Bro..... Which shop? Mine one yet tinted
*
Few shops in Damansara quoted this price. The infamous 3M authorized shop in the forum as well biggrin.gif

Perhaps we can do a group buy brows.gif

The reason I chose the Llumar T4-50 (4mil) + 3M HP is that:

1) Charcoal coloured tint (not green/gold/blue)
2) Matching color tint 3M + Llumar (if not careful, you will have different color on the front/back + side)
3) GPS, Cellphone, RFID friendly
4) 4mil security film, good enough to prevent motorcyclist from trying to break your window and doesn't stress the power window motor. Even 6-8mil will not prevent your car from broken into if it was parked in places that attracted such thief

If money is no issue, you can get crystaline 70 for the front but keep the rear in HP so that the side and rear are smoked black.

Waiting for delivery of the vehicle. It should be within these 2 weeks. Will get it done ASAP. Another very important thing I want to get is the cargo tray. This is partially a business car and there is a lot of cargo being loaded in and out a day sad.gif

Compared to many cars, the cx-5's electric steering is one of the best. Try a sonata and u will know how bad a poorly implemented electric steering could be

Btw when did you book yours ?

April. There are a ton of cars at the port now. Had 2 bookings. 1 came with 17" another 19" as I originally booked. Verified with the given VIN number. Same price so I went with the dealer that has the 19". Also managed to squeeze a free car plate 6xx6 in laugh.gif

After half a year of waiting, I've finally taken delivery of my brand new 2WD Aluminum Metallic CX-5. The car is <80KM and it drives absolutely like CRAP.

I was not surprised as I've tested this car in many different mileage, as a matter of fact in more than 1 country as well. The brand new non-broken in engine, n00bie ECU driving pattern is extremely conservative as many reviews have noted...which I believe are based on brand new car. The transmission up shifts very quickly and quietly to 3/4th gear. Once there, the car loses pick up and barely moves. Hence many complaint that it's underpowered. However, I knew that's not true as I've tested broken in units before with over 4-6k KM on them.

Looks like sensei has gotta tech the car how to drive these few months .

PS: First day traffic jam like hell. Drove the car all the way from Gombak back to KL and it capped 10.xL/100KM. Excellent mileage for a car of this size. The E200 Kompressor at home does 13L+

Took the car to Starblaze to have it tinted today. Averaged 11KM/100L today. Still behaves the same, transmission up shifts very quickly, RPM is always kept around 2000+/-. You have to press the pedal over 50% before the car downshifts and accelerate. Guess the fastest way to make it behave aggressively is to shift to semi auto or reflash the ECU if this options becomes available in the future.

CyntrixTech,

As I understand normal tinting process, they will spray soapy water on the exterior glass to stick the film to measure before sticking the film with soapy water inside the car.

Does that in any way affect the Tribos coating on the exterior glass?

Claire,

How to buy from areas where no Bermaz branch?
*
Don't see any difference. The coating isn't really particularly great. Tree saps are still rather hard to clean off

The throttle response will improve overtime as well as the FC.
If  you want better response, come over to the FB club. There are lots of discussion over there.

Yup. The response is getting more aggressive but it's still on the conservative side. The transmission upshifts very quickly once you release the pedal. Fc is around 11 in the city. Drops quickly on hwy or when there is no jam

A defect has been found on the CX-5.
Dash Rattle

Description of problem:
The contact point of the center dash to the chassis is missing a foam padding which resulted in loud rattle of the car when running over bumps. Mine is particularly loud. Need to bring it in to get it fixed. Whole dash must come out. Another owner on Mazda247s has also reported the issue. There should be a TSB in the near future

Refer to:

Had the same issue.  It was a manufacturing defect where there are 3 brakets with foam that insulate the dash.  The center foam in my car was missing and the whole dash had to be removed.  For me the rattle was only noticeable in the am.

UPDATE!!! Problem solved! I just picked up my car and now I'm excited to report the status smile.gif Thankfully it was minor, and not hard to fix. It was a row of bolts under the dash that needed tightening. The guys said there were about 10 of them, and they all just needed tightening down. The dash had to come off for this. Happy to say, I drove home with all the windows closed, tunes off, and the whole drive was silent! Yay!!!! coachvu, if you take yours in, ask them to check that if it seems to you that it might be the cause! Thank you everyone for your input!

Note also Potential DAMAGES from Mazda during the repair
QUOTE(Rafale;6062120)
Any other Mazda dealerships around?

Regarding the damage (flat screw driver prying marks) - I had a similar issue when my dash was removed to fix a rattle noise and they caused numerous damages to the paint, the trims, and the clock window believe it or not.  Took pictures of the damage and emailed the Serivce Manager and made clear that this was not acceptable.

They replaced all the damaged parts no questions asked...

My car have the same defect too.  I have located the source of the noise around the speaker on the top of the dash.  This needs to be fixed by MAZDA.  My car is going to the workshop next week.  I hope the technicians already received the repair instructions, otherwise it would be nightmare for me.

This is definitely NOT good news for MAZDA and all CX5 owners.

My car is from the latest batch. So I'd imagine everybody is affected. It is whether you hear it or not. Ill send you a pm, maybe we can bring It in together. Wasted 4 hours at glenmarie the other day just to have them remove two speaker grills. The dealership will call mazda next week to schedule an appointment for a consultation. I am bringing it to pj this time.
