All SA's will claim to have good sales. Every showroom ive been to (other makes included) have always claimed good sales. So i will always take that with a pinch of salt. Bookings also may be high but how many actually translate into actual registrations? Many of those bookings are ppl who arent aware of the new BNM ruling.

Btw, there will never be any discounts or freebies for new launches. Discounts are usually offered to boost sales or to clear stock and this will only come later.

makes sense..

sigh.. still deciding between the Sylphy Premium, Forte 2.0 and the elantra 1.8.. decision.. decisions...

i had hard time deciding mazda3 2.0 and elantra 1.8 too... at the end.. due to the rear seat in mazda is quite clampy and then i placed booking on elantra 1.8... hope i wont regret later on
*
if you're not married with kids and looking for some ride excitement and love to throw your car into corners, then the Mazda 3 2.0 is the one for you.

Nissan SA in wangsa maju offered RM6k discount even without me bargaining. laugh.gif
*
Did you say that you were trading in your current car? they took a look at my soon to be 10 year old Wira 1.5 GL and only offered me only 9k for it.. so in total, its 13k off. my hyundai SA was saying some are offering 8k for the sylphy.. i wonder where. in all fairness, the sylphy is a really comfortable ride. the power, although looks not impressive on paper, is really there. floor it and you will definitely notice.. NVH is top of the c segment class.. no one comes near it.. i love everything about it except the dashboard!! why in the name of god does TC still insist on such fugly dashboard??? and dont get me started on the wood trimmings.. damn old school and the drum brakes.. but.. if really 8k i might give it a go.. biggrin.gif maybe i should pay your nissan SA a visit. btw.. how long ago was this?

FYI On Hyundia Elantra MD and other Hyundai Car Warranty
1 year or up to 20,000KM which ever earlier Hyundai shall warrant all acessories
are working in order or replace them free of charge.
(these are the remote control, stereo etc.)
3 years or up to 60,000KM which ever earlier Hyundai shall warrant all original
hyundai parts are working in order or replace them free of charge
( timeing chain etc )
5 years or up to 300,000KM (if you have service your car regularly and maintain
as per required by Hyundai), Hyundai shall claim insurance under MUI Continental
all cost to repair or replace the engine and/or transmission system.

So I have been told by the Hyndai Service executive that hyundai car need to be
maintain properly. after 60,001km it seems a lot of parts are still have to be
paid by the owner if it is damaged..

So much for the excitment of new Elantra MD fans, waiting time will be 4 months
for whoever who has not ordered yet and prices shall increase... brows.gif

hmm.. i was being told that only first 2 years will cover parts. after that its only the engine and gearbox. can bro fluidic confirm this?

It's the same with every car, no such thing as a full warranty.

The only reason it's less obvious because the gap between a usual 3 years warranty is so much smaller than a 5 years warranty.
*
thanks bro fluidic.. so its it confirmed 2 year or 60,000km OR 3 years or 60000km? the SS2 SA told me 2, here ppl say 3.. so confirm 3?

QUOTE(jusjus88 @ Apr 13 2012, 03:20 PM)
Just came back from Puchong Show Room.. test drove Elantra 1.6GLS

Looks:
When I first reached there.. totally astounded and impressed by the design. oh god it looks so much better than in the brochure and youtube lol. It's really a nice futuristic and non-mainstream design. When i drove outside along KESAS Highway, totally felt so special  rclxms.gif

Speed:
Pickup , there was 3 people in the car, all grown adults. Speed from 1-100 is just brilliant, and i must say the 6speed shifttronic is really flawless. Test drove up to 130kmph, was my max cause a lot of cars had to give way to me  tongue.gif so cant pickup much. Wind sound was totally oblivious to me, all way to 130kmph.

Comfort:
Since it's HS, the black leather felt okay, I cant comment much on it but it's definitely a good addition to its price. Suspension is OK, went through a couple of bumps, felt OK, but still a *bit* edgy because of the 205/55/16 tyres. Oh and did i mention, it came with soundproofing - so what i heard in the car was just us chatting lol. It's THAT QUIET.

Interior Finishing:
The plastic dashboard feels a bit hard and cheap. But then again, they masked with a greyish colour so it still felt premium. Okay, maybe some points taken off here, but what the heck, for the price I'm paying , I am already more than satisfied  nod.gif Sound system comes with 2 tweeter, 4 speaker - bass is just nice  cool.gif  All the other gadgets are impressive, buttons respond well to my touch , just a bit disappointed there was no cruise control in the 1.6

Maintenance:
Took the maintenance sheet from SA, it's really quite affordable. RM130 for 1000km/5000km, and major 20,000km is about 600, and major 60000 is about 780. Bear in mind it's a C-segment car, and this price you're paying is very , very , very affordable.
Mojo factor:
Hah! Here's good one, believe it or not i saw a couple of chicks coming in with some uncles and first thing they went after - the Elantra. Also on the road, a C-segment car really makes a difference somewhat, people tend to "respect" you on the road more often, wont simply just turn and dash into your lane (which i find it rather dangerous).

Verdict:
Coming from an amateur driver, I must say Elantra really brought several notches up the charts. Frankly, try it yourself, and you'll be captivated by its beauty. I've booked the 1.6GLS wink.gif Cheers!
*
wow.. there's a maintenance schedule?? i missed out on that, can you post it here?? the other thing, do you mind PM-ing me the offer that you got from your SA?

its ok la.. there will always be haters.. let them be lor.. for those who want to know, i would suggest you test drive the car yourself. everyone has their own point of view. you're your own best judge smile.gif

I must say the road noise of Elantra is much lower than Forte's.  biggrin.gif
*
exactly.. i've no idea why some ppl say that the Forte has better NVH.. something wrong with the Forte that i tested?? yes.. there is more pronounced engine noise in the elantra, but maybe its because all the other noises has been cut down?? anyhow, its still acceptable for me.. i dont pull towards redline all the time.. smile.gif

I mean road noise. Engine and wind noise are on par. Road noise is way too obvious for my like and Forte was using Kumho tyres and Kumho are quite noisy one.
I think the road noise of Elantra only behind Sylphy. biggrin.gif
*
yup.. fully agree.. NVH on the sylphy better. hence my dilemma.. biggrin.gif

i specifically asked the SA this as well.. according to the hyper silver is more towards the one found on the tucson rather that this goldish one..

For those who booked now but get 2nd batch car will be charged for additional $2k?

when they jacked the price of the Tucson, SD didnt add anything to the specs.. and if they really jack the prices of the elantra (kinda dumb thing to do) i dont think they will add anytihng as well.
