Hi,

Could anyone suggest a good dentist to me in P.J., K.L (but not central KL-mass traffic), Puchong, Bukit Jalil...etc?

I have once visited one doctor for teeth scaling in OUG (or Old Klang Road), K.L. The price is good, but I found she is quite 'rough'. She removed my thiny flesh which located between my lip and gum in the process and I was in pain.

Since then, I never go there anymore. I went another dental centre which is also in OUG. The doctors are professinoal, nice and polite,& I feel no pain. However, the price seems to be doubled. I got a night guard at RM450. which I thought you can get it at about RM200+.

The situation seems to be "no pain, no gain (money saving)" from my experience.

Anyone can suggest a good dental centre to me? Please provide me the name of dentist, location, contact number (if possible).

I want afforadle dental fee + polite type doctor (not the rough type). =)

Thanks for your help.

I have some stubborn stains on my teeth.. no idea how to remove them, scalling doesn't works. But dentist claims my teeth are healthy.. any advice on that?

coffee, tea or even orange can colour your teeth if you didn't brush properly. If scalling doesn't work for you then you may consider polishing your teeth. However, since your dentist said your teeth are in good condition then just ignore it.

Sometimes, 'fixing' it causes more damage than good.

It might be intrinsic stains where u can't remove it by scaling.. U can try veneer or internal bleaching.pls consult to ur nearest dentist : )

Honestly, is difficult to ve find a reliable dentists in these days at Malaysia again. I do ve known few of them, but unfortunately they all ve moved to overseas. You do need to ve take precautions whn got recommended thru the internet. Mostly, are fake. Or in other words, they are just advertising themselves. My advice is, the best choices is to ask our frens abt it - not thru the web. Take care n God bless u.

Looking at your topic name recalls me of the 'WORST' dental - OUG Dental Surgery. Called them few times to make an appointment, promised to call back but didn't. At last, we have an agreed date at this time, went to the dental but it's closed! (wtf u promise me?!) Besides, their poor attititude pushed them to a higher level of customer unsatisfaction too, guys don't risk yourself by going such a dental with no integrity at all (I don't pay money to put myself in danger), bear in mind if you are going to this dental.

I would suggest Dr. Ng Wan Fook at Kelana Jaya opposite LR station.
He has a military background dentist.
I did my wisdom teeth extraction before with him, and he is the best dentist I meet so far.

you mean for the wisdom tooth extraction?
for my case it is around rm1200 +/- in total if i am not mistaken. from the picture you can see, i have 3 wisdom tooth surgery extraction, and one normal extraction. on top of that i have another 2 normal tooth to extract for bracing alignment purpose.
For windom tooth with extraction it is RM350 +/- per surgery extraction? kindly refer to the spoiler below and give them a call so that can quote you a price? I made it on Febuary2013, that time blur blur a bit not so remember already the price.

I was google around and found this https://www.facebook.com/SmileAvenueDentalSurgery.
I just went to this Dr. Aric from Smile Avenue Dental Surgery, Solaris Dutamas for my wisdom tooth removal. It was fast and almost painless.
I was surprised that the price is not expensive in that area eventhough some celebrities like namewee went there....

Hi,

i went to the stated clinic yesterday..yes the price was cheap, but the workmanship was awful i would say.

i had gap between my front teeth that came out, the dentist fixed it but the workmanship pretty awful. also not very careful..instead of grinding my tooth, he actually grind the skin. sucked!

Government oral surgeons are good and cheap. Go to the government dental clinic and ask the dentist to refer you to the nearest government specialist hospital.

You can also go to any colleges/universities teaching dentistry, the jobs will be done by professors. The price is in between private and government.

Anyone can advise the clinic which can provide the treatment of the tooth with pulpitus (deep caries)? Wherever I call, they say: the nerve removal + root canal filling + crown = 2000 rm at least. how it is so expensive?

