOTE
This is an update for the fans about my current situation. I have kept quiet all this time out of respect and loyalty for the club and as agreed with Mr. Gazidis and Mr. Wenger, but since there is so much speculation in the media, I think it is fair for you guys to know what’s really going on at the moment.

As announced earlier this year I had a meeting with the Boss and Mr. Gazidis after the season. This was a meeting about the club’s future strategy and their policy. Financial terms or a contract have not been discussed, since that is not my priority at all.

I personally have had a great season but my goal has been to win trophies with the team and to bring the club back to its glory days. Out of my huge respect for Mr. Wenger, the players and the fans I don’t want to go into any details, but unfortunately in this meeting it has again become clear to me that we in many aspects disagree on the way Arsenal FC should move forward.

I’ve thought long and hard about it, but I have decided not to extend my contract. You guys, the fans, have of course the right to disagree with my view and decision and I will always respect your opinions.

I love the club and the fans, no matter what happens. I have grown up and became a man during my time with Arsenal FC. Everybody at the club and the fans have always supported me over the years and I have always given my all (and more) on and off the pitch. I am very proud of being part of this fantastic club for the last 8 years.

As soon as Mr. Gazidis is back from his 2-week holiday in America further meetings will follow and I will update you if and when there are more developments.

Robin van Persie

Dafuq is Gazidis doing in America during this crucial period? He should have done so during the EUROS when everyone was taking a break and not AFTER.

some day man city will be doom..... next season i want MU, Liverpool, Newcastle, Arsenal, Spurs to beat the hell out of city....

Come on get a grip. You're acting like a child who just got his favourite toy taken away. Players come and go. I was more gutted when the King left. 8 in 8 vs RVP's 1 in 8.

Its a sad day for football though. The word "Loyalty" has been thrown down the gutter, not that its surprising though at the way things are headed.

Good grief. I think this must have prompted RVP to leave
