when i was using litening rom, 2.5 & 2.6, also got this issue.

actually not sure whats the diff between sensation ics rom and litening rom.

both also sammy based, just one themed to be black and blue, the other themed to sensation.

the wifi issue happens quite frequently. maybe once or twice a day.
damn frustrating.

Dude, the ics update won't bring big improvement to your phone.
Its because the s2 in gb already very perfect,
Only low end phone will probably feel some improvement.

Ics just intro minor improvement, and bring along some bugs with it,
Most obvious is the wifi bug.

Not sure about you, but the new browser and swipe notification is not enough to compensate the wifi buy.

Your friends lausy xperia ray, still lose to your s2 with gb even it has ics update,
Even its on jelly bean, it will still be slower. So dun panic.

Your s2 is still one of the most powerful device.

I'm sure you can see people here all discussing ics rooms like hydrogenics.
Go first page learn root and flash. Try out ics yourself.

I used to complain about slow update ,finally can't stand, learn to flash and got a taste of ics,
Now feel its not that much of a big deal, and I can go to bed peacefully without obsessing over it.

Just solve a minor problem/annoyance that i've been facing since the day i got my phone.

notice how pressing the volume button will change ringer volume instead of media volume? no idea why this is the case, i always prefer to change media volume instead.

Apart from the inconvenience, the main reason why i hate ringer volume being changed by volume button is that i quite often accidentally press the volume button, and the phone will make a beep sound. i always set my ringer volume to maximum. so if i accidentally lower it, i need to set it back to max. once it reach max it will have a LOUD beep. which is frustrating and disturbing.

the solution is so easy!
just go /system/media/volume/ui and change add a .bak extension to TW_Volume_control.ogg

after reboot, if accidentally press volume button, it will still change ringer volume, but at least no more loud beep sound.

was focusing more about the difference between hydrogenics and ressurection.

not sure why so many variation among aokp.
seems quite similar only.

litening rom and sensation ics rom both also based on sammy rom.
they look similar to me as well.

why the heck make different rom if the difference is just the theme?
at least there is a difference in litening and sensation ics (theme wise)

resurection and hydronics really looks same.

hm....but this also means the real number of roms for s2 is much less than it seems.
because many roms are actually copy of each other, with really minor tweaks.

so there's really just 3 main types of rom?
1. aosp/aokp (CM9,resurection, hydrogenics, etc)
2. sammy official (litening, sensation, etc...)
3. miui (any custom miui)

if so, i think i've tried them all, at least one from each kind.

Mine working great, takes great pics.

Although the customer service not good, but at least the product is good.

It happens when u turn on wifi. It just jam.

I thought only on Sammy ics. But antoo told me aosp aokp also got this prob for s2.

Go launcher got updated yesterday.

this new update makes it nicely optimise for ics.
the folders management is fantastic and really intuitive.

if you guys on ics bored of nova/apex/trebuchet look, can give go launcher a try, install go ics theme, really looks good, very smooth as well.

how to check sony or fujitsu?
mine so far so good. the autofocusing during video is not the best implementation, but still better than no autofocus during video.

pink spot issue, i just tried and snap a blank paper in a bright room, stare really closely and long, seems got a mild, very very mild pink dots here and there. not sure if its noise or pink spot issue, but its really negligible for me.

you still have the pink spot issue? how serious is yours?

actually its just the proxy settings la.
on GB, if you set proxy, not all apps can access the proxy settings,
need to be rooted, use an app called proxydroid, and set global proxy so all app can access.

on ICS, global proxy enable by default.
one of the less mentioned ics feature.

The sgs2 seems to be on par with one x during browsing, and outperform it during 3 d games, apparently the lower resolution is a benefit. Hahaha.

Wan ics, go xda download. Free of charge:-) so many flavor sumore.
Use Odin flash official ics if worry warranty.

Its faster than goin bank withdraw money and drive to phone shop to buy HTC one x.

I not Samsung fan boy. Just s2 fan boy, s2 and note is the only thing good from Samsung.
The rest are crap.

Nexus is a good choice, but 16 gb non expandible is just sad,

Have a galaxy tab 10.1, its like rubbish, lag like hell with honeycomb 3.1.
Much slower than s2 in every aspect. I complained and rant at tab10 forum, sifus there scold me and ask me stop whining and start reading.
Did as they mention, learn to root and lash custom rom. Now my tab running ics and over clock to 1.4ghz.
Performance and general UI smoothness on par with s2.

flashing resurrection remix rom now.
its a non wipe version. sounds easy, thats why i'm giving it a try.
did not format, just wipe cache and dalvic cache only. lets see will have problem or not.

Was annoyed by the lock screen vibration.

I saw the change log for hydrogenics, got a new version 27 Apr.
It says no lock screen vibration. Was about to download, but notice the link is 18apr one.

I agree. S2 is a great phone, if got RM 2k, instead of getting a S3, recomend get an android tablet.
maybe a quad core tablet like transformer prime, or galaxy note10.1

with phone and tablet, its best of both worlds.
tablet is like phone, can install the same apps, but the best part is big screen, EXCELLENT battery life.

S3 no matter great, its still a phone, the experience is quite similar.
if got a tablet, its a brand new experience entirely.

having a phone + tablet combo is really a good experience.

phone of cos bring around everywhere. tab place is meant to be at home, use at night after work. :-)

S2 hang all the time? yours G version? the non G one doesnt hang.

your S2 usage so funny...hahaha.
tab can adjust brightness also.

about S2 hang, mine really really never hang before.
since august, i use till now, never hang before. at most is just app force close only.

never before it hang no responce until i need to remove battery.
the overheat issue, underclock it to 1GHz, become not hot already, same like G version. ;-)

anyway, my point is, S2 already good phone, upgrade to S3 improvement seems marginal. feel owning a tablet will more fun. open doors to new place to explore.

tablet is the kind of thing that you wonder why you need it?
and when you have it, you wonder how can you live without it?

about battery drain at night, i dont have this issue.
i'm on checkrom, the default check rom kernal, whatever that is.

off wifi and data when sleep, battery drop just 1 or 2 percent only.
i think if leave internet on, apps will want to sync, causing unnecessary battery usage.
