the figure that prtn publishes is from engine. On crank, since its using cvt, no fix ratio involve, u will get diff hp n torque, normally higher. But also some case lower. I had informed earlier that gear ratio can immitate torque. And it wont burn ur cvt coz on engine, its still the same as been posted as prtn.
U get diff result when cfe couple with mt tranny. Thats is why some says the advantage of having cvt tranny. Yup, like asking people been driving 2.0 na, same question have u driving previous golf 1.6 tsi with 6 speed dsg n current 1.4 tsi with 7 speed dsg? This will be never ending arguments. But some journo says even in 1.4 tsi, it can exceed those in 2.4 na, but still the feeling is not the indicator even they mentioned it not felt like having neck snapping acceleration, doesnt mean its slow.
No need to believe me. Better read the expert review than me and try to understand the word refinement. Better off before many experts coming in :-), ha...ha...

Whoaaa..triple post there bro..yes i have drove the 1.4tsi polo, 1.8t and 2.0T A4... These cars are fast..but like most auto car..u dont feel that fast.. The reason i said the preve is slow is that it feels so heavy, and as i said before, last week i played around the car for 30 mins with my collegue, went there with a Persona 1.6 Campro Base line, did a drag race in S mode, and lost to the persona. Thats why i questioned how proton got the 9.6s 0-100 thing

QUOTE(duan @ Apr 25 2012, 11:44 AM) after having problem with my Waja power window and rattling sound, i said enough with Proton, but when i think back, so far no major issue after 5 years. i booked Preve last week hehe.. used to be Proton basher also moral of the story don't bash you might someday think that Proton can make car that suit your need. for me safety>>practical for family>>performance and cheap. Same here. Used to be proton basher. BIG time. But heck, they're finally doing something right. Why not eh? QUOTE(maverickng @ Apr 25 2012, 12:04 PM) rhb called...loan approved..2.68%...will go sign this fridays car book at 23/04/12...go bank pass document 24...just now call back approved...so fast I hate you. QUOTE(blo0dLuSt @ Apr 25 2012, 12:52 PM) my fren said the cvt can handle up to 300Nm. i asked him that is his answer. he also mod kaki one ma. wajarays u know? the one with light blue Evolve waja. Impossible as Punch Powertrain's specification paper for VT3 states max safe input torque is at 220Nm, power is at 122kW (165bhp SAE) and max rev limit is 6500rpm. anything beyond that deteriorates the powertrain significantly and trust me, you don't want a belt to putus. Ask those kaki scooters how it feels having a belt putus. http://www.punchpowertrain.com/files/Docs/Products/VT3.pdfEDIT: the question is now how much input power losses was estimated by the dyno shop when running the Preve on dyno? Best if someone can publish the on-wheel dyno sheet This post has been edited by almostthere: Apr 25 2012, 01:44 PM

QUOTE(ruffstuff @ Apr 25 2012, 01:43 PM) i also think Proton themselves never drag race with persona. even if they did, will they say that their new car with turbo is slower then their current gen cars? I still think their CVT is the preve's bottleneck. heh.. but a manual Campro is kinda fast..especially those neos.. huhuhu.. im so tempted at the Neo R3 red colour one at glenmarie showroom haha.. there's lots of factor in determining manufacturer's performance claim. They can fit in low resistance tires, very highly inflated tires and also conduct the test in an environment favorable to them to obtain good results.
