QUOTE(benny888 @ May 11 2012, 01:13 PM) You need to flash it if you want CWM recovery back Thank you uncle benny.Added on May 11, 2012, 1:16 pm If you are on ICS, safest is still use the default kernel based on official rom. Download it CF-Root-SGN_XX_OXA_LPY-v5.3-CWM5.zip : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1331784 My impressions of the German build of ICS and screenshots now up at my blog: http://leemn.wordpress.com/2012/05/11/impr...axy-note-n7000/ I already download the kernal for ICS. (Just in case) i want to flash back to GB, which kernal would you recommend? |

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 11 2012, 02:35 PM) Noted. So before i flash to any rom. I need to confirm the compatibility of the kernal right?Which mean before i flash from GB to ICS, i need to use CF-Root-SGN_XX_OXA_LPY-v5.3-CWM5. Or if i want to flash from ICS to GB, i need to use Abyss 3.9. Correct me if i'm wrong. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 11 2012, 03:03 PM) I don't know what you really want to do LOL. I apologize for the confusion. Your questions are inconsistent n contradictory You want to flash official ics just flash it no need worry about its kernel ad it comes with the rom. Unless you are already on ics unsafe kernel than flash cf lp kernel From ics to gb you decide which method you want to use. If use odin in PC just flash the gb rom. No need worry about kernel. If you want to use recovery mode you can flash abyss 4.2 n use it to flash gb rom I'm currently with Stunner 1.4.19 with leaked Kernal. To avoid by any chance getting hardbrick, i'm plan to flash to stock GB with a safe kernal by this weekend and wait for the official ICS. Since the official ICS has been launched few days back. I might go ahead and get a try, but i see some of the Gnote owner here is facing some lagginess issue of the phone. So, i'm asking some questions to flash the rom between GB and ICS before i start the flash. I don't quite understand about the kernal, and if it might get my phone hardbricked by using leaked kernal (i'm using it now). So it would be better to be more cautious before anything happen. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 11 2012, 03:29 PM) It is safe to flash from Stunner directly to the German ICS build. No need to change any recovery. Thank you uncle benny. You flash using Odin in PC - no need concern about present kernel You flash thro Mobile Odin - it goes thro your Stunner LP5 kernel recovery - and this is making users nervous as LP5 kernel is deem unsafe. But so far no users has reported bricking using it to flash the German build. If you worry , than use MObile Odin to flash first the LPY kernel first if you don't mind the extra work. Personally I feel is not necessary and just a waste of time and effort. Do it if you wish Will try it once i complete downloading the German ICS. Download from hotfile is a pain in the a**. 7-8kb/s. |

QUOTE(benny888 @ May 12 2012, 12:51 AM) YES correct . But kernel safe or not is now debatable as the kernel is now deem possibly also unsafe - latest news release today from XDA Yea, thanks for the confirmation. Finally flash to official ICS w/o any problem. But in previous posts, i found out a lot of users facing some lag using this rom, how come mine like no problem one? |