Normal restoration will need around Rm 80 in private clinic in Kl, government is Rm2 + registration Rm1

If for your case front tooth fracture, it will be slightly expensive bcoz take more time to do it.. So around Rm100

Anyone can advise the clinic which can provide the treatment of the tooth with pulpitus (deep caries)? Wherever I call, they say: the nerve removal + root canal filling + crown = 2000 rm at least. how it is so expensive?
*
Is it a molar tooth( back tooth)? Its molar , the root canal cost around Rm600-800 in kl area, then the crown range from 600-2k depending on type of crown used

Hihi, normally chipped tooth can be repaired by normal filling or crown, if front tooth and chipped half normally crown would be a better choice, however u could try out with normal filling first, if it fractures a few time then maybe u can go for crown as crown will be more expensive

Crowing will cost u around 650 to 1.5k depending on type of material u use, the 650 might show a bit or dark shadow due to the metal inside however its not obvious

Depending on how ur tiger teeth is, if normal extraction can pull it out then it will be around 80-120 only, if need surgery may go up to 600-800 depending is it embedded inside the bone

*
Night guard is about RM400. If you want cheaper ones, then you should go to the RM200+ dentist that you said.

Today's dental treatment should be quite painless. From what you described, it may sounds like the person you saw is not properly trained. You may want to check if she is qualifed and not a fake.

You may want to visit Dr. V. Sara at BrightSmile Dental in PJ. Her fees are neither cheap nor expensive. Address as follows:

BrightSmile Dental
47A, Jalan SS3/29, PJ
Phone: 03 7873 6666

Klinik Pergigian Lou ----- not recommended
10 Boulevard, B-1-17,
Block Bougainvillea, Lebuhraya Sprint, PJU 6A,
47400 Petaling Jaya,Selangor.

Much to my disappointment, I find the Dr very irresponsible.
I have requested for a morning appointment, however, the nurse said that Dr is not coming in the morning hence I have to come at 3pm noon. I took leave for this appointment.
On the day of appointment, I received a call to push forward the appointment to 2pm in which I accepted. Half an hour later, I got another call that Dr. has went back and my appointment is cancelled.

As I have purposely taken leave for this appointment, I felt that it's truly irresponsible of Dr. Lou to cancel his client's appointment at such a last minute. After conveying my dissatisfaction to the nurse, she said the Dr has last minute meeting. The reasons of cancellation just kept varying.

Truly disappointed with the service and credibility of this Klinik Pergigian Lou. mad.gif

Hi i am representing LOU dental surgery. We have checked back our records regarding the cancellation. One of our nurses took an emergency leave hence alot of appointments had to be rearranged. However, towards late morning, our second nurse had not arrived at the clinic and we discovered she had gotten into a car accident. Hence we had to cancel all appointments and close the clinic for the day. We didnt disclose any information to our patients as we wanted to confirm with the nurse first. Unfortunately we cannot control these unforseen circumstances. We apologize for your inconvenience.

Just extracted wisdom tooth @ UM.

quite impressed. Take longer time but okay.

Student tried to extract but inject the anesthetic in wrong area so try to pull few times pain and had to stop.

Then lecturer came and inject then pull. better but still pain @ point of detachment

All the equipment they use can see fresh open from sealed package.

they have proper procedure so felt the operation was safe.

post extractions no infection no pain didn't eat panadol also.

Its Free. Feel kinda of odd sitting there and lecturer giving lecture/scolding to student and i am sitting in the middle lol

Hello!
We are now based at bandar saujana putra, jenjarom and is easily accessible via elite or skve!
Anyone interested to have their wisdom tooth removed?

Save cost wise, and we do according to procedures, supervised and guided by oral surgeons.
No hidden charges, but being students u will have to bear a little longer treatment time.

Cheers!

Also , say if i went to any dentist can ask price for removal first? If price not ngam can walk away? tongue.gif Or need them to access my wisdom tooth first then only wait for them to quote? I don't want to end up forking high bill for this tooth removal.

If you are from Klang, go to the GH there. My friend removed 4 wisdom teeth in one shot (no choice cos lack of time to do it one by one and another reason is due to less exposure to anesthesia medicine). Results were very good, no post op problems and best of all it was so cheap. Just a few ringgit for some painkiller. But that was done 4 years back so maybe now slightly higher. Sorry, can't recall the doctors name. Just know one was a Chinese lady dentist and another an Indian male dentist. This Klang GH was recommended by a private dentist

I did my wisdom tooth removal in Klang GH. The doctor is very experience. Only paid like RM50 for the whole process including registration and everything. Mine was done by a Malay male doctor, can't remember his name. But it was introduce by another family friend, so I didn't have to wait long for the procedure.

