Hi, I'm new to i5 3570K overclocking. I want to know why my Bus speed dipped below 100? Please check the screenshot to help me verify the problem and suggest me any recommendation.

I'm using,
Asus Sabertooth Z77
Corsair Vengeance 1600 C8 2x4GB
Corsair H80

*Correction on the Load Line Calibration screenshot, I'm currently using High setting with 0.100 CPU Offset.

Yey biggrin.gif It fixed the bus speed. Thanks. I'm still trying to test for system stability. It's my core temperature normal ? I afraid it's too hot.

My vcore already touch the redline sad.gif
*
Mine reached the redline before and my Vcore droop so much.

I then changed the Load Line Calibration to high and lower the Vcore voltage. So far manage to run below the redline without any stability issue.

Sad that TNB killed your golden chip few days ago.

Looks quite normal. max is 105C so still can go higher.  brows.gif

Is there any benefit from enabling Asus MultiCore Enhancement?

I believe insufficient vcore is the reason.
Try bumping up a few notches and that is why stability test is very important here for 24/7 operation.
*
Insufficient Vcore will also cause program crashes? I thought it only cause BSOD.

yes it will crash without BSOD too. Another reason is wrong mem settings.
*
How to know whether my mem setting is correct? I am using XMP profile.

I think people use memtest86 program to perform ram stability test. Add your desired setting then run test to check. If got error, then setting is incorrect or your ram got problem. Download at http://www.memtest86.com/
Burn .iso to cd or usb then boot at startup.
*
Midst of running Memtest86.... is my memory problem?

Your voltage is pretty close to mine.
I need 1.38 - 1.39v to hit 4.6GHz.
*
I can't seem to stabilize my 4.6Ghz. Some programs keep crashing randomly. owikh84 said it is due to not enough voltage.

What programs crashed?
Yes, insufficient vcore may lead to program crash.

1) Run your memory at default speed and timing while you find the stability of overclocked processor.
2) Increase your vcore 1.42v and see the programs still crash or not.

Yeap, LinX generates too much heat.
I used OCCT instead.
*
Kaspersky AV, Brother printer software, AMD driver, Cinnebench, Windows Experience Index suddenly crash while assessing the performance.

Is XMP profile also count as default speed?

I suggest you run default XMP setting first and let test finish 100%. I don't find that 'vouvou' thing when running memtest86 last week.
*
Ok, I am currently using the default XMP setting. How long usually it takes to finish Memtest on 8GB?

Yes, XMP is the default speed.
I think it is the vcore then. Increase the vcore to 1.42-1.44 and see the programs still crash or not.
*
OKay. Now testing 1.42v. Yours totally stable running 4.6Ghz @ 1.39 ???

Why your test got "vouvou"...?
Just to confirm that, i try run memtest86 on my laptop few min ago. Here is the image. Yours should looks like this too..

At least 15minutes.. Maybe more.
*
It was normal at the beginning like yours but after several hours then the "vouvou" suddenly appear out of no way.

You guys please correct me if i'm wrong

but the wise decision to go for now, is to wait for the next batch, and pray that they replace that cheapo TIM or come up with a better solution.
*
I hope that Intel will provide free replacement for current user that already buy the processor with overheat problem.

Guys, when i'm playing game, it freeze and speaker has buzzing sound after 10-15minutes,
3570k clocked to 4.5.

But when i set back to 4.2, the problem gone, so i try and increase the voltage at 4.5? Currently running 1.255 for 4.5, some people here need 1.38.

But i tried to run prime95 2 hours+ no problem, but after that, when i'm playing Diablo 3, it hangs and BLIZZZZZZZZZZZ sound comes from speaker and dafuq, the long dungeon i explored and need to explore again.
*
Probably insufficient voltage. Mine 4.6Ghz already use 1.42v to stabilize. For 4.5Ghz maybe 1.40-1.41 will do. Try 1.38v first and increase from there if not enough.

Bliz sound? I only have beep sound from the onboard speaker when my system crashed.

Your Load-line calibration(LLC) set to 100% maximum power to CPU right? So now yours 1.41 stable? No crash?
*
Yes, maximum. I still testing with 1.42v and so far so good but temperature very high.

And by the way, your Cinebench what mark.

Currently testing with Battlefield 3. I will test with Prime95 once my room is cooled with air cond just to keep the temperature within safe range.
Cinebench = 7.54pts

So before you set to 1.42, you play BF3 system crash? So now ok already? (So far)
*
Yup, not just BF3 that crashed, other app as well like antivirus, printer software, display driver, Cinnebench, WEI performance assessment & some benchmarking app. Crash without BSOD. It simply crash when the program is running a while.

So far no crash with 1.42v.

What motherboard & ram you use? Stabilize your 4.5Ghz first then go for 4.6Ghz.

I sold my Gigabyte Z77M-DSH and bought an Asus P8Z77M.

Excellent mobo.
And I'm still torturing my i5-3570K at this hour.
Here's my Super PI 32M @ 4.7GHz.

P/S Here's my other hardware specs
Processor: i5-3570K
Mobo: Asus P8Z77M
Cooler: Corsair H50 with Arctic MX4 thermal paste
Ram: Corsair Value ram 2x2GB @ 1600MHz CL9 (cheapo of all cheapo rams # VS2GB1333D3)
Casing: Lian Li PC-V351
*
Does the cooling performance improve by changing the thermal compound on Corsair Hydro to Arctic MX-4?
