QUOTE(namweng @ May 17 2012, 12:09 PM) I am not saying that ppl cannot afford the 30k jump not comparing with other C segment car. If so, Elantra is way out compared with forte and preeve. What I am trying to say is the pricing strategy by SD. We are talking about both cars from hyundai and marketed by SD. For that price as compared with Sonata, you can see that Elantra pricing is grossly overpriced. I like this Elantra when launched in Korea around may 2010 and wanted to buy. But the pricing put me off. Moreover, this is Not the same as the car that won North American car of the year2012 with such lower spec Just depends how you want to compare and what you are comparing with. to me the pricing is perfect. you should just get over it and buy sonata instead.. |

QUOTE(leechers @ May 17 2012, 06:20 PM) True. I have been waiting for this car. It took so long to launch here in malaysia. And when the waits over they put inokom badge on its body which seriously turns me off. Forte cheap plastic with sharp edges, squarish center console, conventional external design are your kind of taste huh. I went out shopping and saw hyundai put its elantra so i took opportunity to try and seat in it. It was a disappointment. It doesnt have wow factor as went i tried naza forte 6speed before. Upon entering forte and i just awe to see its generous and luxurious offering (compare to my vios). Elantra dont have that. It just feel empty. The only good thing is its exterior. I wont buy it. and i agree SD kills elantra. The only thing I like about Forte is the red backlighted cluster.... Anyway, when I got my car it already came with Hyundai emblem. How it looks like with that Inokom badge I have never got a clue. edit: mav3rick, wsmw, jusjus88, ihatemyguts... all you guys beat me to it. Boy are you guys fast. QUOTE(tony @ May 18 2012, 11:44 AM) I remembered someone mentioned about water pouring sound. was driving on Highway few days back and having down pour. heard some tick tick sound from the driver Window, near head level... it sounds like someone knocking the chassis with fingernail... plan to run some simulation with my garden hose this weekend....I heard it too this few days, especially when entering a corner or curve. It sounds like water running thru longkang. Not sure where the sound come from, either near sunroof or rear left hand seat. Only happened when cold start in the morning though. Anyone else experienced or knew what's the sound ? |

just made a trip to SC..
found out that the spark plug our car uses cost RM200+.. this caused the 40k service time be more expensive than the previous gen despite no transmission fluid change... service rep told me is the kind plug with pointed tip... compared with other normal plug is RM50, but interval is 20k. this still means our plug is twice as expensive as others. I didn't managed to get him to tell me the plug model. any one knows? it should be the same as the current sonata yf.. I don't really care just want to share this out as it might put off some ppl. QUOTE(fabho @ May 20 2012, 12:25 AM) wow so fast change spark plug? how many k service are u doing? change to ngk iridium spark plug then. i use it before and can last 60k No la. I was just questioning about the service cost, next week only will be servicing 1k. Apparently my service center doesnt allow to bring own parts for service. So no choice but to stick with their parts now, including using 10w40 oil...... |

QUOTE(fabho @ May 20 2012, 12:47 AM) then dont go to 3s SC go to those smaller ones.they will let u use yr own stuffs.spark plug can do outside. in fact i dont know why nobody talks abt changing spark plug, adding grounding and using better air filter like k&n. all these will boost yr car performance thus improve yr fc I wish I could. In JB not many and near to my place. |