However, if you wish to go for private doctor, the best is Dr Ngor at Emmanuel Klang Dental Specialist Centre.

Definitely that price range. Wisdom tooth extraction isn't cheap.
If you can wait, then just go for GH. Dr Ngor charges are reasonable for private prices but his clinic is always full of patients waiting to see him. Most of the time we need to make appointment at least 2 weeks in advance. If general scaling and check ups then it's okay as there are other dentists at his clinic too. All the dentists there are really good and take their time to explain to you clearly.

nowadays a lot private clinic has more and more young and less experience dentist... especially MDC announce the dentist national service reduced from 2 years to 1 year... gov. KK has better quality nowadays... went to jinjang KK 2 weeks ago... rm3 for scaling and less than 2 hours (from get number->register->scaling) on weekday morning... still can read newspaper and walk around the KK...

Instead of braces, like to try out the upper removable appliance to push straight the 2 front teeth.

AA
Like to have feedback from those in the dentistry field and also who have done it or know someone who has done it. The good and the bad.

BB
Is this done by normal dentist or must be by a orthodondist? Worry about the recent news report about poor quality dental work.

CC
Average cost?

Thanks.

Actually the cost of wisdom tooth extraction is depending whether the position of the tooth able to extract out easily or required any surgery process, which is why some is can very cheap and some above 1k.

I went to did the wisdom tooth extraction at

Ng Oral Clinic & Dental Specialist.
33, Jalan SS 20/11, Damansara Kim, 47301 Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Previously his clinic located at kelana jaya and then moved to this location. He was recommended by my dentist, she said my wisdom teeth horizontal position, which cannot extract without 3D x ray. So went to see this Dr Ng clinic because he has the 3D x ray machine.

I would say the price is not cheap, at least he did a fantastic job (no pain during the extraction process) and extracted my wisdom tooth in 15-20minutes (like pro skill).

From google, he is also one of the dental at Sunway Medical Centre. Be prepare he is very talkative person...Just want to recommend to others if you looking for experience dentist.

Honest review on Smile Avenue Dental Surgery @ Publika

1)Called in for an appointment and scheduled on the same day.

2) Arrived later on and the nurse seems to be blur on my presence.

3) Checked his wall of photos at the clinic doctor's picture with celebrity kind of customers.

4)Waited for about 5 minutes and the nurse ushered me to the consultation room. Doctor walked in to the room with rough face and unwillingly greeting and right leg crossed while talking to me.

5)Next up, nurse brought me to the x-ray room and took a x-ray

6) doctor reviewed the x-ray and immediately commented

Doctor: owh this is bad case, you need to remove a pair of your wisdom tooth and do you want to do it today?

Me: Shocked! and replied. Doctor i'm just utilizing my lunch hour to meet you for the appointment

Doctor: I see. Do plan it out. It will cost you RM 2000 + the numbing agent RM 500 rclxub.gif

7) i just told him that i would want to do the filling first and and somehow the doctor commented saying it's not feasible and will all those dentist's terminology.

8) Doctor brought me to treatment room and then start drilling my tooth and filled up 4 holes in my tooth. (note: i only asked to fix the problem, didn't ask to do anything in additional)

9) After the filling up process, doctor asked me

Doctor: are you tired

Me: no

Doctor: do you want to continue scaling and whitening?

Me: Maybe can we schedule it to some other day

Doctor: So when you want to do it?

Me: Perhaps, i'll update you on this

Doctor: So when you plan to remove your wisdom tooth.

Me: Doctor, as i said, might update you with this ya..

Doctor: okay (sounds disappointed)

Bill for filling up

1 big fill + 3 small fill + xray = RM 750 + 3% card charges = RM 772.50

So you be the judge if it's expensive or cheap.

Not sure he was having a bad day or so, also saw him having running nose. Maybe he is unwell or something? However, one thing i felt for sure that he is trying to rip me off. Well i'm not a celebrity for you to do so doc tongue.gif Wasn't pleasantly talking, and not friendly at all. I am not writing to give the business a bad reputation or so just that i went based on good review on https://www.mydoc.asia/clinic/smile-avenue-dental-surgery and it turned out not so plesant. Maybe most of them who went to this clinic would have experienced good time and services.

