so if i were to use them, i need to connect the 4 pins from my storage to the CD4066 and each SPI from the board to the specific CD4066. And then using an inverter(NAND gate) connect it from one board to the I/Cs..only with one before the inverter and one after..right?
but for the directs, it seems i need to specify the directions.. hmm.gif

You need two CD4066 I.Cs. One I.C for each board. That CD4066 is the most simplest switch, and its bidirectional (you can think of it as a solid state relay). Simply connect together all 4 control pins together to the output of one gate to control all 4 switches together. This switch is positive activated. You can use a single control line with an inverter (or two inverters chained together, with second inverter as 1-to-1 logic state output while the first inverter as 1-to-0 logic state output) to create two select states for each control line. For inverters, you can use a simple inverter/NOT gate, NAND gate or NOR gate. You can also use a simple NPN transistor (with pull up resistor) as an inverter depending on your preference. The 4 I/O lines from each CD4066 I.C are connected together respectively as the 4 common I/O line to the storage device. How much more simple can that be? wink.gif

Much better. Yups, you've got it. And its that simple. That master control line toggles between either group of switches on each I.C. thumbup.gif

Can also use the CD4016 as well, which is nearly the same as CD4066. You should be able to acquire these I.Cs as DIP14 form which makes it easy to use on prototyping boards such as the breadboard where you can experiment first. You can also chain a second inverter to the first inverter to get 1:1 output and not put load on the master control line. wink.gif

anyone can recommend a good online electronic store?
also, it will be a good addition if they sell cheap multimeter as well.
mine went missing and I felt like making a new project. hmm.gif

Hi everyone, i am new in this thread and a student of Electronic engineer. notworthy.gif

since this is electronic thread, did anyone build a Analog Digital converter (ADC) for computer USB to 3.5mm headjack ? i saw it is selling in Garage sales but it is expensive, thought to make one myself but cant get any info sweat.gif

For online electronic stores, try RS Components, Farnell/element14 and/or Mouser. As for cheap multimeters, better try Pasar Road. wink.gif

Simple, get any USB to LPT/parallel/printer port adapter first (can find them easily). Then build your desired ADC to interface with that LPT/parallel/printer port. There are also ADCs that has integrated USB interface, though mostly were for audio frequency range... hmm.gif

Of course you need to make the circuit board yourself, or simply use any prototyping boards. As for circuit diagrams, there are plenty of examples out there. Choice of circuit and components used very much depends on number of inputs/channels, type of input source (whether its audio or direct), speed (samples per second or sampling frequency range/scope) and sample resolution (number of bits). Anyway, what is the purpose of the ADC? hmm.gif

oh, ok.
it actually enhance the sound quality if not mistake. because the ready made one is convert USB to audio jack, and most of the people use it instead of the original build in audio jack.
and recently i realize my Asus laptop audio jack will emit 'wiii' sound when i plug in earphone. i tried different earphone but still the same. i did use those earphones on my phone but don't have the 'wiii' sound. so thought to make one. sweat.gif

Earphone and "USB to audio"? Are you looking for ADC (analog to digital converter), or DAC (digital to analog converter)? A lot of difference there, the opposite of each other. If you hear some noise such as buzzing, hissing and/or crackling then possibly badcaps (at the output coupling and/or decoupling side), and/or noisy power supply to the integrated HD audio I.C. Nowadays USB soundcards are pretty cheap, and can find them in most places. There are also some affordable USB DACs cum HiFi soundcards... hmm.gif

i think is ADC. haha. because i saw it quite some time ago. never mind then. just ask to see whether anyone know how to build.
i see... ok, will try to search for it. thanks notworthy.gif

Does anybody own a Hakko fx888d Soldering Station ? Where to buy in malaysia, how much did you buy it for?

I'm still thinking if I should get a Soldering Station or Soldering Iron.
