Just want to ask do CIMB Preferred members enjoy different FD rates as compared to other non-CIMB Preferred members?
Thank in advance for any inputs.

Still depends on how much u r putting in ur fd.. + if u r preferred u will be getting 4% pa.

Is this confirmed? 4% p.a for how long?

I was given a special rate on first placement but upon maturation of the FD, the interest rate then dropped to normal...no more special rate as before....

Is it for 1 yr placement ? U can also withdraw out after the FD maturity. But need to watch out if u want to keep the Preferred status on AUM.

The products on offer and the tools you may play with in CIMB private banking is vastly different from preferred. In malaysia outside of kl only cimb offers pb services.

It was a one month placement. Now since it is already matured, and the interest is back to 2.95%. So I am right now thinking of withdrawing the money and redeposit back to try my luck to see whether I will be given back the special interest rate or not....

PA. just talk to the branch manager. better be quick before the bank negara meeting.

Has anyone been able to get good FD rate above 3.8% for 12 month tenure for preferred?

CIMB FD nothing great even with preferred member, for good FD rate go MBSB 4.25% 6 months,
at CIMB only 3.9%

preferred is for convenience, place Fd, WD Fd no need go bank, RM can do everything with presigned forms,

Want New notes just called and order RM will bring, using her own money first then collect cash later.
best is sell Phillip money market fund morning , money in at 5.00pm still can get same day FD, dont lose interest at all. MBSB is as good too , presign forms , sell PMMF in morning, transfer online as late as 4.40pm still can get same day FD. next day send Cert to your office, that is the perk of preferred..

And how to place the FD ? Must visit counter ?

Just contact your RM.
That is his/her job to serve you as preferred customers.

as the RM keep on changing....i also donno who should i contact now hahaha , never use the service at all (and i just been upgrade to preferred customer few years back)

If I visit branch terus, possible to get preferred FD rate and place the FD over the counter ?