Looking for good dentist for bleaching root canal tooth. Went to a dentist last year for tooth ache. She said that I needed root canal and that's the only option I can't help but feel I should have maybe got a second opinion as since then I've read of people going to other dentist and not having done root canal. I didn't know what root canal involved at the time only heard the term. She explain but I don't recall her telling me the post surgery maintenance prior to the surgery. The procedure supposed to last 2 weeks top took more than 1 1/2 months if I recall correctly. Given that I was in pain, I felt like I was out of options and didn't know about post maintenance so I went for it.

Doctor was very nice and her pain management was excellent. They had to inject my gums like 4 times because I could still feel pain, until even my nose was numb. I liked the doctor but in terms of work done, I'm not too happy. She even said I needed to remove my wisdom tooth due to decay and I should do it soon. I took a break from the trauma of the root canal but opted not to go back. 1 1/2 years later still no pain on my wisdom tooth. This was the dental clinic at Taman Connaught petrol station near UCSI. They've moved to Ampang now. Went there due to recommendation from friend.

The tooth has darkened now and given it's the front tooth, I'd like to have it whiten but there's a few methods and it depends on a few factors, easily can be cheated since the price varies from like RM200 - RM1500+ depending on treatment. Anyone has any recommendation?

Looking for normal oral examination & consultation and also scaling & polishing. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I noted a very good and friendly Dentist at Ara Damansara as below and largely recommended for his great skills and patience. No pain and very easy going and comfortable at best during the whole process. Below are the details:

I going to do extraction for my molar on next week, the place is Poon Dental Surgery in Sri Petaling (Next to Public Bank 1st Floor). My wisdom tooth removed by Dr. Poon. He is a very gentle and patient to consult and listening to your problem. And I plan to do implant as well after remove my molar tooth. Est cost is about rm6k, but Dr. Poon said that can pay in few times. I will update here again after I do the extraction.

Hi. I am a dental student from mahsa university, bandar saujana putra. Our school has dental clinic, where dental treatments are done by dental students, under supervision of dental specialist. It's only rm10 per visit, most treatments are free of charge (including scaling and polishing, and of course consultation). If you are interested, can whatsapp me for more info or to book an appointment. 0126827473 😊

Everybody is different, so inevitably all doctors and dentists are different when it comes to quality of work. My experience is only with one particular dental clinic in Bukit Tinggi, Klang. It's not in PJ or KL but thought I"d share my experience.

The particular clinic is Tiew Dental Clinic which has many branches in Klang Valley. The particular branch that I often visit is the one in Bukit Tinggi, Klang. Most of the work done is teeth scaling and abrasion cavity restoration. There are many dentists which rotate their shifts with the clinic as different dentists will be available on different days. Most dentists are young university graduates.

The 3 dentists that worked on my teeth are as follows:-

1. Dr Joann Yong Sook Mei
2. Dr Ngew Chi Shan
3. Dr Soh Kher Yen

Of all the 3, the one that left the worst experience is Dr Joann. Long story short, I left the clinic with a feeling that my mouth was partially cleaned. The whole process of scaling was very short, all done in perhaps less than 5 minutes.

Dr Ngew was a bit better. More careful with her work and more thorough cleaning.

Lastly, Dr Soh would be by recommendation as I left the clinic with a very good feeling. Cleaning of the teeth was meticulously done and she took a long time to clean the teeth. For the first time there is no blood when I spit the water out from my mouth during rinsing. Also, she even used dental floss to scale my teeth (very rare that dentists would floss your mouth when scaling the teeth). Polishing was also done carefully and I felt like she took 30 minutes to carry out all the work.

Dr Soh also had good verbal communication as well, constantly telling me to relax, close my mouth a little or open it a little wider etc. throughout the cleaning process. Overall it was a satisfactory job done with a feeling of thoroughly cleansed mouth when it's finished. Was also recommended an option to do an implant costing RM6k to RM8k but it's not exactly necessary.

Bottomline, everyone is born different. There are good doctors and not-so-good doctors(I have few cases but will not elaborate here since it's not relevant to this thread). Similarly there are good dentists and not-so-good dentists. Once you have found out a good dentists, you will tend to go to him/her for your next visit.

Hope that my thread would be of a little help to those who are looking for "good" dentists in Klang area. For those who frequent dentists in other areas in Klang Valley, perhaps share yours as well, good and not-so-good dentists.

