QUOTE(YakAttack @ Nov 18 2013, 06:15 PM) ^ I have no preference, I just want to know what method works best. for beginners any brand is good. for advanced, it's down to trial and error. On a side note, has anyone tried Neurocore? A friend of mine wants to pick it up from Ejinutrition, only 86RM. Reviews on the internet seem pretty good, despite MuscleTech's reputation. |

QUOTE(Unleashed @ Jan 23 2014, 09:53 AM) yes, of course i will start to go to the gym. the reason i want to buy supplement is because im afraid i won't consume enough protein for my muscle growth. I eat a lot of rice, but im not too sure about the protein. the idea everyone is trying to tell you is do not rely too much on supps. This is common mistake by newbies hoping for something magical to gain muscles. if you could get anything from half to 3/4 of your required protein intake from solid food i would say u r on the right track.question, how many g of proteins should i take everyday? and should i take a lot of carbs too? rule of thumb is 1 - 1.5x of body weight in pounds (lbs). if you could achieve 1x of bodyweight it should be good enough already. yes, carbs please. |

QUOTE(colins @ Jul 17 2014, 08:43 AM) Hi, I have been using Muscletech Nitrotech and recently bought one but noticed that the cover and seal has changed from the one I bought a few months ago. Am concern whether I have gotten a fake product.... go to gnc, pretend to be interested in their muscletech product, investigate the cover and seal properly and then leave.I have attached a photo which you can see the comparison, on the left is the one which both cover and seal has "Muscletech" logo, batch number and expiry printed on the top part of the label. On the right is the one I recently bought, cover has no logo, no seal, batch and expiry date at the bottom of the container. Top left picture is the shrink seal. What do you think? |

QUOTE(Ed11 @ Jul 29 2014, 09:28 PM) Hey bro, https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=69353101I also having the same concern. I just bought the same product as yours and mine also match the details as on the Right side of your attached photo. I'm worried it might be a counterfeit product. I'm wondering how to verify this. Fyi, I bought one before from GNC and it matches the details as on the left of your attached photo. |

my reply:
QUOTE(geek8585 @ Sep 1 2014, 07:13 PM) hi there... i have a question in my mind quite sometimes ago with regards of supplementary. I am a skinny guy, weight around 55kg currently, tall 172cm. I started training 2 mths ago and everything is going fine. Currently, I am taking Mass Gain post workout. While for my rest day, my trainer suggest me not to take supplementary and get REAL FOOD instead. I used to take mass gainers during my skinny days. My advice is for u to take solid food after workout, then end with mass gainer shake (think of it as a dessert drink!). The problem with drinking mass gainer after workout (before solid meal) is the bloating sensation that can last for hours, thus u would then avoid solid food, which is not the point of supplementation. However, friend of mine share experience with me telling me that he took supplement almost everyday and sometimes twice a day. I have a mindset like why not take in Mass Gain during workout day, and Whey Protein on rest day. Is it necessary? I got no problem hitting my current diet plan which is around 2500 cal per day. I don't see why you can't take both everyday. Besides that, I am having BSN True Mass with 700 calories per serving. I wonder + a bit afraid as i wish to switch to ON Serious Mass or BSN True Mass 1200. More calories and faster get result... Oh ya, is the Serious Mass from ON taste awful? Read quite some from the google... Again, please depend on solid meals for calories. |

QUOTE(geek8585 @ Sep 1 2014, 09:49 PM) hey janson, thanks for your reply mate. provided you train consistently, ie 3-7 days a week, those non work out days are recovery days, therefore your body needs the same amount of nutrient for recovery.Means it got no harm for me to have shakes even I am not on workout? yes, solid food also my priority. But with my current body size, is 2500 calories per day sufficient? if you ask me, to top up 1000 more, i must take the mass gain (my stomach can't fill so much of solid foods currently) Oh yes, you got the point... i tend to drink my shakes right after my workout, some said it is a golden 30mins which i don't think so after i read around i dont count my calories like most do. i just eat accordingly. and it's simple science, eat more grow more. anabolic window or whatever window is all myth. don't need to stay in the gym to drink your shake. go home or go out and eat proper meal is better |

QUOTE(geek8585 @ Sep 1 2014, 10:12 PM) thanks for your sharing janson... May I know why you started with mass gainer anyway? I remember when I was skinny I bought those weight gainer powder from pharmacy hoping it would bring miracle lol hmm... looks like i gonna do something, i'm getting excited day by day when doing workout... just somehow, trainer ask me don't take supplement always... start slow with 2500 cal per day etc... while u in some supplement store, they will ask you buy more because you just need it everyday... example like one 5lb BSN True Mass just for 16 servings... if drink everyday means last around two weeks only bla bla bla... woot, i understand... trainer got his business, supplement outlet have their business too.. so? erhemmm.... i'm still learning one of the reasons why skinny ppl r skinny is because they just don't eat enough no matter how much they claim they eat. I'm speaking from my own experience myself. forcing yourself to eat a lot is a way of telling your body to change your appetite. when you are slightly advanced later, u will be laughing at yourself now like "why din I just eat MORE? it feels so easy now!" |

QUOTE(geek8585 @ Sep 2 2014, 11:34 AM) my mindset is i want to gain weight... protein for muscle gain and carbs is for weight gaining... that's why i choose Mass Gain... but a lot ppl said it is just carbs junk but a plain whey protein seems not helpful for me to gain weight... tbh, our malaysian food is full with carbs, therefore what you lack is actually protein. just eat tonnes of food and drink protein shake.any thought? i still prefer solid food as supplement does work differently on different human body... like one of my bro's friend, he grew a lot of white hair since he took shakes everyday... scaryy and i still have plentiful of black hair despite years of taking shakes |

QUOTE(gn9746203 @ Jan 4 2015, 02:28 PM) Actually I did try and buy some chicken here .... and boil it .... It taste so weird .... I know its because of the chicken ... Few days ago my colleague just cook us a meal and the chicken ... my god u don't have to eat only chicken rite? if i'm as busy as u, eggs are my best fren. just cook 5-10 eggs per meal and you can cover a big chunk of your daily protein requirement so many things u can do with eggs. egg mayo sandwich, egg salad, egg fried rice, plain steamed egg, scrambled egg with cheese etc |

QUOTE(HeiShou @ Feb 10 2015, 11:55 PM) What are these actually? Bought a tub of syntha 6 it was sealed when I opened. I tried putting the whey first and then followed by water and vice versa. I'm using a shaker bottle. When I tried to rub the "thing", it's like powder but can't be dissolved. I mean.. Just to confirm since its my first time.. The expiry date is on September 2015. |
