Is it true that Samsung will provide u a new imei code if they replace the board?
I just sent my S2 for board replacement a few days ago and my friend told me that the imei code will be changed as well once the board is replaced. My friend said if the imei code is still the same then they did not change the board for u. I've double confirmed the imei code and its still the same as before. Is it true that imei will be replaced after u changed the board?? Does that mean that Samsung did not replace the board as promised?? Thanks |

Imei is actually stored in the phone as a file in the root section /efs so i'm not surprised if they did managed to replace back the same imei. Thanks on another note, the warranty is tied to your imei, and the sticker behind ur phone also has your imei, so its possible that they prefer giving you back the same imei rather than updating the system and replacing the sticker |

Sorry if this has been asked before... I tried flashing hydrogenics... just to try out this whole ICS thingy...
couldn't help but revert back to GB... not to say that I completely hated ICS and stuff but there were just a few things that irked me.. like how the path to external sd has changed... and even the file manager is not detecting it... but gallery and music is... cause i got a couple of stuff in external sd that i'd like to access once in a while.. and it wasn't consistent.. but TB sometimes doesn't detect my backup profile and shows an empty list sometimes... which is another biggie for me cause i got quite a couple of things backed up via TB... Anyone here who has gone to ICS and reverted back to GB or still stuck in GB waiting for CheckromV7? |

I've gone to ICS but don't really like it until now although tried a few ROMS, but lazy to go back to GB also |

I dun think they can just copy the efs folder over. Otherwise, those that lost efs (and of course imei) would not need to change mainboard. on another note, the warranty is tied to your imei, and the sticker behind ur phone also has your imei, so its possible that they prefer giving you back the same imei rather than updating the system and replacing the sticker |

Anyone here who has gone to ICS and reverted back to GB or still stuck in GB waiting for CheckromV7? i use go launcher. so on ics or gb makes no difference to me. nova/apex launcher may look cool, but in reality they lack functionality and customization. able to create folder in app tray is a big plus for me. what annoys me in hygrogenics is the lock screen vibration. there seems no way to turn it off. what a big big waste of battery life. |

I'm OK with AOSP roms... but just some minor things here and there ... |
