I don't understand the hate for john henry now.
He saved the club from administration when nobody wanted us,he cleared us of our debts,he gave what the fans wanted when they called for kenny to be made manager,he backed kenny with funds last summer,he reduced our wage bill and he is helping us to strike sponsorship deals as well as improve our commercial revenue. Now certain fans want him out because he didn't want to shake hands with kenny. I think henry deserves a bit more respect. As much as i have been critical of kenny,i never called him names or say things like ''he should get out of the club'' or ''kenny must be sacked now.'' QUOTE(carloz28 @ May 9 2012, 12:57 PM) You just gotta love the delusional optimism in this thread. One good game against a weakened Chelsea side and people are back in dreamland in their cyrogenic tubes. Chill man, according to them we are gonna win the league,fa cup and europa next season. So keep the faith Those so called "knee jerk fans" you despise so much are fans who see things objectively and will not get carried away by odd victories like this. When are you guys are going to get rid of that Carling Cup syndrome? |

There's nothing wrong with celebrating todays win.In fact,i was pleasantly surprised at the performance.
But if you think from todays performance several players(ehm..ehm..) should be regulars next season then nobody can help liverpool. Going by kenny's starting line up for the final i don't think he knows what is his best team or how to execute the tactics. He failed to get it right when it mattered the most. Juventus sacked a few incompetent managers in between before they won the league. It's not like they were sticking with one person all the while. QUOTE(koolspyda @ May 9 2012, 08:22 PM) As much as it was a nice win, it's feels hollow, no matter how it's sugar coated with the accolades of 'could have been 5-1, 8-1 , wha wha wha Thank you to downing and adam too Ok, serves a nice sending off for our soon to be departing maxi, and probably kuyt. Good servants, as far as I know didn't throw public tantrums of not able to be fielded. Thank you lads, for the time being with us at Liverpool FC. |

Usually kuyt is one of the models for our new kit.But this year he isn't- does that mean he is definitely leaving?
The same thing happened to arsenal with fabregas as well last year. |

I just read a comment on The Kop suggesting there is not much difference between adam and alonso.
He supported it by saying that adam's goals and assists has bettered alonso in any season here. Somebody help liverpool http://thekop.liverpoolfc.tv/_Xabi-Alonso-.../173471.html?b= This post has been edited by Rotuham: May 11 2012, 07:05 PM |

QUOTE(koolspyda @ May 12 2012, 08:22 PM) well, it serves out some doubters out there Well even the first sentence is debatable.''.........build on progress''KD on summer transfer plans Kenny Dalglish today explained how Liverpool will look to build on the progress made in his first full campaign back at the helm during this summer's transfer window. The boss has revealed he expects the Reds to be active in the market during the close season - though he doesn't expect much outgoing activity. "All we want to do is add to the start we've made here," said Dalglish. "With the transfer window opening there will be a bit of business done but that's the same at every club. "We sit and talk to the owners throughout the season. We've discussed all the possibilities with various parties and been through every option. "Most of the plans for next season are in place. We just need to get the work done and get on with it. "We are not looking to move anyone out. The only one who will be leaving is Fabio (Aurelio) because his contract is up. "The transfer market always brings up surprises but what the surprises are going to be I can't help you because I'm not clairvoyant. But what I can say is that we are not actively looking to move anyone out." Progress?what progress He doesn't expect to move anybody on which we means we can look forward to another season featuring charlie adam and stewart downing regularly. In case you say i have an agenda against these two, damien comolli said recently that a player bought over the summer ticked all boxes but ended up a failure.I am guessing it's between these two with downing more likely. QUOTE(leftist @ May 12 2012, 08:53 PM) in terms of cup..we have progress..6/7 season trophyless??..but not in league table..so KK got a point there Yes,we did really well in the cups. But all the progress made in the cups were negated by our dismal league campaign. At the end of the day,it's one step forward and another step backward. If we want to measure progress,we can ask ourselves this question: Do higher quality players want to sign for liverpool compared to the last summer transfer window? If they do,i am willing to change my opinion. Added on May 12, 2012, 9:28 pm QUOTE(hfi @ May 12 2012, 09:18 PM) We won a cup and are now back in Europa. Yeah not as glamorous as the CL or winning other cups, but it is progress nonetheless. Did you ever wonder why the club is making statements about progress almost every other week? It's because there is a substantial number of fans doubting it.They are hard-pressed to convince people about it. During rafa's time he rarely came out to talk about progress because we were doing the job on the field. It's just like under a riot scenario where country's leader comes out to say everything is calm and order when in reality it's not. It's just PR so that people don't lose faith. QUOTE(hfi @ May 12 2012, 09:36 PM) I don't blame people for doubting it but is Kenny absolutely wrong to say there has been progress ? At the start of this season, we've only had 3 cups to play for; the league, the carling and the fa cup. And we won in one of those competitions. Come next season we will be able to compete for 4 cups, the Europa being the 4th cup. So he's not wrong, we've made progress this season - tho i admit im not satisfied with our league performance. He is not absolutely wrong but i have always said this;where does our priority lie?At the start of the season everyone made it clear that we wanted progress in the league. Progress in the cups is welcomed of course but not without league progress. Let's put it this way.We finish 4th in the league,we get knocked out in the first stages of the cups by lower division teams. Do you think anybody will be complaining?I definitely will not for sure.In fact,i will be giving my full backing for kenny. |

QUOTE(hfi @ May 12 2012, 10:13 PM) What we want does not always translate to what the club wants. Maybe CL was the target, or maybe Europa was the target. It's hard to say, but I'm leaning towards the latter given how we approached the domestic cups. This may be hard to swallow but perhaps the club is taking baby steps in rebuilding. Please man don't shift the goalposts. The manager, the owners, the players have been talking about how confident they are of a top 4 finish until the arsenal game. Then everything fell apart after the game and the manager and his hardcore supporters start talking about how we rather have the two cups than top 4.If there is anything that is more disappointing than our league campaign that would be the club and a large number of fans not willing to admit we failed this season.
