My sister have iPhone 4 jailbroken iOS4, and bought new iPhone 5 iOS6 yesterday.

Can i make full backup at iTunes, and restore to new iPhone 5 iOS6?

Me too. But I think I found the technic to unjailbreak/restore it.

1) I use latest d/l of redsn0w. Jailbreak it again (even though it is already jail-broken). This is to update all the jail-broken files in your iPhone first.

2) Use redsn0w to Restore ipsw to 5.1.1 (not latest) -> if step 1 above is done, no problem here. Very smooth and straight-forward.
If step 1 not done, got many errors come out and fail.

Took about 20 minutes for the phone to completely restore.

You can backup the iPhone 4 and restore it to the new iPhone 5 but only the settings (SMS/Contacts etc) will be restored. No jailbroken apps/tweaks will be restored. All your purchased apps can be synced with iTunes and all the data should be restored as well.

The iPhone can only be unlocked if the baseband is lower than a certain version number. I don't have it in my head but I think it should be in the post #2 or #3 of this thread.

Rumours said that jailbreak for iOS6 will start from 6.1. They've said to have skipped 6.0.1. The speculated release date for iOS 6.1 from Apple is around end of January or early February. So it's still months away before a jailbreak version of iOS 6 (untethered) to appear.

Heard many ppl on ios6.0.1 have some 3G internet connection problem. Hope it will not happen on ios6.1. smile.gif

To me, iOS 6.0.1 have a few irritating problems.

a) Unable to auto-lock if you press the assistive touch's home button last.
b) Touching the sssistive touch icon and it will shrink back again after using its home button.

I hope iOS 6.1 will solve these 2 annoying issues.

It's not really that problematic. Only these 2 issues are really bugging me... Damn those bugs sad.gif

of course the issue will still be there even after jailbreaking it. That is why it's better to wait for iOS 6.1 update & hope Apple resolve all these issues before hackers release a jailbreak for it brows.gif

It's been close to a year since the last fully unthetered jailbreak. Software unlock more than that (probably close to 18 months). Face it, Apple has won.
