The only difference is SME set, you claim your warranty from Samsung SC and AP you claim your warranty from the shop you bought from or it's distributor.

Yes, you have a choice of pink if you decide to go for AP.

Software wise, it's all the same.

actually ap set just a warranty different. like motherboard 1 year warranrty, screen 1 month, battery 1 month something like that. some of ap warranty still cover after rooting still given warranty.

Get AP sets from reliable resellers with shops, not from those kiosks sellers. Such sellers get their units from A who get it from B or even down to C. If your unit has problem, it'd be a great hassle as the seller need to pass it back to A who will than pass it to B or even C than only to the authorized importer
My personal experience, I have no problems generally with AP sets except only one time a HTC Touch Pro where I need a motherboard change. However the seller was very efficient and I got it back in 10 days
Make sure the AP set that you buy comes with a warranty card showing the authorized importer ( must be Msian ) and not some foreign country importer

Yeah it should be okay. I've bought many AP phones before, even my Note is AP.

SGN SME is around RM1900-1999. For AP you can get it around RM1500-1600.
But pink is a different price.

Get SME set if u got enough budget , get AP set if u got no enough budget

uncle benny i read someone post on video cursed4eva doing root to ics stunner the rom breaking his note. Need to change the motherboard etc. Im affraid the same thing will happen to my note. But im really want to try ics stunner for.my daily usage. My battery now is drain so so fast.
