You can wait for it to dry off, but still you're taking a huge risk and possibilities.

Not sure 6 days enough for it to dry off? Or any method to make it faster?

Wow. Do keep us updated. But frankly, this is a darn common problem of apple devices. My iPhone had it. My iPad 1 gen had it. All were rejected for exchanges or refund.

With so much hassle I would opt for a full refund and wait for a more reliable batch or better luck a few weeks down the line...
BTW, my Production Week is "14 (April)."

Its all depends on luck. Im sure out of thousands there will only be 1 or 2 defects. Nothing is perfect and especially electronic products. Same applies to computers, hard disk etc. So just exchange and hope for the best

Keep using your iPad. Since it gets hot, it should dry off in no time tongue.gif

Indeed not a lucky start for me with the new Ipad, though the three Ipad 2 I bought for myself and family members have uniformly perfect display. Would appreciate you wishing me better luck for a good replacement or if a refund option is possible, a good purchase in a later batch. Not a sound advice in this discussion thread to suggest jettisoning the Ipad and buying an Android tablet base purely on luck.

Since you're going to bring in to Courts, I take it that the "burn-in" exercise has no effect?

Okay, back from Courts. They said tablets are not covered in their 7-days 1-to-1 exchange, but since their staff mistakenly promised me, they will exchange it for me anyway. They only have one last unit left for black 64GB, but guess what, it has pink hue on it towards to home button. I then requested to change to a 32GB, since they have some stocks left, but the manager/supervisor ask me to bring it to the service center first, if they are not willing to do anything for me, bring it back and they will exchange for me again.

He said he's afraid that all of his stock are the same, so I might just finish their stock opening one by one. They cannot resell activated iPads. So now I'm back home with my uneven yellow tinted iPad. Will bring it to the service center tomorrow and see what they say.

Seriously, Apple, wtf? Either I'm super bad luck or Apple has zero quality control whatsoever.

I didn't really burn in. I just jack up the brightness and set it to never sleep. Used it since evening like that until at night when I go to sleep. It gets real hot indeed, but the top part is just warm, so I guess it has little effect. I figure it's too risky to just wait and hope that it goes away. What if it doesn't? The earlier to bring it back, the higher the chance of getting it replaced. The 7 days 1-to-1 exchange is still on for me, and I have to get it exchanged before Friday if the service center is not helping me, so time is crucial.

Seriously, apple products have zero quality control since the apple reseller (switch) admitted that it is normal to have some scratches at the back of the ipad.
I bought an ipad last friday and to my disappointment i saw some scratches (tiny one) at the back of the ipad. so, i approached the seller at switch after 10-15 minutes of purchased. U noe wat.....the supervisor/manager mentioned that can't exchange with a new set. then, he took out some cloth to clean the scratch for me. i was wondering over there....wow...this cloth must have some magical power to remove the scratch.
end of the day, he said dat cannot remove and it is normal to have dis kind of ecstatic defects for APPLE'S PRODUCT. the worst part is """""CANNOT EXCHANGE".
after giving a call to apple hotline because of yellow tint screen today, i was told by 3 operators that we are allowed to ask for exchange or refund for the scratches when opened the newly bought set.
the operator mentioned that i will get a new set from the service center since im having dis problem but i am still unhappy with lies by the reseller.
this is an indication that apple/resellers are taking their customers lightly.
i guess they are assuming that all of us need to get a new ipad........
why not we give samsung or other brands a try since android is no longer that bad like last time....
don't forget there is no one going to control the market in this world forever....good example is proton who also controlling the car market in msia once upon a time but now....haha.....

The hotline operator says we can get a new set from service centers? Any grace period? I think I'm going to Mid Valley service center to see what they have to say. If they aren't helping then I will go back to Courts, open another 32GB and decide which of the three should I take. Not gonna open anymore, don't wanna trouble the staff there, which is going against their company policy just to be helpful. Last resort will be Apple's hotline, I guess they can overrule the decisions by resellers and get us a good one.

If you don't see any problem with your unit, just keep it. I wish I wouldn't notice anything wrong with mine, because it's nightmare thereafter.
