Wow, seems like I would invest in a Jap style washer dryer hypothetically speaking. The Eurostyle W/D combos make it hard to maintain and in our climate, what are the chances of one failing especially hearing those Electrolux W/D combos in this forum? The clogging of the air way and sensor seems to be the main culprit. Where else? There's three areas at least I can think of that needs cleaning. Could be more. The air cowl on the top as disassembled,  the air way (need to detach the bottom in order to hose down then blow dry) and the bottom part which should be very nasty to reach much less clean. Seems like the Jap has thought it through on making it maintenance friendly.
*
In my actual situation and experience of 8yrs this combo type, I didn't done any maintenance so far.

So far there is no drying time drop.

No breakdown or any issue at all.

The only cleaning I do is the detergent dispenser, door rubber seal and the drainer filter.

Monthly is the tube cleaning. Which pour the Daiso WM soda in and press the tube clean mode.

Since it already 8yrs old, I guess it is time to dismantle and clean it. Not to stress it that far and wait till it breakdown.

Since youtube have the video (thanks to the youtube guy), that not difficult for me to dismantle it.

Hmmm, there's a valid reason why your machine is still surviving besides the maintenance..The size of the airway vs a standard (WHD598x850x600) washer dryer. Your WD combo is bigger, taller and wider hence its airway could be larger too.
*
Probably I didn't do much drying with the WM. Dryer is my 2nd choice while sun is 1st choice. I only use dryer when there is no sun, raining season, dry not through with the sun and busy weekend.

Beside that, we don't have much wool fabric type cloth or cool season cloth. Which have a lot of lint. Contribute to the clogging fast.

I don't have much experience when buying the combo that time. It is new here and guess not much people know about it. I only research it and get it base on the

1) popularity of the brand from the west country user. (they know best)
2) The bigger drum to reduce the machine stress on the mechanism. And able to wash the comforter. Also reduce the washing cycle per yrs. That contribute to the longer lifetime of the WM.
3) The dryer type that can save energy.

If you have the space and your house layout allows it, build a concrete platform and put both front loader & dryer side by side. Never need tp bend down ever again.

But be mindful of the ventilation, as Halcyon pointed out. Don't cram them in some stuffy corner. You also need to ensure the wiring in the wall can take the electrical load of both machines.
*
What so difficult to bend down ? It is not like take effort to bend and load into the WM.

Even you use top loader, you still have to bend down and take the cloth from the basket and load into the WM ontop.

Unless for old people ?

Is it everyday do the laundry ?

simple solution would be get a stool from ikea and sit down when loading unloading.

to stack the front loader high enough so you don't need to bend, you need to put in on a table or something.
*
QUOTE(Harddisk @ Jan 2 2018, 03:44 PM)
Alternatively, I use a small stool. Seated while stuffing clothes in.
*
How long you load the cloth into the WM?

It took me 30sec only.

QUOTE(advocado @ Jan 2 2018, 04:36 PM)
how long it take to sit down & get up?

30seconds if you just dump everything in. if you put them in washer bags and separate them will take longer time.

i'm assuming your dirty clothes basket is on the floor so if you put them in bags you still have to kneel down or sit down. you can put the dirty basket on some table and do everything on table but i would assume it's the same table you will use to sort out your cleaned clothes.  whistling.gif

a stool can be used on multiple occasions, not just for loading clothes. if your washer is in toilet, the same stool can be used to sit when you wash your shoe or clothes manually.

if in kitchen, you can sit down when washing vege or making chilli padi. unless you do that on the table.
*
Even you stuff into washer bag, just pickup from the basket and stuff inside the bag, zip it and throw into the WM. My hand is long enough to throw into the WM with stand up. Don't need to bend at all. The only bending action is pick the cloth from the basket.

I have experience top loader and current front loader. I don't see it as problem or difficult or any issue at all.

