QUOTE(engah @ Jun 10 2012, 09:13 PM) When I received my new car, I was told that it had RM10 petrol. I pumped another RM61 to full. So total = RM71/1.9 = ca. 37 litres. FC for my PC is 26km/l. So, theoretically, mine should be able to travel 960km for a full tank. Added on June 10, 2012, 9:18 pmMy SA gave me a set of nice thick mats. Very useful to trap dust and sand. I keep the thin original mats, which looks cheap....

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jun 11 2012, 12:50 AM) today just go wrap car cushion semi leather...hahaha...looks nice... next up, buy a roll of 3M car mat and DIY it... I heard that this may affect the performance of the side air bags. Added on June 11, 2012, 9:57 amQUOTE(timeonce @ Jun 11 2012, 08:58 AM) wow . nice engah.. seems ur SA give u a high quality mat. Even got rubber grip underneath it Actually quite heavy, compared to the original ones. May be not good for FC :-) This post has been edited by engah: Jun 11 2012, 09:57 AM

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jun 11 2012, 11:12 AM) I am tired of this "i heard, you heard, he heard, she heard, my friend's said, my mom's said" how can it affect the performance? how heavy is that? a bit heavy won't affect the FC. Your laptop bag that you carry everyday is much more heavier than this my friend. my back boot fully loaded with tool box (with all kind of spannars, screw drivers etc etc) and a box of water (to clean of the bird shit or stained)....so that is more heavier than car mat but still can run 750km+/- per RM65 FYI, info from internet "Any seat cover that are used on seats with side airbags must be altered to allow for airbag deployment." http://www.shearcomfort.com/SeatAirbag.asp"If a seat seam has been altered outside of the manufacturer’s specifications, the airbag could deploy too early, or too late, or, possibly in the wrong position, and it won’t be effective. This means that any work done on seat upholstery must be done by someone who not only understands how airbags work, but also has an in-depth knowledge of the car seat upholstery trade." http://www.rve.co.nz/airbagseams.html Added on June 11, 2012, 1:39 pmQUOTE(tkc57 @ Jun 11 2012, 12:43 PM) Yes, agreed, if want better FC, dont pump full tank, half tank RM30 will do, the more you pump the car will be be more heavy I was just kidding. I had been hearing rattling sounds around the dashboard area for about a month. Today, after I tapped-tapped here and knocked-knocked there, the sounds seemed to disappear. I did this infront of my 2 colleagues and they confirmed that the sounds had gone. Looks like we are having "pasar-malam" grade PC.

QUOTE(timeonce @ Jun 12 2012, 04:23 PM) to engah . Wow.. really that serious the built quality of PC ? Wonder how come it so bad as it made in japan also. is it cause demand more than supply and too many OT make quality drop I think so because the waiting period in Japan is 6months...

QUOTE(lkp857 @ Jun 12 2012, 06:19 PM) How's your autolock combination? manage to get it done? I followed the Manual (US version), nothing happen. Me too. tried 3 times, did not work. Added on June 13, 2012, 8:03 amQUOTE(calyxhybrid @ Jun 13 2012, 02:06 AM) After many moons of waiting, I finaly rcv my silver C-Wing yesterday. Complained to my SA about the rear left side plastic panel just below the rear left fabric seat that always pops out even after your press it in. SA told me it's common but i presume it's a manufactured defect. Does anyone face this problem..? Mine looks ok. This post has been edited by engah: Jun 13 2012, 08:03 AM

QUOTE(EVA01 @ Jun 13 2012, 09:22 AM) Filter I made myself lol...just like how i make for my Desktop. Just a normal dust filter. I didn't take out the fan part. Just stuck it at the opening hole there. Just got OBD check on PC. The autolock function is disable by default, presumably by Toyota Asia decision. Will try get the latest diagnose software for Prius C to enable the function back. I think the decision is not to autolock to prevent people stuck in car when Accident happen. We will still get stuck when the doors are locked manually.

QUOTE(alrasla @ Jun 13 2012, 07:49 PM) yup.. if someone want brake-into PC, easily for them to rob coz no BEEP BEEP sound... i just hear from adviser When I drove my car to work for the first time, I was told by my colleague that the alarm went off for awhile, followed by continuous lights flashing. May be someone disturbed the car. When I went to check, the lights were still flashing silently. Nevertheless, I have not heard it. May be you can use the mechanical key to unlock and open the door. This will probably trigger the alarm.

