KD on summer transfer plans

Kenny Dalglish today explained how Liverpool will look to build on the progress made in his first full campaign back at the helm during this summer's transfer window.
The boss has revealed he expects the Reds to be active in the market during the close season - though he doesn't expect much outgoing activity.

"All we want to do is add to the start we've made here," said Dalglish. "With the transfer window opening there will be a bit of business done but that's the same at every club.

"We sit and talk to the owners throughout the season. We've discussed all the possibilities with various parties and been through every option.

"Most of the plans for next season are in place. We just need to get the work done and get on with it.

"We are not looking to move anyone out. The only one who will be leaving is Fabio (Aurelio) because his contract is up.

"The transfer market always brings up surprises but what the surprises are going to be I can't help you because I'm not clairvoyant. But what I can say is that we are not actively looking to move anyone out."

in terms of cup..we have progress..6/7 season trophyless??..but not in league table..so KK got a point there

We won a cup and are now back in Europa. Yeah not as glamorous as the CL or winning other cups, but it is progress nonetheless.

I don't blame people  for doubting it but is Kenny absolutely wrong to say there has been progress ? At the start of this season, we've only had 3 cups to play for; the league, the carling and the fa cup. And we won in one of those competitions. Come next season we will be able to compete for 4 cups, the Europa being the 4th cup. So he's not wrong, we've made progress this season - tho i admit im not satisfied with our league performance.

What we want does not always translate to what the club wants. Maybe CL was the target, or maybe Europa was the target. It's hard to say, but I'm leaning towards the latter given how we approached the domestic cups. This may be hard to swallow but perhaps the club is taking baby steps in rebuilding.
