The so claimed safe kernel..after few months later come out public service announcement and claim that it's kernel actually has some error...so how's that for a troll?

Actually where got 100% safe kernel 1..it doesnt brick now doesn mean it wont in the future.Previously before the public service announcement all also don scare,flash this flash that also no brick.Each individual who dare to flash their phone have to know the risk they are bearing.If bricked,blame no one but urself since nobody forces u.Don wan to regret,sad,disappointed..then wait for official ICS

Just use Titanium Backup to remove /freeze any apps you do not want. However do not remove core system apps such as contact, calendar. fresh install of any official rom will not remove these default apps as it will still comes with it
Your problem is unique - you do not solve it by changing roms ; minimum do a hard factory reset - if still recur sent in to service center to check first. If you do not wish to sent in, than reflash a stock official rom to test again

As for the issue of unsafe kernel - this arise because it seems few users hard brick their phones but the cases is rare due to flashing following the right steps but using a wrong kernel/modified kernel. The kernel developer has than come out with a warning that the present crop of ICS roms based on a unofficial i92220 Chinese leak and from which LP5/LP6 kernels were than develop was deemed unsafe. He said the % of hard bricking could be low, probably few % only and the chance one will brick could probably happen or not even happen after many flashing. So put it this way, he is throwing everybody an alert that it is safer not to flash using these leaked kernels BUT is safe to flash using his Entropy kernel which is only limited to Touchwiz based ICS roms. So guys , do your own assessment of the risks
As for me,. I am daily testing the various roms updates and with different kernel combos and seriously I am looking forward to have my NOTE hard brick to proof his claim that is unsafe
So simply for those who worry about this , DO NOT flash any ICS roms unless it is Cyanogen9 ( default deemed safe kernel) or TouchWiz based ( Alba, Criskelo, Midnote,Kingdroid ) but change it to Entropy kernel

How to check modem version rather LP5 or LP6? My kernel is indicated 3.0.15-I9220ZCLP5-CL295568. Is that mean I'm using modem LP5? How can I flash it to LP6? I've tried many times update to LP6 through recovery, but still show me 3.0.15-I9220ZCLP5-CL295568.

Isnt that kernel?Baseband is modem

in JD..any application used notice,set 30 minute to refresh.set 2am-6am no refresh.

maybe if testing hardcore way (disable jd,enable wifi on,data on,etc..)will get solid result

Settings/About Phone/baseband version
Kernel is different different from modem - the kernel is independent of modem
You update your modem to LP6 by flashing LP6 modem ( download link at post#6) not by flashing LP6 kernel
Unzip the modem file - it it extracts to few folders such as metainf, modem bin, flash_image - than you flash this modem zip file from clockworkmod recovery. If after extract you see a zimage file - than you use mobile odin to flash it under modem

The very last time i connected my note with USB cable, all i need to do is debug it or something, then it can connect.

But today, really annoy me, no usb signal upon connecting, even with others pc also samething. No USB signal....

Any sifu here, got solution for this?

It is settings/developer option - tick USB debugging
When you connect you will see USB logo at taskbar - pull it down and select USB connection

Try another cable or another USB port
If still cannot, last resort factory reset : try again
If still cannot probably your USB connector is defective - sent in service center to check

It's the same as mine but I really have no idea why ur phone auto off during charging.It happens once to my fren who's using Stunner rom same as me.But then it didnt happen anymore.

I am using it since build 2 , now is build 6 already

What rom are you on now ?

Auto shutdown when phone idle could be due to :

1. Kernel incompatible
2. Modem incompatible
3. Apps incompatiblity ( especially certain crack/pirated apps often cause such issues )

You have to do own test /experiment to identify source of problem. There is no one correct answer
However based on what I ahvce read at XDA of users experiences, it is unlikely LP5 kernel issue - kernel issue was a probable cause only on LP1 kernels, not on LP5 or even LP6 kernel
Changing modems help as my personal experience in using the earlier ICS roms ( based on LP1 ) shows that using LB2 eliminate such issues - before that I was using LP1 modem
