See what The Potters have in store for Arsenal:
QUOTE Just for next week, can we put all of our reservations about our style of play, our level of performance and our manager's selections behind us and focus solely on defending our club against our ultimate enemy - that loathsome Wenger creature. It would be a crying shame if the dissatisfaction present amongst our supporters after today's game spilled over to next week and caused the game to be a damp squib in a flat atmosphere, resulting in a walkover for Arsenal. We need the place to be an absolute cauldron of hate to get our players going and to scare Arsenal's fairies out of the game. Choruses of abuse need to be directed towards their manager, every touch of the ball by an Arsenal player needs to be greeted with raucous jeers and cries of 'boring, boring, boring', all in the name of defending our club and putting Wenger in his place. We can still end the season on a high and wreck Arsenal's season in the process - but only so long as the crowd are up for it. This is bigger than petty gripes over our manager - it's about the damage that Wenger did to our club by manipulating the press, every article that has attacked our players, our club and our supporters, every smug 'cyber Gooner' from America and Nigeria and every single one of the 'somebody hold me back else I'll kill him, who put this invisible wall here?' Arsenal supporters we've had to endure contaminating the Britannia. Sod the standard of football, let's just make it one last performance to remember this season by and send the big girls home crying. No sulking, just unity in the face of widespread vilification. Our motto is 'vis unita fortior', after all. Doing it last year was definitely one of the highlights of the season. I can't wait for it. QUOTE If we stay in the Prem for the next 30 years, I doubt any game will better last season's complete humiliation of Wenger. If he's got an honest bone in his body, which is doubtful, when he writes his autobiography, Wenger will describe that match as the most uncomfortable 90 minutes of his footballing life. Whatever people's thoughts about Pulis or his style of football, we'll all be 100% behind the lads for this game, as we always are. Huth might be out to settle a few scores as well. Bring it on! QUOTE It's the perfect game for us. If there's one game to guarantee complete unity of purpose on and off the field, it's the visit of these tossers. The sight of Wenger's bizarre 'coat' (is it a coat?) is like throwing red meat to a starving wolf. But we're never let down in these home games v the top six. It's been a constant of our 4 years in the Prem, and Pulis' greatest strength - the ability, win or lose, to give all the big boys a real going-over in every single home game against them Maybe only the home game v Man United in the second season (which fortunately I missed) has been a damp squib. There's no doubt we'll put in a performance to be proud of, in a pretty memorable cauldron-like atmosphere next week, as we have done 20-odd times in the home games v the big boys over the last 4 years, when they take the game to us - which suits us perfectly. Maybe we could get Tone to manage us in those 6 home games, and send him on gardening leave down to Sandbanks for all other matches! http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/index....y&thread=191024 Since Aaron Ramsey incident, their fans start to loathe Arsenal. Expect the same level of hostility with the likes of Wolves and QPR crowd. |

“First of all I would like to say what a big honour it is to be chosen best player of the Premier League by my fellow colleagues. The guys I play against week in, week out. This is a dream coming true for me. Eight years ago I moved to England to come and play for Arsenal in the biggest league around. To get this award is just indescribable.
I have to thank my club Arsenal for giving the chance to be play at this beautiful club. Arsenal has been like my home the last eight years. Then I would like to thank my manager Arsene Wenger for giving me a chance and believing in me, even true the hard times. I would not be the player I am without him. I could not have done it without my teammates; they have been amazing this season. A big credit to them. The team has been amazing helping me out on the pitch and of the pitch. And so has the staff of Arsenal been, the ones that work at the training ground and the ones that work at the stadium. I would also like to thank my family and friends for always being there for me. Your support has been so important to me. I would like to dedicate my trophy to my two wonderful kids, my son Shaqueel and my daughter Dina Layla. They have given me so much joy and love. And last but not least. I would like to thank all those wonderful people that have been supporting me every game. The fans!” — Robin Van Persie “He has done amazing this season. I don’t understand why a lot of criticism was there in the first season. The first week I saw him you could tell he was a great player and now it is all coming out in his second season. I am really happy for him. In the last couple of months we have played together a lot of times and I am pleased with that. He is a great player. I think we know each other’s qualities so at the moment it is going well. He is good all-round. He is quick, strong and good with the ball.I think we are quite similar players as well. There are just a lot of things about defending that he is really good at and that is why I like him.We want to play from the back of course, that is how we always want to play. He is really good in that as well so that always gives you more confidence at the back.” — Thomas Vermaelen on Laurent Koscielny’s partnership This post has been edited by smellyfish: Apr 24 2012, 02:05 PM |
