I would expect this car selling price is in between RM80k to RM90k, which is around or under Forte 2.0 price, but now seem like the price is well above Forte 2.0 and crossing into Altis 1.8 price range, which is very expensive and not worth the money. One forummer said won't buy a car without VSM, but does the VSM really that important? I used to see a lot big and expensive car with this kind of features involve in accident at Karak Highway, like Estima, Alpha, BMW, Mercedes, Camry, for me, drive safely and logically is the most important.

When I speed up from 20KM/h to 80KM/h, the pick up feeling was similar to my 14 years old kancil manual, except the engine noise is much much quieter. actually my Kancil manual pick up was not bad many years ago, can reach 100KM/h from 0 in 11 seconds 

Next time I will try to turn off the econ mode and do a 0-100 speed test probably.

Very worried to buy now the 1.6 because so many said underpower and sluggish and somemore not cheap.

Yes, Bufung is right on this. Acceleration is important, if a car is slow on acceleration, it would mean when there is a need in overtaking car it becomes dangerous.
I drove a Hyundai Getz 1.3 previously, and overtaking car is very dangerous with that car, due to the lack of acceleration. Not to say there is no acceleration at all, just the need for it when you need it.

Yes the Proton Preve will smoke a lot of car, and i can already predict a lot of Michael Scheumacher wannabe will be driving one.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!! I want this car!!

Tested the 1.8 Premium.

- I liked the greeting msg from the MFD.
- Sunroof is a neat feature to have.
- Nice deep center console/armrest space
- Sport pedal ala Golf GTI needed some getting used to.
- Electronic steering gets heavier the faster you go
- Electronic seats quite nice. Can adjust back/forward, height, tilt and center back support.
- Nice heavy door
- Ample space in the boot
- 6 speaker system not too bad. Although tested on radio only. Forgot to plug in my iPhone.
- Tried the ECO MODE ON/OFF thing. Apparently you are just turning the NOTIFICATION OF or OFF only. If ECO MODE ON, then the display will let you know that you are driving economically.
- Power wise.. felt like how a  1800cc car should feel. Yes engine noise can be heard but bearable.

In conclusion.. although 112k is a nice price to pay for the Elantra...there is just something that makes me want to take it over the Kia Forte or any other car within the same price range/segment.

elantra is a nice car but SD damage it with the pricing and accesories. With current pricing we should get everything our american counterparts are getting. Shame on u SD.

Just a little comment on the height of this car.

It is not as comfort as i tot, the front and rear headroom is not satisfy as i compare with current altis 2.0. Surprisingly the legroom is much roomie than i expected. Good one

As i observe deeply, found out the disc brake is rusty. It might due to too long expose to the weather. Even thou SA told that this car is just arrived.

no turbo, only the same "underpowered" 1.6 which alot of review said that too in veloster forums. but apparently 0-100 is good, under 9 secs. if 130k, i doubt it will sell. only advantage it has over CR-Z is back seats and of course, 3 doors design lol.

No official figures yet but quite a number on the streets. Even during the initial launch, bookings were more than expected

first batch all sold out i heard.

i would say its a great car as the family second car just like how golf gti/tsi fits in. so i'm not surprised when i saw women are driving golf gti. and of cos, its a weekend ride for the husband and a daily ride for the wife and the price of CRZ is just great .

160K for 201 horsepower and 264 Nm of torque, still consider cheap loh.

Other brand name with those numbers will sell it around 200K already.

ya, first batch 120 units.

cos the car dont have much power compare to what they have in NA and Europe. the power can be easily matched by 1.2tsi or any diesel coupe. but in msia the pricing is just right for a flashy ride like  a metropolitan flashy coupe

the reason why it is struggling in america is because, they thirst for raw power, and CR-z lacks that    they expect it to be a 911 carrera hybrid.

just saw another one in silver on my way to office. apparently waiting time for CR-z is at least 2 months. the wait could be caused by fully import as well. i wonder whats gonna happen when government removes the subsidies for hybrids. maybe by that time we have our Preve Hybird.

rear seats one of the points as well but i snooped in veloster forum and alot regretted because the lack of power. CR-z has a better acceleration but race from 0-100 crz won by just a fraction of seconds. i was kinda inclined to try out veloster but i guess with that price tag and hyundai brand, i don't have the balls to try it out yet.

different market i guess. they like trucks over there while over here trucks are considered rare compared to others. overall, it won probably because of the rear seat. well, they were planning on a better performance crz too, but no idea if its still going on. another thing is, it doesn't handle quite well according to the forum and reviews.

lol i have no idea but most probably they did test drive but thats what they say in forums  i guess what they are saying is, when it needs to be 'pushed' then perhaps it doesnt produce the power they expect.

the SA told me, normally this kind of 'SPORTS CAR' won't be so cheap like cr-z because they get tax exemption. lol i asked him 1.6 is sports car ar? myvi turbo also can tabao lol. 130k, i buy CR-z use 20k put in super charger.  i told him isnt it supposed to be between elantra as 1.8 elantra is 112 only. he was like, no la. different car. veloster more fast, sports car. actually i get this alot from Honda salesman too, they keep saying crz is a sports car.

I test drove both 1.6HS & 1.8 last saturday, for some reason i have lost my passion towards this car. I think because waited too long and too many delay and dissapoinment.

My SA said i will get the car by end of April or beginning of May. But too bad no one can confirm if dark blue is available for 1st batch.

Still cant decide between K5 & Elantra, damn i think i really like Elantra despite everything, kene poison too deep...