QUOTE(Kiding @ Jun 13 2012, 09:46 PM) The day when I received the car, I asked my SA to use the FOB key to open the car manually when the car was lock, the moment he tried to insert the key, the alarm sound pretty loud, after he opened the door, he showed me how to reset the alarm, but I forgot how to do it again. so I'm pretty sure Prius C does have alarm. If I remember correctly, it could be like this:

QUOTE(SkyGig @ Jun 14 2012, 10:02 AM) Yesterday I send my PC to SC in Puchong and it cost me RM 109.80.The SC told me the rusted part under the car is common and nothing serious. They even told me Toyota is no longer using 10W20 oil instead it is replaced with 10W30 oil.The SC situated at remote industrial area in Puchong, therefore not many cars to service(the way i look at it).The service staff there also try to be as friendly as possible,I think.Experience on servicing cars?Well,I don't know. Normally there are more people on Saturday than weekdays

QUOTE(colinkit @ Jun 14 2012, 02:01 PM) I was checked with service engineer, they mentioned Prius c and Prius both do not have auto-lock. My friend also claimed that even Mazda do not have auto-lock due to US ppl complaint and sue car manufacturer for safety reason when the passenger in emergency and locking system breakdown. I owned a 2004 Renault Grand Scenic for 3years before switching to PC. The RGC has the auto-lock function and there is no need to unlock to exit from inside. Once you open the door from inside, it automatically unlocks. All the safety concerns are just excuses. The technology is simple and nothing new.

QUOTE(lkp857 @ Jun 15 2012, 09:09 AM) Dear PC owner, After driving my car for a while, there is noticeable and annoying "eik eik" sound coming from back seat when driving on uneven road or enter pot hole and vibrating sound from the plastic cover below the steering. The plastic sound can be eradicated when I hold it with my hand, so I suspecting is that cover issue. And the back seat, when I fold it and unfold it again, the sound gone for a while. Anyone experience this? Ya, for my case, vibrational noise from the dashboard, and ceiling. Left hand side of the back only happened once after driving through a pot hole. Nothing else. My wife's. 24K Viva looks better after 1 year. Fully imported must be good ? Sigh !!!

I used to owned a Wira and I only sent to SC once, ie first 1k. I used it for 11years and it had never broken down half way on the road .I serviced the car my self most of the time, oil, air filter, oil filter, and spark plug. Air con and alternator never mulfunctioned even after running for 200k+km. For PC, I think the local SC guys probably just do all these basic things. The point here is: you can DIY if you want to save money and time.

QUOTE(beck_ken @ Jun 15 2012, 02:17 PM) Yes, my vios i DIY myself with my friend who was a SA before. All the mods on my previous vios, I put it by myself with the help of my friend hybrid and other cars are the same, you service your hrbrids just how you service your old Saga, Iswara, Nissan Sunny or Toyota Supra. All we need to be careful is do not touch anything thing that connected to the hybrids. Just normal service will do... Fully agree. If the design were to be so complicated, they would end up busy training the mechanics to be the experts.

I tried to take out the car jack today. I think all owners should try this so that you know how to remove it easily when you really need it next time. Push the seat to the front to the maximum and the plastic cover can be removed by pressing the clip. Loosen the jack by turning the screw.

QUOTE(vey99 @ Jun 17 2012, 10:13 PM) nowaday so hot on aircon at fan speed 3 or 4 at LO setting FC drop to 15-18 liao During hot weather, one should drive faster to reduce the air-con usage time and this will improve the FC. However, I do this both in the evening (hot) and morning (not so hot). The net results: FC remains unchanged: FC improves slightly in the evening but turns poorer slightly in the morning. However, it is still worth doing because the traveling has been reduced. This post has been edited by engah: Jun 18 2012, 08:46 AM

QUOTE(EVA01 @ Jun 18 2012, 09:35 AM) That should be mine...be go around town lately Time to first service, which SC you all go? I call up UMW Malaysia last time and they say only selected SC is qualify in servicing Prius type. I call again today and they say any service center will do service now. And I found out that the SC at Sungai Buloh have just went for training last 2 week. Don't want my PC get to be the demo car for service guide. Any suggestion? I did mine at Sg Buloh SC last month since I bought from the branch and they gave me RM30 voucher. I think all SC's are the same. They only do the basic things, change of gasket, lub oil and oil filter, unless you have specific complaints related to the Hybrid system. For the rest of items, they probably just tick, tick, tick.....

QUOTE(conqu3ror @ Jun 19 2012, 07:18 PM) When received our PC, SA should have wash & clean for us. That is good enough, no need to wax. Is better save your time & energy to wax another time. I believe in 1st 3 month, just normal car wash is enough. Unless your car super dirty & need another protection. Fully agree. Mine is 2 months old now. Use it daily and wipe every 1-2weeks. Still easy to clean with just a wet cloth and felt slippery. No stubborn stain.