I think the bending problem is mostly for the tall guy.

i don't know how tall your dirty clothes basket is or whether you put it on the table but to pick up clothes and stuff in bag you prolly need to bend down. if you stuff them all in 1 bag sure you just need to do it once but if you separate clothes, delicate, socks etc it'd take few ups & downs that i rather sit on floor or a stool.
*
Dirty clothes basket is 600mm on the floor. My hand have to dig till the floor level. Pick the cloth and throw inside the WM is only 30sec. Took me 3 bend to pick the cloth if alot.

If require separate wash bag, take out the cloth, put aside ontop the WM. Put inside the bag, zip it and throw inside the WM. You don't require to bend.

If you take a stool and sit down slowly separate, it just slow down the job. Than I understand you will have to take a long time to finish the load.

Been using this LG F1450DPRE Washer Dryer for more than 6 months but less than a year.

So far so good, and it does what it supposed to do.

[attachmentid=9617089]

Since this is not a cheap machine, I will have to make sure this machine is well taken care of, for its longevity.

I installed a water pre-filter on my washer dryer water inlet, so that the filter can reduce any sedimens presents in the water.

[attachmentid=9617093]

For the drain, I installed this blue little plastic thing that I bought from Taobao, to prevent any smells and insects coming from the drain and enter my washer dryer.

[attachmentid=9617134]  [attachmentid=9617136]

Recently I have a chance to capture the power consumption for my washer dryer with my power meter purchased from Taobao.

Here are my observation:
Power switched on at plug, but without turning on the washer dryer (Standby Power): 0.0W to 0.4W
Washer dryer switched on, idle: 7.8W to 8.0W
Filling up water: 13.8W
Spinning @ 1400 RPM with drain pump operating: 380W to 400W

Power factor when idling: 0.26
Power factor while washing: 0.64

A complete "Quick 30" cycle with spinning cycle adjusted to 1400RPM, that lasted 35 minutes, uses 66W in total.

[attachmentid=9617162]
Tub Cleaning cycle that lasted around 75 minutes, uses 864W in total.
Tub cleaning cycle uses more power due to water heating, that draws around 2.2kW/h of power.

[attachmentid=9617176]

Till next time.
*
Thanks. You save me sometime from checking the WM consumption. biggrin.gif

Using similar WM. Didn't use watt meter to check as the WM user higher power (3kw) and the wall plug between WM gap too small.

Want to know what is the full load, cotton mode washing consumption. That standard washing.

Gas dryer has risk of fire. It's better that you clean out the lint every time after use.
*
Gas dryer as safe as electrical dryer.

Even electrical dryer that block by lint will catch fire if not clean it up.

Hi everyone, I bought electrolux dryer EDV6051 in OCtober 2016 and a week ago it suddenly wont turn on. I called electrolux service and they said since i bought the unit overseas (Thailand) they dont cover the warranty so I have to pay rm100 for service charge + whatever spareparts required.

Should i stick to electrolux service or find cheaper option (since no longer under warranty)?

appreciate response. thanks

I've been using a Beko washer and dryer for about 4 years and recently the washer gives out knocking sounds and the drum is shaky.  Sent a video to Customer Service and they said they can come check for RM100 fee.

What's the industry rate for out-of-warranty checks for washers and dryers?
*
There is no industry rate. Each brand can impose their own rate.

There are quite a number of brands selling heat pump dryers, Panasonic, Electrolux, Beko and Bosch, just to name a few.

Personally, my Electrolux 9kg heat pump has been giving me lots of problem, shortly after warranty period ended. Unless you could get 5 yrs or more on warranty, I'd say, avoid Electrolux at all cost.

But then again, 8kg wise, I've only seen Electrolux's.

Good luck in your hunt. Otherwise, heat pump is the way to go, despite higher cost. It's greener compared to other.
*
if it doesn't "greener" your wallet, it is an expensive pay to the shop (greener their wallet) and do little to the environment.

Always calculate the price you pay compare to per usage/energy to save.

Energy consumption should be about half of condenser type, which is a good improvement, in term of efficiency.

I m using condenser type. It is so minimum power consumption.

Vented running at 2400W
Condenser running about 2800W
While heat pump running at 900W

Read and understand the technology behind this 3type.

That is the heater watt. Not how it work to save.
