if ur internet is open, then u will miss any sms/call..
because the internet is 'using' ur line..
this doesnt happen when u r on 3G and above (HSDPA, HSUPA)

u can see the menu by dialing *#301279# and select DISPLAY HSPA version..

There are 2 versions of S2 in M'sia.. i9100 and i9100G.. i9100 is supposedly the "better" one with "better" graphics performance in Mali-400 as opposed to the i9100G which have the PowerVR SGX540 gpu..

SME set means from Samsung M'sia a.k.a. local set with full warranty from Samsung, as opposed to AP set which is export set from other countries, so Samsung might/will reject warranty for them (probably can only depend on shop warranty)..

As for second-hand sets, that one I'm not familiar, let others help you.. 

1. if ON condition, check *#1234#, see the the build date.. there's your first point to negotiate less price if the build too old
2. If 2nd unit include the box then check imei at phone screen by press *#06#, sticker at the box and inside battery panel (after you off the phone, cant check until you remove the battery) all should be the SAME!!!

in addition,  press *#0#* and enter the test menu, here u can test everything in the phone, make sure everything is working, compass moves, gyroscope, accelerometer, check the screen in all 4 colours(WRGB) to see if any dead pixels(more than 3 is not good), check front and back camera working(pink spot is normal), check touch, and check speakers all. check charger is working or not, plug it in if can and see it charges or not, check the 3.5mm jack working or not by plug in the headset that comes with the phone.

i9100G is not to say better in performance, well it is better but not to a much extent, but thats all, the big issue with the G set is that is has camera fail and hang issues, laggy youtube playback etc. most of the hangs and freezes issues that ppl say about s2 is due to the g version. as for how these can be solved, kindly contact the thread starter ts, 1wildcat1 as he's using it. oh and also i9100g has lesser roms and mods to play with while i9100g has very few to choose

Is your data on? If yes some app mayb using it in background.  And missed call can happen.

I totally understand all the difficulties in handling a G-version S2..

Everyday c ppl shouting their non-g and the power they have...haih

All the lagginess, freezing keypad, sudden overheat, camera failure..until now cannot find a definite solution...if rooting can solve the problem, i will do it but takut the warranty cannot pakai...

Any G user facing all these problems and know the way to overcome it all...
please shed some light to those that can only the weakness.....

battery saving apps usually the concept is they will off your data while your screen is off. so when your screen is off, data will off, so thats why your calls come through

Do you flash custom rom? if yes might be that problem. The best way is to factory reset it.
