ur story nice for sharing in the future maybe someone will ask the same questions all over again. honestly cannot accept ur women car petrol run out story! how can someone think in this way? the car moves effortlessly can think it is a bicycle..... i know this is a true story but for me i cannot stop laughing at this ....

This story came up in one of the newspapers in Malaysia some few years ago. When the car stoped and failed to restart she called the salesman. The salesman came over....the fuel meter E. E for Enough!!! That's why it made the news.
And yet many ppl dont know the car need water for the engine. What? You need to fill water? The car needs water to run??? They thought water is for cleaning the windscreen, never cross their mind it was for the engine cooling.
And many dont know how to fill petrol...until the introduction of self service station, change car tires, set radio stations...the purpose of low beam high beam and mis-use of hazard light during raining is just too common whether experienced or new drivers the same. And worst of all driving slow on the fast lane or drive at the speed limit occupying the fast lane thinking by keeping to the top speed limit allow him/her to use the fast lane. that force the fast cars to overtake from left/slow lane dangerously. Fast lane is for over taking and faster than any car behind you, not for keeping to the speed limit if many of you still dont know! Next time when you travel at road speed limit 110km/hr, move and give way to cars behind you travelling above the speed limit at 120km, 130km/hr. His/her way and rights to over take you fr fast lane and it is his/her choice to be booked by police.

Turning off the fridge? Penny wise pound foolish.
The health risk of bacteria growth on food/milk etc, additional wear and tear on compressor, is probably not worth the few bucks that you save.
Why are you assuming that you'll save rm30 month doing that? maybe it's just rm15?
If you're leaving it to room temperature, the fridge pushes the compressor to it's maximum power whenever you turn it back on.
Added on April 13, 2012, 1:17 pmIt is penny wise pound foolish. He saved maybe RM0.40 worth of fuel and in exchange he got himself in thousands ringgit worth of accident. Even if he didn't get into any accident, he put himself in extra risk of safety (no engine braking, less control, no power steering), extra wear and tear on the alternator, extra wear and tear on the gearbox... all this for 0.40 worth of fuel?
No one is a fool. It is being not in the know and trend. That is why our fren is asking us in this forum.
Do you know how to fly a plane, for example? Do you know the higher you fly the less the fuel you need and the faster the plane goes? Next time when you are in a plane you know why they want to go so much higher, not that they need time to recover from the fall of the plane but to be faster and save fuel. The air is thinner less friction and less cloud and pilots can see better. But that is not entirely true. Why fly at high altitude as the distant is longer when earth is round? or circle is bigger compared to sea level? And the thinner the air the more the engine has to work harder and uses more fuel. They are still learning... and we are still leaning and one day someone design a new car like an electric car, we may not need this auto steering lock anymore where coming down hill the engine is off and all things still functioning without the engine running.
