*
Come to think of it.. I think it was much longer back =.=. Maybe 15+ years

QUOTE(Human10 @ Jun 26 2012, 01:36 AM)
New one 100% extinct in Malaysia.
Used one also extremely rare, and probably no much ppl know its value.

So that mean by any chance if you met one, you probably can get it at no cost. sweat.gif

If you insist on a new one. Your best bet are ebay US or UNICOMP.
*
Yeah I guess its not possible to get a new one. But maybe a used one, and i can make a project to restore it back =D

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Jun 26 2012, 08:27 AM)
Rm130+ shipped from Taobao. Lottery condition
RM200 w/o shipping from US, you get to choose
RM300+ w/o shipping for new Blue Label (possibly 82G/52G series) at ebay
Expect to pay way more for 1391401 NIB.
*
Anyone with experience in getting from Taobao before? =D

Thanks all!

ya hope can get a good deal from him..btw i prefer black becoz it really suit for gaming purpose..but bro still prefer HHKB over realforce i dun know y mybe coz of the layout itself...but nvm realforce oso worth to try in end wink.gif
*
Both has its strengths, but the normal layout of RF has an easier learning curve than the HHKB tongue.gif.
Heck even my Poker which is 'more standard' than the HHKB, already is giving me quite a learning curve. Need time to get used to the missing Del/Ins cluster and the F row.

Yes they do ship to Malaysia.
Switches are cheaper from Taiwan/China, or go ask 7bit for the switch group buy
*
Taiwan is from PCHOME?
China from Taobao?

I'm rocking the Aluminum PURE right now.

Not liking the Function key placement though.  RFCN is useless.  LFCN is awkward but better.
*
Ripster, can I throw a challenge to you?
Convert the Poker into a wireless/BT keyboard with as little damage as possible to the stock hardware.
Is it doable? laugh.gif

My poker is itching to be used as a truly pick and go keyboard sad.gif

Doable but not probable.

Pity sad.gif

QUOTE(kaiserreich @ Jul 11 2012, 08:52 AM)
POKER/PURE is harder to be converted due to the position of the Controller, which is on the PCB itself.
A lot of rewiring needed, and not sure if the case clearance is enough for this.
You could probably get a higher case clearance with the custom aluminum ones and try.

Easier to be convereted would be the HHKB, which was done before, or you can try it with the RACE.
RACE's controller is on a daughter card, so all the connections are there already. Don't have to rewire the whole matrix.
*
Yeah the controler is fixed. It would be something that I can experiment on if GH's group buy for the POKER DIY kit allows us to purchase only the board sad.gif.
The race is just too expensive and I dont need the mega bling.. Btw, if i were to use the Race's maxtrix on another controller, that would mean I would lose the FN layer correct?

QUOTE(Human10 @ Jul 11 2012, 03:05 PM)
Actually, the easiest wireless mod board IMPOV is IBM Model M.
Someone in GH did it b4.

What you need is just a old Logitech wireless kb, a Model M and some wires and you are pretty much good to go.

Those two boards are having almost the same matrix layout(except the swap of "-" and "+" on numpad). Thus you only need to fit on the Logitech controller onto Model M and the mod is done.

*
I've seen this one. He chopped it up and turned it into TKL too. Good mod, but unfortunately i want a light travel keyboard, like the poker, and i definately cant chop a model M up as well as he did.. so yeah >.<

Serious mecha KB users usually will steer clear from Razer's offerings..
Some will condone CM Storm Quick rapid though because it seems to be from the OEM of Filcos..

If you want the bling, get Ducky, if you want serious quality, get Filco smile.gif

Hi Guys travelling to US 24th August and will back 4th Sept.

I am planning to get some stuff from http://www.wasdkeyboards.com/.

Things I plan to get
1)Keycaps
2)O-Ring switch dampeners

Let me know if you guys want anything. I do not plan to buy any keyboards as this might increase the weight considerably.

I can pass you guys the items anywhere in Penang, or once a month in Puchong.

Let me know if you guys are interested in doing Custom graphics keycaps.

Btw, I am doing this for cost price.
*
I'd love some parts and keycaps if you can spare the space smile.gif
Oh and some Cherry MX switches too

Injection molding will cost you at least RM5-10k to get started.
And that isnt including the part's cost (material might be cheap, but injection supplier rental isnt cheap unless you run into the tenth of thousand's sets of keycaps.

Easiest way is still milling for low qty job, But you cant have good texture with milling. Unless you apply sandblast as secondary process.
Still, it isnt as good as a moulded piece.

But then again for keychain usage, milling is the best way tongue.gif

I can see lots of manufacturing members here tongue.gif.

It is possible to make a mold and inject many parts, but expect similar designs if you want it cheap. Else, there is no other way but to get from WASD or the likes.

Gonna get my hands on a Filco TKL finally! rclxm9.gif
I can get rid of this torturing stock membrane in my house. Reds at work and blues at home! Having the Poker with a non mounted PCB, cant wait to try the solidness of the Filco.

Want to start changing keycaps, but funds are short now >.<

If can, dont try to skimp on getting low quality mecha boards. Else you'll just want to upgrade in future tongue.gif.

Get Filco TKL tongue.gif

I've gotten my Filco Tenkeyless Blue switch today, and man, the feeling is totally different than my Poker.

I'll write a more detailed comparison soon (after bringing back my Poker from work), but right off the bat, the solidness of a metal backed keyboard is really assuring. The Filco is tons better than the Poker in terms of that. And blue switch is still nicer for typing compared to reds (at least for me).

Compared to the the Coolermaster QRF, Im glad i opted for the Filco instead. That overbranding and possibly the tearing and deteriorating of the rubber coated case kind put me off.

Now, just.need.key.caps >.<
