QUOTE(deepan84 @ May 11 2012, 08:31 PM) just collected my car. I have a few grouses. 1. the laggy throttle issue1. my chasis is around 1300. feel sluggish wen moving slow. have to tekan paddle to move from idle. 2. d car wen idle to bout 5km/h got some loud vibrating sound. after exceeding 10km/h no more sound. its damn irritating. 3. engine sound kinda loud and all sorta weird sounds comin in except traffic noise. 4. wen braking from bout 40km/h above, got some weird helicopter chopper sound. not so loud but noticable. 5. interior feels large but cheap. 6. gear shift almost no light. Very very dim. only can see 'N'". 7. dashboard hard to close back. damn cheap feeling. other than that d car feels ok for the price. i somehow feel persona was more responsive and lighter. the point no.2 is damn irritatin and im goin to the service centre to get it sorted out. would rate the car 7/10 (takin into account the price aswell). 2. better send to SC to rectify. FUCUK THEM!!! 3. WIll get use to it sooner... 4. its the CVT whine. Exist in all Proton cars with PUNCH CVT, no matter VT2 or VT3. 5. o.o 6. SC to rectify 7. dashboard? U mena glovebox issit? |

Most of the "global Ford car crap" comes from Ford North America.
Prior to the American depression crisis, Ford use to run two main different companies under its arm, one which focus on the North American market and another which focus on the European market. When the crisis occur, Ford needs something to save them and the entire company and its subsidiary comes under review, and the decision was Ford Europe to take over the Ford NA to make a whole new line up for the whole world, all regions shares the same model and same name. Thats why the Fiesta isn't popular in the US till only recently. Now they are eying on the Asean market. |

QUOTE(ckk125 @ May 12 2012, 05:41 PM) haha...brace yourselves, proton absorbers only costs ~RM150ea for front and RM100ea for rear. exactly. Those who complained expensive are either got chopped outside or they didn't put much effort to find the lowest cost spare parts.no other car makers can give such price. hondas, mitsu and toyotas charge 3 times the amount. fyi, the lancer's absorbers cost 5 times more than the inspira. proton high maintenance? one of the lowest actually. |

QUOTE(dares @ May 13 2012, 12:03 AM) Yep. S will result in stronger engine braking. I am, of course, speaking from experience from using the CVT from my Saga which is also from Punch Powertrain, but different model (Saga is VT2, Preve is VT3). both sama sajaVT3 is based on VT2 with stronger and bigger parts. VT2 is an "evolution" of VT1 which was previously developed by ZF for Mini and Rover, etc. This post has been edited by V12Kompressor: May 13 2012, 01:13 AM |

QUOTE(dares @ May 13 2012, 01:17 AM) no relation at all. ZF wants to concentrate on making conventional automatics and keep on pushing the cog war in automatic transmission because automatics are more popular in Europe, so ZF sell off all its research and patents in CVT to PUNCH. Punch further develop the ZF CVT and the result is VT2, VT3 and VT4. Just good business. |

QUOTE(Rick Federer @ May 13 2012, 10:56 AM) Does that mean when we are caught in a jam going up Cameroon highlands, we should not inch forward conventionally? I presume we should wait till the gap is at least 1.5 car then we step hard on the throttle to close in. Am I right? yup, or you can find the throttle sweet spot aka, not too little nor too much throttle. Apply the throttle to that sweet spot then release handbrake. Thats how I inch forward in traffic jam to block those curi ayam drivers... QUOTE(alohaxD @ May 13 2012, 11:27 AM) thinking to book for preve. any good service of SA u guys have? i live near puchong IOI there. thanks alot =) whats the color you're interested with? red color...
IIRC, there's some issue with red paint now... but I'm not sure whether it has been resolved or not. One of the member here has gotten his fire red though. |
