Samsung separate washer make more sense when one break down, another one still can use?

Samsung combo: individual unit of washer & dryer. Because separate washer+dryer, when stacked up you need to be tall enough to reach the dryer dial, might be difficult if you/tenants/family are short. You can easy to replace the units and you don't need experienced/special installer to bring in.

LG Washtower are two separate units but housed in one shell & share one control board. Easy to access the buttons because at waist height. The washer & dryer cycles can be synced to match clothing/load type. Visually looks sleek. But expensive+bulky and need installer that knows how to install the tower unit properly.

If one send to repair still can use another one lol.

My usage of combo for 15yrs experiences, the breakdown cannot use each other is non-existent.

If the dryer side breaks down (heater spoil example) the WM is still can run.

If the Washing side is broken down, just bring it to Self laundry. You not going to handwash for sure.

For big item like WM, the service guy is coming to your house to repair. Not sending out.

Yea except the rare case they need to bring back the tower lol.
If only LG come out with either all white or all black washtower then perfect.

Bought one Electrolux 8kg heat pump dryer with 2 years warrantee. Dry perfectly only on first year. Going to second year all cloths damp after complete cycle. Called Electrolux tech to repair, 1st he poured water to the condenser coil. Then cloth still damp, called again, he replaced the PCB board, sensor and dunno what, anyway still damp. So needed to do 2 or 3 cycles to get dry cloths. The final straw came after 4 years, the drum belt snapped. I threw away the dryer. My quip is don't buy anything Electrolux. Now I'm trying the LG heat pump double inverter, see how long it can last

Pros
1.No exhaust tubes
2.Uses inverter condenser, safe electricity tremendously
3.Water can be expelled easily

Cons
1.A lot of dust built up in the machine itself, you need to open and blow the dust away after few years
2.Condenser can get clogged up with dust and not even the company technician knows how to clean it (they just replaced the pcb, the sensor, and other stuffs but never fixed the problem)
3.Took longer time to dry cloth than vented dryer.

Does the Dryer, every time after each session, needed to clean the tub and the edge of the entrance? What is the maintenance like?

Need to clean the lint filter after each use for maximum drying efficiency AND SAFETY. Can catch fire if left too long.

Sometimes can find loose buttons or missing loose paper inside drum, if left alone will damage clothing / damage drum

Basic functions one (but need open air/ducting ventilation) very cheap.

7kg vented can buy from good Chinese brands like Midea at RM700+ on online platform like Shopee/Lazada

Japanese brand like Toshiba TD-H80SEM 7kg Vented Dryer can also find at less than RM1k

If you want energy efficient Heat Pump kind then minimum RM2k+

Personally for me not very difficult to maintain, just the lint filter after each use, check inside drum no random bits, then follow machine manual do a "drum refresh" every month or after certain no. of cycles so inside don't get musty.

Lint flter don't even need to wash, just a good handheld vacuum or a vacuum with the "small crevice" attachment can suck up all the lint.

if i buy 2 in 1, then i will only need to clean this if i intend to use the dryer right?
