let me share some of my experience.. im using myvi 1.3 ezi.. last week i changed my stock speaker with JBL-GTO version. JBL is a awesome speaker. Due to my stock HU the sound quality is good in term of clarity but in bassy way it suck. there is no bass at all. well then i put amplifier and pre-amp it look a little bit better but if u want to hear in high volume it become suck again the sound hear like plastic sound, i spend almost RM1k for that.. i learned a lesson, the important things is change the HU to a better one than followed by speaker and etc if u want a awesome moment while u in a car.

u spend 1k for all that and i will probably say wat u getting is a damn clappy install and tune.

even with ori headunit, there's a decent sound can be achieve if all other things are done right.

Than it depends on your budget, for sifu here, some would spent 1k just for an amp ..

as for my customer based, many are more than happy with just a budget 4 channel amp and 12" sub which cost you around 6xx. But of course, u need to get the front speaker change too biggrin.gif

Im commenting on this thread after many years it had been abandoned.. btw, my myvi lagi best never had any speakers replaced or changed, everything are stock speakers, HU, and all. Not even an underseat subwoofer installed. But the bass it gives now is nearly amazing. I said nearly because it doesn't produce enough lowest bass range as much as I want that it vibrate my butt. So how did I do it? You only need to tweak the sound setting in HU. Set max bass to 7 and treble to 2. Then I suggest you don't play songs from radio, use any pendrive you have and put your high quality favourite songs in there, then bam! Everything sounds clear and a bit bassy. A bit? Yeah, it will only be a bit bassy, not until you go back to setting from home page, and set the bass to 7 and treble to 2 again. This will cause the HU to overlap the max bass setting, hence causes the settings for bass to become double the bass than what the max bass setting should produce. In the end, you got to play songs using pendrive with a super bassy sound produced from your speaker. But then again, I suggest you do some sound deadening on your door especially the metal panel inside because this will improve the mid bass a lot more. Dont forget to soundproof any rattling sources.

I wanted to upgrade my Myvi Gen3 Sound system and I was introduced to ALOT of speakers...
but now I'm having difficulty in choosing between 2 Options...

1st Option - KENWOOD KFC-XS1703 Speaker with PIONEER TS-WX130DA SLIM UNDER SEAT ACTIVE SUBWOOFER

2nd Option - Pioneer TS-Z65CH Speaker with Pioneer GM-A6704 4 Channel AB Amplifier

Anyone who knows about Speaker would give me your recommendations?
