Anyone playing fsx on steam?

care to share your experience if you have tried?

after reading many comparisons, i don't see that many advantages of shifting over to steam. yes, given that fsx classic has its stability issues and dove claims the steam version is more stable and faster. stability, yes, but faster, with the correct configuration and the right NVI, DX10 fixer and cfg settings on fsx classic, i don't see any difference between the two except that if you own steam, some of the 3rd party addons may not be compatible yet.

yup so far might be not much different between box and steam edition, only vas management, but if dovetail keep updating this edition it will be good, compare to box version last SP was SP2 or Acceleration, you are right about DX10 fixer or some tweak, but with steam edition u dont need to use tweak anymore, some of tweak has been hard code, for person like u that have stable fsx box, no need to migrate, but for new user or problematic user with box, they may try with steam edition.
as for me come from FS9, FSX Gold and now steam, in future might be P3D,

FSX from Steam, what mods you guys use to make the graphics better?

i fly both VFR and IFR, recently i join FedEX VA, hope can explore whole world with FedEX, and also i fly for Air Asia and MAS under Malaysia Virtual Airline.

REX 4 : replace sky, water, airport , cloud texture
FTX Global : give a new texture to whole world instead of default field in FSX
FTX Global Vectore : fix fsx coast line, river, road , i test from airport from airport subang, follow the road until my house at damansara area XD, but of cource no real building (my apartment) just area.
FS Genesis World Mesh : cheapest mesh available, with this it change terrain, mount and land.
OpusFSI or Active Sky Next : inject real weather to FSX.

i am also thinking about Zinertek HD Airport, it change all texture for all default airport, no need use REX 4 airport texture for this.

i used flightfx & sweetfx presets with DX10 enabled in FSX classic, and since i don't have the steam version, not sure if that will pose any problem in it.

Seems like they are payware.

Plan to buy REX4 HD, is it wise to do so? How bout those aircraft? Will the aircraft texture get updated? Coz i read it's only for scenery.

for starter ,i recommend u
REX 4 = Airport texture(zinertek maybe better), Cloud, Water, Wave, texture
Zinertek Airport HD = Replace default airport texture ( Only )
FS Genesis World = ast least can see gunung jerai, gunung tahan, kinabalu in Malaysia instead off flat land.


REX 4 and FS Genesis is Compulsory for me
can postpone all expensive thing, unless u become some jack ******* XD

How about REX Essential PLUS with OverDrive?

I am more particular on the overall texture, which includes ground, aircraft, enviroment. Does REX4 include all these texture as well?