I have been going to Datuk David at Megan building, near bank of China jalan Ampang.
He only works part time but there two other orthodontists at the clinic if you are in a hurry. They are very up to date with new types of braces available. They are all very experienced.

I had a root canal done on my front tooth during my university days and it had turned dark. Not many places can restore it so my dentist recommended this endodontist clinic in building Tan Kim San ( the whole clinic). I did mine a few years ago for more than 2k. I had to make a few visits. That dentist has left but they have 4 or 5 others I think.
I would go back there if I need complicated work. It is at Jln Ipoh, you can google their address.

Dr Pang from Pang Dentist at Jalan Sri Permaisuri. Walking distance from Lrt Salak Selatan, 7eleven and Jpj Bdr Sri Permaisuri.

Root canal - RM 800 (2-3 trips).
6 months later, you will need to come back to his office to do crown (800-1300 depend on crown material & 2 trips). X-ray included.

I like his way of root canal. He monitored my case for at least 6 months, before he suggests me to crown my tooth. Some places just a gap of 2 weeks.
The purpose is to make sure that tooth is properly managed and infection subsidied.

I learned a lot from my dentist. If distance or other issues, probably you try to ask other dentist if he/she is following this procedure. A gap to see if that tooth is properly managed. Just my 2cent.

Some dentist will just do root canal and 2 weeks later, they will fix in the crown. All settle in 1 month. Fast treatment and closed case. My colleague had spent total 2k (1k root canal, 1k crown) but at the end, his dentist decided to extract because tooth condition is bad. He wasted his 2k and pains along it. Twice he went to that same dentist, and resulted the same outcome.

Happy exploring.

Just go to Tan Endodontic Specialist in Jalan Ipoh to ensure a better success rate of treatment outcome.
Get a crown placed after root canal treatment completed to avoid tooth fracture upon mastication.

Well you can't just generalise based on your colleague case alone. Most likely the problem is due to inadequately-done root canal treatment rather than placing the crown right after root canal.

Delaying placement of crown for too long especially over PREMOLARS & MOLARS will predispose your tooth from being cracked/fractured even upon routine chewing as the nature of root canal treated tooth are significantly fragile + there's no feedback mechanism as the nerve was entirely removed. Your tooth without nerve are not able to send feedback to brain whether the food is hard or otherwise.

Furthermore those with parafunctional habits like clencher or bruxer will exert strong biting force unconsciously / during sleep, thus rendering root-treated tooth prone to fracture.

As long you find it worth, it will be alright.

Thanks for the explanations. I believe every case is unique and proper communications between patient and dentist is something that outsider will not know or aware.

As such, I am just bringing up a case, and not generalizing anything.

At the end, patient should be happy rather experiencing trauma because of the treatment.

coffee, tea or even orange can colour your teeth if you didn't brush properly. If scalling doesn't work for you then you may consider polishing your teeth. However, since your dentist said your teeth are in good condition then just ignore it.

Sometimes, 'fixing' it causes more damage than good.

I HAVE TRIED CALLING IMU DENTISTRY DEPARTMENT -- honestly, the prices no differences with outside private clinics, very expensive. I'm not sure whether whosoever recommended Dr Shekar Bhatia made appointment with him personally in order to get better prices but seriously the prices all not cheap.

My recommendation is ..try to ask OOI DENTAL CLINIC, KLANG, its so much cheaper

Treatment costs varies for diff types of tooth with diff difficulties. Few thousands. Not cheap thou.
Best to seek consultation first, then ask for price quotation prior to committing treatment.

The stains can be removed by scaling or bleaching or use a better toothpaste, your local dentist would be the best to suggest the Invisalign Cost for the treatment.

Depending on what dental treatment you are intending to do. My personal dentist is Dr Ong Lay Kei who is now working in BioSmile Dental Clinic in SS 2, Petaling Jaya. I used to have my braces done by her and now I am continuing my follow-up for routine check up and scaling. She is very professional, gentle and friendly. I bring along my family members too, all under her. Price is certainly affordable. So if you are looking for dentist in PJ area, can try looking for her.

No. 18A, Tingkat Satu, Jalan SS 2/24, SS 2, Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

I usually go to V Care in Damansara Uptown. Very convenient location, spacious environment, and they seriously have the best dentists! Personally I've tried 3 of the doctors, they're all very gentle and professional. Before this I was very scared of going to the dentist whistling.gif They offer a wide range of dental treatment, price is reasonable for Damansara area. My family & friends all love it there, highly recommended!

Professor Dr. Ong Siew Tin - she's one of the pioneers for dental implants in Malaysia. She's very experienced and most people refer implant cases to her!! She works in V Care Dental Centre

Hello,

Your question is too vague, what was the initial problem that led to a dental visit?

But most commonly, if the teeth/tooth looks perfectly normal from the oral cavity therefore xray is taken to examine the root & surrounding structures around it.

My friend went to dentist at Ampang recently because teeth hurt when drinking cool water, the dentist recommended to do crowning without removing root because the dentist said remove root only if it is pain, after treated cost 1000, but still having same problem, she checked and do filling at other teeths cost 350. Again problem still occur. Now she blame it is due to teeth grinding problem, and she suggested to use Sensodyne. My friend very angry as she has to upfront recommended Sensodyne instead of crowning.

What is your comments on this and any recommendation for good dentist to solve this problem.

Thanks in advance.

Severe sensitivity means the nerve in the tooth is easily triggered by hot or cold stimuli due to thinning of the outer layer of the tooth. There may be many causes of this but i would recommend taking an xray, do a root canal and solve the problem for once and all. Sensodyne helps, but its only a temporary solution. The moment your friend sips a cup of coffee, the problem arises again

*
I went to Pang Dentist as per recommendation from this forum. That was about 6 months ago. The dentist is not a man. It is a young woman. I did call up to make an appointment and it was quite easy to get an appointment quickly. She is quite popular and the charges are reasonable. It is a good idea to make an appointment before hand.
Generally I prefer to get a dentist that is older and more experienced. Also the person will be more likely to spend time to talk about the procedure.
I didn't have a problem finding the clinic as I took the LRT. There is another dental clinic along the same road.

Four years ago,[COLOR=green] I did my root canal treatment at Ng dental clinic in Bangunan Lim Foo Yong but she has moved to the Weld recently. I was quite alarmed she did not xray my tooth prior to the root canal treatment. I had pain for some time after the treatment. She charged me an astronomical RM 2,800[COLOR=green] for the full root canal treatment. IMU charges were much cheaper. Now still not quite happy with the outcome of the tooth.

I usually have my dental work done at IMU Bukit Jalil but they seem to take Xray every time I visit the clinic. Sometimes more than twice a year. My teeth is not in a good shape, given my age[COLOR=red]. It was a Syrian doctor who xrayed my 'root canal treated' tooth and he said he was not 100% satisfied that it was done properly. After a filling done by that Syrian doctor, I now request for a local doctor or one from India. The tooth that he filled, hurt for 8 days after the procedure. This has never happened before.

I like the doctors at Lim Dental in New Town Centre, Petaling Jaya because they don't use injection before doing filling. But so painful.
Still looking for a doctor to do a filling for my tooth that was filled 2 years back. That was done in Melaka. I think my tooth is so weak, the 'injection numbed' filling must have caused a crack in the tooth.

My last experience with IMU student filling was not good. It was a young lady dental student. Previous visits were very good. Now I only go there to receive treatment by doctors only. Only scaling, I let the students do but not exactly well done.

I was about to ask if he was from Bkt Bintang - this doctor was my regular dentist till he moved to D'sara. This dentist is good, gentle and affordable (in Bkt Bintang), went once to his new clinic at D'sara and didn't return anymore - too far for me.

Other dentists that I went to were either gold diggers (can't blame them, make the clinic so 'chic', complete with modern interior design, Netflix, bar stools and tables - but after do scaling - teeth sensitive for 6 months and charged me Rm450 for basic services.

Few more were reasonably priced but then were rough when doing flossing - gums bleeding profusely - then upsell me expensive toothpaste to treat my bleeding gums - I was like WTH, you floss my teeth like a mad man and then blame my gums? No go back until I recently found one reasonably priced and and not so fancy & rough dentist at Pudu.

I have been using this dentist for a couple years, seems pretty decent and average/above average cost. Doctor seems pretty normal and friendly, scaling is usually pretty decent and not painful. I usually only do scaling since my teeth are generally ok.
